  • this is just maginificent

  • it feels like i'm reading moby dick..

  • I think that genre is doom-bluegrass.

  • hey i enjoyed this music a lot. can you please tell me your favourite tracks from this band?

  • i think it's post. Not post-rock. But that's not the point.

  • @pjlk00 post-human?

  • It's not a video and it's not a song.

    They're an experience.

  • @IBstagg

    See; there`s where you`re wrong. It`s a song.

  • If you appreciate this, go and listen immediatly to LAU, a trio from Scotland - guitar, accordion and violin - they are incredible!

  • Wow, very beautiful. This is one of those occasions where I don't fall asleep during a long song. Those violins really compliment the guitars. I actually like this even better than Godspeed you black emperor.

  • Sorry World and Universe, i can't hear you two because of the awesomeness of this music. Fuck cars, fuck metro, fuck people, fuck trains, fuck every single noise, this and some headphones beat anything. True peace of spirit.

  • Fucking awesome!!!

  • excellent a relax complete for you

  • That great !!! All cd's of DT.

  • this really is a beautiful clip. kudos to whoever put it together. imo their best song off their best album. see them live if you ever get the chance.

  • Yea, i see your point, it's just easier to have a guideline.

  • I love this music, but how can it be categorized?

    Folk, alternative, instrumental?

  • @DaZeDmerlin Why categorize it?

  • @truckstopmedia

    why not?

  • @truckstopmedia ......although technically it's post-rock..........

  • @truckstopmedia i find categorizing music into genres very useful in my job. think - what would you do if you wanted to trawl for some new folk bands but the genre "folk" didnt exist?

  • @geoffhead111 If you really wanted to find it then you'd look harder :)

  • @DaZeDmerlin It's Post Rock like Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Ros

  • @RBG4lif3 yeah thats broad term lot of people use to describe it, but this music evo lved out of a line of australian alternate rock, these guys were in number of australian rock bands prior, & at times their sound can get more aggressive than lot of other post rock stuff...

  • @RBG4lif3 Sigur Ros is post-rock?

  • @DaZeDmerlin Indie Music

  • @DaZeDmerlin alternative folk instrumental.

  • @DaZeDmerlin Post Rock, Folk

  • @DaZeDmerlin post-rock.

  • @DaZeDmerlin

It is post rock, but still unique

  • @DaZeDmerlin when I imported the album from the cd into iTunes it said 'Maritime Post-rock'. Still agree, no real need to overcategorise music, I'd just say something folkish, even though I find this quite unique music.

  • @DaZeDmerlin don't forget the post- prefix

  • @DaZeDmerlin guess some would say post-rock, but that emcombasses a hell of a lot

  • @DaZeDmerlin Some say it's math rock

  • @DaZeDmerlin very simple: post rock (or if you prefer: instrumental rock).

  • @DaZeDmerlin post-folk, lol.

  • That's simply amazing.

  • and serene power

  • pure melancholy...wow

  • Saw them last @ Perth Festival---they played Ocean Songs in full--absolutely superb .....love them

  • Zarpadamente colgado!!!... y hermoso!

  • oh. . how much i love this song...

  • laneway 2010 in auckland :-)

  • I fuckin love it, LOVE it, love it. Warren rocks my fucking world.

-just a dude in Portland OR.

  • Perfect.

  • Weather permitting, every year around this time (fall) I make sure to end every work week outside around the fire with this record playing. Of all the bands I've enjoyed over the years, I have absolutely never EVER gotten tired of hearing the Dirty Three.

  • Wow, I haven't thought about these guys in about ten years, when someone made me a tape of them. I was amazed then, and am amazed now, as I rediscover how good they are.

  • Now I'm also remembering I saw them open for Low here in NYC, in '98, I think.

  • This is super good! I enjoyed and marveled at how well the video goes with the music. Really powerful indeed.

    Thank you very much!

  • Beautiful.

  • art

  • the Dirty Three are the most gorgeous composers and musicians of our time.

  • the first time this song did this, I never really listened to this, .. Truly beautiful...

  • Although they have done a great deal of good music after this, I still find this album the most cohesive and transcendent piece of work they have ever done. I recommend buying it on vinyl, as the album sides have definite beginnings and ends, just as all good albums should, and used to. I bought this just after returning from a 10 day visit to Cumberland Island off of the coast of southern Georgia, and it's sounds reminded me of the sea I was so reluctant to leave behind.

  • los amo

  • perfect and more. Alive.

  • Perfect

  • So stark and brutally real..send shivers down me....beautiful.

  • Indeed it does... Such a sad melody

  • This is so amazing- I've only just started listening to Dirty Three recently... but already I'm transfixed

  • Grandi!

  • Is this off of the "Ocean Songs Album"? A?

  • Yes.

  • Nice video.

  • Great song :)
