Race wins from SEVEN different drivers and FIVE different teams - I doubt we'll see a season like that again.

Shame that the rule changes killed all the great racing and overtaking. still 2007 and 2008 are the two stand out years in f1 for me!

An utterly perfect season. The only flaw was the ridiculous politics. In terms of pure racing, howeverr, I've never seen anything better in any motorsport in my lifetime.

It's just a shame that after such a phenomenal year, the FIA had to alter the Formula, and create the snorefest of 2009, + the extremely close in terms of the season, but boring in terms of the races, 2010.

2008 for me was mindblowing. I'm not old enough to have seen F1 20 years ago, but from what I've seen with my own eyes, 2008 was incredible. The absolute best F1 season - easily of the last decade - and possibly of teh last 20 years; maybe the best ever.

I couldn't possibly comment on that, but the season was intense. The only so-so races were Malaysia, Bahrain + Spain. After that, the season took off, + no race - not even Valencia - was boring.

By far 2008 is the best season ever, Massa and Hamilton were banging wheels all year, they both fought really hard until the last corner, Massa was let down by Ferrari and a bit by himself at the beginning, but Turkey, Bahrain, France even Hungary was unvelievable and Hamilton had one of the best drives in the rain in Silverstone maybe only matched by Schumacher in 1996 on Spain. Even if this season go to the wire, it woulnd't match 2008

2008 was the first season i watched f1. now, because of the FIA, i have a grudge against ferrari. still, a great season. i have a dvd recording of the brazilian gp, and i watched it this morning. it's just fantastic (note: cannot upload on youtube, computer doesn't recognize this particular dvd. any suggestions?)

2008 the best f1 season in ages, mainly becuase it was the season where i had my worst ocd for f1 in recdent years. the season this year i would strugle to give you a run down of the champion standings. bring back refuling or make 2 stops compulsory or make the tires not last.

Everytime I watch that first corner at Fuji, its Kovalienen who is more at fault then Hamilton. I'm not saying what Hamilton did isn't wrong but its Kovalienen who goes much deeper into the corner from further back and prevents both the Ferrari's from turning into the corner.

A brilliant montage, loved the 08 season compared to 09, loads of excitement and overtaking right up to the final lap of the final race, compared to 09 which has frankly been a bit of a snoozefest, with very little overtaking.

yeah but the new regulations are stil useless, the FIA gotta be more strict with the aurodynamic levels of the cars, and the double decker diffuser makes overtaking harder with more downforce

totally agree, they gave us these new regulations trying to spice up the racing that wasn't actually that bad and made it worse... there is less passing now than in the mid-90s for godsake! go back to the '08 regs and give us racing again... although i do think that no refuelling will add some spectacle to the racing...

I also agree, the battles between Mclaren and Ferrari have always been so epic and exciting, edge of the seat stuff. It would be alright if there was lots of overtaking to counter this but unfortunately for us fans there has been very little in the 09 season, hopefully 2010 is as exciting as 08 with Alonso & Massa vs Hamilton and Raikkonen!

No offence but Button is making this season quite boring by always winning and the reason i hate him is because he is always being favoured by his team and he isn't treated equally as rubens.

I would want Sebastian Vettel to win this year's world championship. I'm a big fan of him. It looks like Button is finally starting to lose the winning feeling Though I hope Schumacher wins in valencia even though hamilton is my favourite

i know, there was nothign wrong with last season... the racing was good, the championship was tight and the cars looked nice but the FIA fucked it up again... i want the racing we had in the late 2000s (before '09 of course) and if we could get back to the early 80s style battles then that would be incredible... leave the slicks, give us winglets again, give us flexy wings, low sprung cars, 3L V10s with no engine freezing, small budgets and classic circuits!

2008 was an amazing season. the great part was that so many guys won. The season showed why Lewis is great and is ability to win. It had Massa proving that hes got what he needs to be champ and how gracious he is in defeat. It exposed 2 possible champs in Vettel and Kubica. And, it proved why Fernando Alonso, in a pretty poor car, is still one of the drivers of our era. What a phenomenal season!
