first off, I clipped carmine slightly. He was able to fly, but to get to his cage, he relied on me. He then began to look for me whenever he wanted to go back to the cage. To start out with the finger training, I put him in a small room with me each day so he got used to being around me.
Carmine's so fluffy! I'm gonna train my parakeet, Cheeka, hopefully to do that. You're very lucky that your parakeet can do that!

The best way to train it is to put some food in your hand and let him/her eat out of your palm. They will eventually sit on you.
