Thumbs up for this beautiful show, i've been raceboarding 20 years plus but i don't lean that much ... maybe i focus too much on speed (more speed=less leaning, depending on road holding of the edges) Come take a look at my channel; i've got a carving sled and feel free to post your comment ! You have never seen this extreme sledding before..
Great video, did a good job on it and looks like a very interesting way to ride. Myself, on the other hand, cannot see the enjoyment of such extreme carving. I love carving down the mountain with speed, and that there looks like you loose a lot of that speed. But, no matter, if you have fun doing it, then keep shredding!
Keep in mind, I am the third rider. I do not ride "Extreme Snowboard" . I ride more of a "Toes to the Nose" or "Bomber" style. Although on this day I was somehow more motivated to touch snow. Peer pressure I guess :)
This pitch may be steeper than you think. Speed was not an issue. A rider need to carver pretty hard to keep speed in check.
Awesome carving! I noticed you guys are able to link several EC's in a row without losing speed...are these trails steep blacks? I have a lot of trouble with carving beyond an easy blue because I find myself going too fast. Post more videos like this please!
I don't recall if this was labelled a black diamond or blue. It was fairly steep and this is helpful indeed in keeping the momentum. I am the rider in the white and blue (looks like a tie) so I am not the extreme style rider(s).
Matt... depends how many days and how quick you catch on. I can keep up with these guys now on these runs and I've been carving for two years. But there's a fear factor you have to get past in order to believe that the board's edge will hold you.
I only got a few runs in this year with my new baird, but your right, you really need tojust keep saying to yourself: "have faith in the board, it wont let you fall"
well done guys; i need only a swoard like in the video and than, who knows, maybe could begin carving, seriously:)Let's see at Extreme Carving Session '08 in Zinal, Suisse!!! lol
I am not positive of the other two riders in the video. I do not race. I don't think they do either. I have raced occasionally. It is of little interest to me.
right on the alpine snowboard race comunity is pretty small in north america i was just wondern who you guys wer and if ive posibly raced with you. nice video man euro carvs are fun and look absolutly sick when they are perfected
I'm from Buffalo NY so I had to mail order my gear from Bomberonline and they have been great. Thanks for the other links I'll check them out. BTW, what angle do they set their bindings at?
Cool, have you found bomberonlinedotcom and carversalmanacdotcom ? Lots of good info there along with extremecarvingdotcom in Europe. They pretty much wrote the book on EC Enjoy!!
First rider is using a Sword, made in Europe. Second is a custom Donek made in CO, a 201cm if I recall correctly and the third is a custom "Tinkler" 185cm.

why do you drag your whole body on the ground? seems like it would slow you down too much
