  • Scratch that last comment, sorry saw the APC's at the bottom of rack!

  • Do you have any sort of UPC? Or did I overlook that

  • Def like you setup bro! Very impressive. You ever consider going cisco for your switches? Or you more of a plug and play. Cause having the freedom with CLI is amazing.. Im looking for a portable ac unit for my server room. Any recommendations?

  • How much email load do you handle a day? Or how many users with 6 mail servers? I assume you have filtering, smtp gateway, etc, etc. Can you give a little more of a break down on 6 mail servers. Thanks.

  • You need to replace the batteries on that 2nd UPS.

  • this is atc to datacenter we are ready for takeoff

  • what is in your data center

  • Umm...what's your electric bill like? lol

  • Hey, you need a VOIP system to top things off.

  • What are your network cable configuration? Are they all straight thru cable or some of them are crass talk cable. Please answer! Thanks in advance.

  • @4470REZA Hello, first off all, the entire architecture consists of Category 6 cabling. There is no cable in cross talk, each server has two network cards and is connected to the back of the patch panel and then connected to a master switch. This switch communicates directly to the backbone switch and then through another patch panel and then to the routers.

    Pleasure.

  • Really tidy. Q. 50Mbps up and down stream?

Do you know what your ISPs contention is out of interest.

  • @srg774 Currently, we use a fiber optic connection 80/80. Regards.

  • what's the sgi things for?

  • how much you pay for electricity?

  • @alkhema17 The payment of electricity is between $ 300 and $ 400 each month. The air conditioner also ride during the winter period. The air conditioner consumes almost as much as the rack.

  • looks like thats where they created frankenstein!

  • This is probably my 50th time of watching this video. I get so mesmerized with the clean layout. What cable ties did you use for the network cables coming out of the rack on top? Great Video!! Two thumbs up!

  • @dawgp0und Hey hello!

I used standard tie-wrap sold in all good stores. Just be careful to not over-tightening the tie-wrap to avoid damaging the wiring. In addition, I added brackets to the wall to support the cables. Soon I'll post a new video where you can see the back of the cabinet.

  • @HyperwebTechnologies Thanks for the reply. I can't wait to see the new video. That's inspirational for someone who takes care of their equipment. Great Video as always.

  • @dawgp0und Hi, The data centers were moved. I'll post soon a new video.

  • @HyperwebTechnologies Cool. I can't wait for it. I just got myself an IBM half-rack (23U) for $100. I don't know if that's a good price but hey it's IBM. Also I didn't no they make black CAT6 cable. They look sweet and stealth. Keep up the good work. Thumbs up! FYI I got 2get a new internet connection. I have ATT 6Mbps/768Kbps (highest speed) I can only a web server serving texts and small images otherwise i get bottlenecked. I can't afford colocation. Anyways I can't wait for the new video!! ;)

  • @mattluvsvox921 The cabinet with the server and the switch costs about $ 25 000. The backup batteries = $ 2000. Cabling, routers and air conditioning system = $ 3,000. Installing the breaker with electrical input = $ 1000. Electric generator backup in case of failure = $ 2500. It is necessary to calculate $ 500 per month for Internet connection and $ 400 per month for electricity. Add to that 2 computers for monitoring in real time the status of each server and redundant Internet connections.

  • Awesome video! Never seen such a greatly kept small home data center like this. Awesome wiring, and organization.

Just curious what kind of services are you running from here?

  • @steji113 Hello and thank you for the good comments. Currently the datacenter is used exclusively for email. All servers are clusters of email. So, 7 mail servers and 4 DNS servers. I host my own public dns (Bind).

Eventually, I will add 2 linux web servers with load balancing.

    New video coming soon ...

  • whats the big box above the air con ?

  • @MrPuddleduck2010 hello, the large box above the air conditioning is the electrical input. The batteries and air conditioners are connected. There is also a cold water pipe with a valve and eventually installed an air conditioner running cold water.

  • Great Video. Sounds like a jet engine. Personally, having a home data center is cool but there has to be a business justification since the electricity bill would be a major factor. I can imagine that your electricity bill is off the hook. In my case, I'm looking for a 23u rack to build a web search engine. BTW I love the clean cabling and how everything is laid out. You must a engineer. Those are qualities of an engineer. Anyways Great Video!! Two Thumbs Up.

  • @dawgp0und "You must a engineer." You don't have to be an engineer to keep clean cabling ;)

  • @mathieupoussin Forgive me. I mean no disrespect. I was just complimenting your data center and the clean cabling.

  • @dawgp0und Thx for your great comment, I appreciate !!
