I was about to update till I saw this

I hesitated to update for months, but had an offer for the free NES game.

I finally updated, it worked, and was able to get Mega Man 2 FREE!

My Wii was from July 2007 (the batch with the updated wrist strap)

I updated the wii like a week ago to 4.2, it got me in a bad moment, I didn't upgrade to 4.2 via the message but when I tried to get into wii shop channel at 1 am when I half-asleep it said there was an upgrade for wii shop channel, so I just slecte yes and... fuck ¬¬ 22 games were lost

I don't know much about this update, but you could just use BannerBomb to install HBC, just by putting it on your SD card, and going to "Wii Options > Data Management > SD Card", and BannerBomb should automaticly launch.

In the meantime, I never update my Wii, unless a patched version of the patch (if that makes any sense) comes out, much like with 4.0.

Yeah. I was going to get my Wii modded at a friend's birthday party a few days ago. The guy who was modding it didn't realize 4.2 came out. He had to back out about halfway through and revert things back to normal. Until he can figure out a way to revert back to an older firmware, no mods for me. :(

I updated my Wii with no ill effects that would affect the overall useability. The only thing that I hated about this update was The Homebrew Channel gets deleted! I just use The Homebrew Channel not for pirating of course but for everything else. No I don't have a modified Wii, just a Wii with an unauthorized channel installed.
