@tinasdimples well it sounded like he was screeching in pain at the 27 second and a bit before i have a quaker and i've never heard that before im not saying hes hurt it sounds like it i dont know everything about quakers but im just wondering
My little girl is only 5 months old and she is already toilet trained, comes on recall and allows me to turn her onto her back. I've found her to be a really fast learner, each "trick" only taking me a few days (i've only had her for 3 weeks). Now I want to teach her to swing upside down!!
He's not enjoying you tickling him,no offense but your jerking your bird off and you probably don't even know it.That's why he likes what your doing to him .Seriously,it might sound like I'm being funny but parrots have a strong sex drive.IF,they don't have a mate, your finger will become it's mate.I had a Lorikeet that use to hump the living crap out of my socks and slippers. There was no particular season, this little guy was on automatic all the time ! I have a video on my utube page(Ricky).CIO!
@demmylowther Thanks for you comment, but I know the difference. My wife and I run a parrot rescue (currently housing about 30 birds) and we are well aware of what it looks like when a bird is masturbating. We are also pretty familiar with Seymore's behavior, and trust me, this is not what he looks like when he is sexing himself!
Oh he is precious <3 While working at the pet store, I came across and fell in love with a little blue quaker who barks and growls at people. So long in that madhouse, and he was convinced he was a dog XD. I love parrots. I have a cockatiel :)
Well, he didn't like it at first! But then after I started scratching his neck he decided that I was doing a good thing lol! Plus it's a big game with lots of excitement, right up his alley!
@SilverPaladin2 My quaker starts crying when i put her upside down but of course i always put my hand under otherwise she'd think i was ganna drop her.
I was responding to someone else who posted here who had lost their quaker. I have a quaker named Ripley. They are naughty birds but it is the acceptable kind of naughty.
My Cockatiel demanded scritches by banging her beak on my shoulder, fluffing up her head and neck feathers, with her eyes closed. When she had had enough, she'd move away.
My Quaker would fluff his head up, close his eyes and let me rub his head untill my fingers started cramping. He also loved having his belly tickled, but I was never allowed to touch under his wings.
as if! do you know anything about parrots?! scratching head is like there faveourite thing ever and with the on the back thing mine done it ever since i had it, somebirds like it some don't
I impressed I don't know how you got it to do that. Mine won't even let me groom it without a fight when molts and gets those hard white tips on it's feathers.
Aww..Lol When I Got My Quacker He Had RaN Or Flew From our Neighbors, and Two Our house, So they Let us Keep him, Yep. He Was Fond, and Protective of me. lol I Got him when i was 11, and he'd attack anyone that touched me and if i screamed or something lol.
I think maybe we had him for about 6 months before we could do this. We keep him flighted now and we are having to re-do all the training lol. they get bossy when they can fly away!
Thanks! My wife did a great job of getting him comfortable with us mauling him! It does take a while, and we started off with doing the flip, then we started bang! (bang bang your dead!) and sometimes I can put him in the crook of my arm and get almost through rock-a-bye baby before he moves. it's really cute! Quakers Rock!
lol awh.. thats so adorable... hahahaha.. my quaker doesnt lay down like that on my hands.. it scares her.... the high five thing is cute :) it looks like hes really enjoying the scratching, haha, 5 stars :)
my quaker also loves having her tummy scratched hehe
