Its possible to be agaisnt the policies of a Jewish nation and not be anti-semetic. The SF Film Festival should be ashamed of their actions-by providing a platform of hatred against Israel-- especially when they rejected a film screening about the lives of Jews in Arab countries! Are you guys even serious right now? Federation gave MINIMAL funding to this event before they even knew this video was going to be screened because it funds SEVERAL cultural programs in support of their mission statement of community building community. Of every dollar raised, 40% goes DIRECTLY TO ISRAEL. Why would you deny your gift to help those in need in our community? Your message will go nowhere and hurt those who actually need it.

It wouldn't matter if the Fed gave $1. They allowed their name to be used as co-sponsor of the Film Festival, granting legitimacy to the hate groups involved. As soon as the Fed heard that the Festival was going to be a vehicle for defaming Israel, they should have pulled their co-sponsorship. The Fed is choosing an anti-Israel film festival over continued support from the community for their otherwise decent programs.

It is shocking that the Jewish Federation would lend its name and help fund a film festival that shows films that demonize and defame Israel and incite loathing for Jews. Where is our self-respect?
