Our concert choir class is singing this for a memorial thing at school on Monday and for our Madrigal Feaste! I love this song and this group sounds great! (:
Compliments to the director. Junior High kids can do a lot more than they're oft given credit for if they're inspired and led properly. Obviously these were.
Can someone tell me who is the original composer of this song. I am trying to find out but I do not know who made it??? There are too many variations of this song.
this is very good for a middle school choir...my high school is doing this song for our festival coming up. one thing this choir clearly didn't focus on though is their vowels.
I did this in Sixth grade. we managed to get ones at organizational. as well as a lollipop in class if we could translate the whole text correctly.....
This is my FAVORITE song for our Madrigal feast. May I recommend that if your choir brings this back annually, take it at a slower tempo. The adoration in the piece is exemplified even more when it is slower. :) Otherwise, your sound is excellent.
Cupcakedrumdrum: "Adoramus te" means "We adore (or worship) you." Christe, of course, refers to Jesus Christ.. So the song, in Latin, begins with theme, "Lord Jesus, we worship you."
Our school did this, we are 9-12 choir, we did excellent, your pronunciation is off a bit, but it was still decent, and I would say all of those younger kids singing could be great once their voices mature
Wow! This is truely a great version! Perhaps the greatest I've heard on youtube! Allthough they need to work on the pronounciation. But still fantastic!
Not bad for their age, there is obviously a lot of talent there. This is the best version I could find on youtube. They could work on their vowels more I think, to make them more pure. But very well done.
We're a high school choir currently attempting to sing this song. This is a really good rendition of the song and I give you extreme props for doing this so well for a junior high choir. You're extremely talented and I encourage all of you to continue singing. <3
I wish we sounded that good!

This version is from Palestrina, the original composer. He has beautiful compositions from the 1500s.

Adoramus te, Christe,
et benedicimus tibi,
quia per sanctam crucem tuam
redemisti mundum.
Qui passus es pro nobis,
Domine, Domine, miserere nobis.

@blahwhocares1 Cool. Why don't you take into the fact that this is a choir made up of 7th and 8th grade musicians.

This is the best performance of Palastrina's "Adoramus te Christe" that I have ever heard.

Very talented group. My concert choir was going to sing this for Festival, but the director gave up. Our sopranos weren't the best.
