@DrunkenMormon2302 you can't compare crowds in general to the one in this video. The crowd at Madison Square Garden is always incredibly passionate about wrestling.
everybody right scott stener is one of the best but the best that wwe ever had? neaaah wahts up with the undertaker, jeff hardy, goldberg, johncena, randy orton or mabey the old one's like:mankind or andre the giant or hulk hogan and dont forget stone cold steve austin and the rock masked kane and mabey shawn michaels! dont forget is people but scott is awesome too never forget it!
actually to be honest, this was NOT his wwe debut, this was his return cause back in the early 90's him and his brother rick were tag teaming and at the time, scott steiner had long hair and wasn't soo buffed as he is now. so technically this video is truthfully from his return to the wwe rather then his debut : )
Did you all know, that that's not a debut, that's a return to WWE. He wrestle with his brother Rick in WWF. (Sorry, if i write wrong, my einglish is not good)
This is my problem w/ WWE. They would get guys that come in, & get this kinda pop on the 1st day, & they ruin them. It doesn't make sense to bring in a star, & put it out like a camp fire. From huge debut in MSG w/ a thunderous ovation & a World Title match 2 months later, & turning that, into Test's personal slave or some BS like that. WTF?!?!?
@CBac55 The problem they had with Scott is that the Steiners dont tolerate jobbers. They wear out their welcome soon because even in bouts they must lose they show their opponents that if it were no script they would kick their ass. Scott brings reality to wrestling in as much as it can tolerate and when he gets beat down its for real because thats the depth of the jealousy. Rick is not as extreme as Scott. What u get with Scott is his real view as in his attack on Ric Flair.
@CBac55 In other words Scott does not accept that he must lose to an Edge or the Mize. If he had to inorder to keep his contract he puts a real hurt on these fakes. When Triple H and the lockerroom jumped Scott it was real. Scott does not follow the Kayfab since there is no real competition to the WWE now (TNA) Scott cannot get traction but he has a lot of fans, Notice the wrestlers he does not shoot and realize these are the ones he has respect for.
Take a look at the Steiners vs. the Road Warriors. They totally outclassed them early on to show everyone who was for real and who were bodybuilding jobbers. The Road Warriors were considered invincible but even with Kayfab the moves the Steiners were putting demonstrated the different skill levels. Scott takes offense at having to carry Fakes and so the lockerrooms turn on him and the scriptwriters tire of him for taking his own way and hurting the fakes.
legend of the game. if they just made steiner a good guy more often he would of got far in the wwe. still nothing beats the good old days of steiner and the nwo. my favourite wrester by far.
i love steiner back in the day, not the most technically gifted wrestlers but he was so funny and absolutely brilliant with the mic, made things fun again even though his wwe stint wasnt great ill never forget him for his time at wcw
What a huge pop that Scott Steiner got. He came into the WWE with the best of intentions and the fans cheering for him. Cut to two months later at the Royal Rumble 2003 and the whole debacle that was Steiner/Triple H and Steiner's pop goes down the tubes. It seemed like a good match on paper, a champion that is all high-and-mighty on himself and thought he was better than everyone vs an up-and-coming challenger that is double tough and incredibly muscled.
@JayZilla2830 it's because they had him working with triple h, I like the game...SOMETIMES but he was never a spectacular worker that could pull a good match out of an injured guy, he was fast and he was average to getting good but then he had his quad injury and was never the same...slow repetitive move set, doesn't really adapt to his opponent...they needed someone who was high profile and a good worker, but they weren't building guys like y2j who can work with anyone successfully.
@demolitapower In the Royal Rumble match, Steiner blew up (got tired) a few minutes into the match and he just eventually performed endless belly-to-belly suplexes on Triple H and botched a double-underhook powerbomb. It wasn't Triple H's fault that match was bad. Steiner just had a really off night.
Actually that's not his WWE-Debut, it's more like a comeback. He already competed there between 1992 and 1994 in the Tag Team Division with his brother, holding the Tag Titles twice.
@Crymson1 ex-wcw wrestlers like steve austin, jericho, chris benoit, eddie guerro, dean malenko, paul wight, ray traylor or booker T? cause yea, none of those guys ever saw any action in wwe... dipshit.
@maxdecphoenix Austin, Jericho, Benoit, Guerrero, Malenko, Wight, Saturn and Traylor left WCW while it was still functioning. Vince had no reason to spite them. Those who stuck with WCW? Yeah, that's a different story. Guys like Booker T and Goldberg were too 'over' with the fans for him to buttfuck. Guys like Steiner and DDP? Nope. Wasted talent.
@Crymson1 oh so it's gone from ex-wcw wrestlers as a whole, to wcw wrestlers that stayed in wcw because THEY WERE ON A FUCKING CONTRACT. how is it that you gripe about wwe wasting talent, yet the fact everyone of those guys i mentioned were doing fuck all in wcw. jericho was a cruiserweight punching bag for the nwo. benoit, austin, guerro & malenko were wallowing in undercard darkmatches for wcw, but their first days in wwe they were allowed to be more.
@maxdecphoenix Like I said, it seems you're very hostile about this issue. What's wrong? Is everything OK?
In any event, the average wrestling contract is not very long. Those who were in WCW for an extended period were there because they continued to sign new contracts. Vince dealt differently with those who jumped ship rather than those who remained loyal to WCW until the end. The former were utilized well; the latter, not so much.
@maxdecphoenix For the record, Jericho was one of the prime players in the cruiserweight division; Austin was Television Champion several times; and Benoit, Guerrero, Saturn and Malenko, always midcarders at the least throughout their time in WCW, were in the midst of receiving a major push when they asked to be released from their contracts. Benoit was WCW champion at the time, in fact.
then you got ray traylor who was a big name in the wwf, goes to wcw and he was lucky to get a match jobbing on wcw Saturday Night as "bubba ray" or was used as powerbomb fodder for Nash, but he goes back in wwf and he's pulling an awesome angle with paul wight as an enforcer for the corporation.
i never liked wen wwe did ppv in this arena which were a good number cuz of how close the entrance was thought it was cool at first but not so much anymore
@nwolwo That arena is Mecca,The Most Famous Arena in the World, Madison Square Garden....it does seemed cramped at times, but it was always the home arena for WWF/WWE, and it will be... if you go to a show there, the atmosphere is insane (especially if it's televised) Peace
If WCW is so weak how come the top wrestlers n WWE History(Stone Cold,Triple H, Edge,Y2J,Big Show,Undertaker,Kane,Booker T) came from that defunct organization.Food for thought!
@Pimpczar2011 WCW utterly failed to tap the potential of any of those, just as they failed to make proper use of guys like Bret Hart who came over from WWF.
ECW actually produced a huge number of WWF stars as well.
guys forgive me but part of the attitude was MONSTERS and that included watching oversized Roided guys wrestling, its more than just a promo- look how big Steiner is, loved watching him, BIG ROCK not the lean one, Big Stone Cold, BIG TRIPLE H etc AND their attitudes and wrestling ability
@RDavie76 I agree and thats weird isn't it? He carried Goldberg in their WCW matches - and 2 all the fans what I mean is he called the match- Steiner knew in ring psychology and had it, don't know why he didn't pan out in the E
this is his return, but its his debut as the genetic freak. HOLLA IF YA HEAR ME!!!

If WCW is so weak how come the top wrestlers n WWE History(Stone Cold,Triple H, Edge,Y2J,Big Show,Undertaker,Kane,Booker T) came from that defunct organization.Food for thought!
Pimpczar2011 6 months ago
@Pimpczar2011 WCW utterly failed to tap the potential of any of those, just as they failed to make proper use of guys like Bret Hart who came over from WWF.
ECW actually produced a huge number of WWF stars as well.

@Pimpczar2011 All those characters bar y2j and booker wer made in wwe. Wcw didnt know what to do with the rest of them. Thats why it was weak!

guys forgive me but part of the attitude was MONSTERS and that included watching oversized Roided guys wrestling, its more than just a promo- look how big Steiner is, loved watching him, BIG ROCK not the lean one, Big Stone Cold, BIG TRIPLE H etc AND their attitudes and wrestling ability

It was great when he first showed-up, but he just couldn't hang with the best in the WWE. His matches were terrible.
RDavie76 6 months ago
@RDavie76 I agree and thats weird isn't it? He carried Goldberg in their WCW matches - and 2 all the fans what I mean is he called the match- Steiner knew in ring psychology and had it, don't know why he didn't pan out in the E
