  • Thumbs up for this beautiful show, i've been raceboarding 20 years plus but i don't lean that much ... maybe i focus too much on speed (more speed=less leaning, depending on road holding of the edges) Come take a look at my channel; i've got a carving sled and feel free to post your comment ! You have never seen this extreme sledding before..

    Cheers !

  • why do you drag your whole body on the ground? seems like it would slow you down too much

  • why is the donek so long, better edge hold of something

  • Great video, did a good job on it and looks like a very interesting way to ride. Myself, on the other hand, cannot see the enjoyment of such extreme carving. I love carving down the mountain with speed, and that there looks like you loose a lot of that speed. But, no matter, if you have fun doing it, then keep shredding!

  • Keep in mind, I am the third rider. I do not ride "Extreme Snowboard" . I ride more of a "Toes to the Nose" or "Bomber" style. Although on this day I was somehow more motivated to touch snow. Peer pressure I guess :)

This pitch may be steeper than you think. Speed was not an issue. A rider need to carver pretty hard to keep speed in check.

    Thanks for your comments!!

  • ha, i see you guys doing that all the time!!!

  • this isnt the original version of this song

    what is it?

  • you call that snowboarding? you bail on every turn and have to get back up.

  • Awesome carving! I noticed you guys are able to link several EC's in a row without losing speed...are these trails steep blacks? I have a lot of trouble with carving beyond an easy blue because I find myself going too fast. Post more videos like this please!

  • I don't recall if this was labelled a black diamond or blue. It was fairly steep and this is helpful indeed in keeping the momentum. I am the rider in the white and blue (looks like a tie) so I am not the extreme style rider(s).

  • how long does it take to get to this level if u have never done alpine snowboarding before, biut ski very well?

  • Matt... depends how many days and how quick you catch on. I can keep up with these guys now on these runs and I've been carving for two years. But there's a fear factor you have to get past in order to believe that the board's edge will hold you.

  • thanks man

I only got a few runs in this year with my new baird, but your right, you really need tojust keep saying to yourself: "have faith in the board, it wont let you fall"

    thanks

  • at 1.26 is that at Winter Park ski resort in CO? it sure looks like it

  • Nope, all the footage is at Mt Rose.

    Thanks for watching!

  • bomberonline represen'in

  • well done guys; i need only a swoard like in the video and than, who knows, maybe could begin carving, seriously:)Let's see at Extreme Carving Session '08 in Zinal, Suisse!!! lol

  • i call the carve from now on the nap taker....lol

  • Sweet dream :)

  • do you guys do free carve only or do you guys race

  • I am not positive of the other two riders in the video. I do not race. I don't think they do either. I have raced occasionally. It is of little interest to me.

    Thanks.

  • right on the alpine snowboard race comunity is pretty small in north america i was just wondern who you guys wer and if ive posibly raced with you. nice video man euro carvs are fun and look absolutly sick when they are perfected

  • Lol

  • haha. Now I am going to start curving like that. I don't remember having such a nice powder last year.

  • NICE dude

  • good shit! thats awesome!

  • Can't wait for ski season, sitting in squaw and drooling over this... got my prior wcr metal ready to go!!!!

  • nice

  • I'm from Buffalo NY so I had to mail order my gear from Bomberonline and they have been great. Thanks for the other links I'll check them out. BTW, what angle do they set their bindings at?

  • Cool, have you found bomberonlinedotcom and carversalmanacdotcom ? Lots of good info there along with extremecarvingdotcom in Europe. They pretty much wrote the book on EC Enjoy!!

  • I'm learning alpine (have Donek 162, TD2 bindings, Suzuka boots) and I know how hard this is. Great job!

  • ah, ok! a friend uses a Sword,too... extremecarving(dot)com -- I have a F2 Silberpfeil and I think it's not possible with this board to do so...

  • which boards are used here?

  • First rider is using a Sword, made in Europe. Second is a custom Donek made in CO, a 201cm if I recall correctly and the third is a custom "Tinkler" 185cm.

  • why do alpine snowboarders wear ski boots?

  • some do, however most use hard snowboard boots,

short answer? = power and precise control

  • im an alpiner and so i no its quite hard to carve so well done in tmaiin this vid im impressed

  • thank you! the EC riders in the video are definitely expert riders with years of experience
