    Depends on your genes, body structure, nutrition, effort you put in, cardio workout and many other factors but you might see some results after 2 weeks.

  • As I said - it depends on many factors. I take myself as an example, in 3 months I had 6 pack abs and was pretty ripped, BUT my workout consisted of everday hard weight training + running at night + strict diet and I really transformed in 3 monts, though 2 weeks are ENOUGH to see SOME results.

    I haven't said he'll become Pudzinowski in 2 weeks,

    Remember, results are the fastest in the beginning because muscles are starting to activate, later results are a lot ahrder to achieve ;)

  • yes it does effect your wrists, some people have stronger joints and can take more pressure but many cant so its best to keep your wrists parallel with your forearms say by doing them on your knuckles or fingers or by getting push up bars. Its not about being a wuss its about not hurting yourself needlessly

  • Its harder to do it with the fists, you get a better workout and you keep your wrists safe.. well this only matters if pushups are your main workout, its like having correct form for using dumbells you shouldn't lock your arm, and that doesn't help you in getting more workout it may however injure you.

    If however your just going to do them once in a while it really doesn't matter too much.

  • I'd let your muscles relax and do pushups every other day (at least). Even if you are not sore, your muscles may be ripped and need time to recover. Good luck.

    Me personoly I do 25 reps rest 30-45 seconds, and repeat this on a average of 100 push-ups in one sitting a day ocassionally doing 200

  • It's actually been proven that when you do push-ups whether it be face down or slightly forward, you are working different muscles in the shoulder. So neither one is actually wrong.

  • I had the same problem, you should put some ice on your shoulder from time to time(i do it for 15 minutes 2-3 /week) and let it rest for few weeks, remember to avoid advanced push ups like 90 degree push up once you get back to your routine, all that did help me to solve that problem which may get worse if you don't do anything and continue your routine.

  • Yes, that can help. Drinking milk is good for your bones because of the calcium. However, being good at push ups comes from doing a lot of them. Repitition helps the most.

  • Well milk is great for protien but I don't reccomend drinking it straight before working out.. just after or with something like whey protein

  • Well man milke is ment for calves not people so if you're after whey protein the best way to get is to buy it in bag but be carefull since some of these contain 80% glucose or some other sugar. Eggs are superb however you need to be carefull since factory farming involve feeding hens with their own shit with added antibiotics so try to go for free range eggs. Averall just try to avoid precesed food and you'll be ok.

  • Fist is good but can be very uncomfortable... Its reccomended that you use push up bars which are bars that are arched so your hands aren't hitting the ground and you can go deeper..

    i use stands to keep my wrists stationary to avoid injury, putting your hands flat risks hurting your wrists. the stands also allow your pushup to go deeper for a better overall pushup. i dont look towards the floor when i do pushups, i look forward so my chest can almost touch the ground

    3-5 sets of 8-12 reps

    a LOT of resistance

    that will give u better results

  • I've tried to get in shape and started doing 500 push ups a day. Problem is, it's tiring, I did a lot of them wrong and I wouldn't do other exercises. My shoulder is sore, so I've stopped doing them for a few days. Now I'll concentrate on jogging and abdominal exercises and only do 50 push ups a day.

    do it in sets, iv done it for a while now so i do super sets of 20.

    now, start from what pressup range you can reach "very comfortably", i started with 12.

    you want to do from 5 to 25 reps in a set.

    do one set, have a small rest, do another set and youl notice itl start to build on you.

    keep doing this until you cant do anymore.

    the reason for this is it allows the muscles a break to relax and then re pump. ITS GOOD!

  • I don't know how healthy it is but I like doing pushups just after waking up.

    I just drop from the bad onto the floor and start working out.

    This way I don't feel any pain or strain as if I'm on painkillers or something.

    I simply keep on doing it as long as my muscles work.

  • yeah dont look forward when your nose touches thats a much better way, more consistent with each push up, but if you're looking for a tougher kind of pushup try to do a 2-3 seconds down, then 2-3 seconds up, it takes out all the momentum and is a real muscle builder

  • Just do push ups form the side into a mirror and you have to be perfectly straight.

  • i do sets of diamond pushups. 4 sets. 1 minute rest between sets. first set 25 reps, second set 25 reps, third set 25 reps and the last set 35 reps. if i go all out i can do 70 diamond pushups in a row. all the way down all the way up.

  • As many as you can, just keep trying to improve the amount you can do. You can mix it up as well and do Close Grip Push ups, Elevated Leg Push ups, Fist Push ups, Depth Push Ups, etc.

    Push ups affect your triceps and chest, you won't see a noticable difference in your arm size.. unless your triceps were already rediculously huge.

    and even if they do thin out, lean strong muscle is better than bulky, awquard muscle.. hate to break it to you.
