My dad was born and raised in Poland ,he was a young man when the Nazi invaded his homeland, he fought and was a death camp Holocaust survivor. The area that covers modern day NE Poland and Western Belorus had 900 villages burnt down and its inhabitants massacred.

I found this movie most disappointing given the reviews by many.
The accents were appalling and the silly facial expressions made it like an episode of The Bold and the Beautiful.
Jamie Bell's supposedly Jewish accent slipped in and out of Scottish (the accent he used for Hallam Foe).
The rescue by Daniel Craig's on-screen rebel brother was absolute cringe material; real 'give me a bucket' immature Hollywood screenwriting tripe.

A Must See! Good movie, good story - you will be glued to your seat watching this true story. Daniel Craig and Leiv Schreiber were amazing!

i seen something on tv based on this film a couple of years ago it was a true story cant think of the guys name does a program on survial on bbc 2 he went too the same forest where the jews where living and he was showing all the ways you can live and survive in the forest he was telling the same story about what this film is based on true events

Those "partisants" were Jews and they killed 130 polish farmers from village Naliboki in 1943.. but in this movie thye're presented as heroes! Sure - for Hollywood attacking at 5 o'clock in the morning sleepy civilians and killing them - is a heroism. Why ? Because killed civilians were POLISH ! If killed people would be Jews- then Hollywood wouldn't present their killers as heroes!
D. Craig shows jewish brother Bielski/killer making massacre in Naliboki as a hero! Shame!

Pankracyogame - I will have to do my research, because I do not know of the particular events you speak of, historically. But I do not doubt it, Hollywood as well as historians in general often re-write history to their liking. I think it was Napolean who said, "History is nothing more than a lie agreed upon". Or it coulda been Churchill, no Churchill said something like "history will look kindly upon us, because I am going to write it" But thanks for sharing, i will look into it.

Jews are HELP DENIERS because during WWII they asked polish people for help and now they deny 99% of these help to complain in all the wolrd that during holocaust they were lonely and chriestians didn't want to help them . It's a lie! Only in Poland about 360 000 Poles were helping them in spite of death penalty and jewish betrayal in eastern Poland ( Jews betrayed polish people at the beginning of war) but in Jad Vashem is only 6000 polish Righteous - it's only 1% helping Poles.
