Yes, water will spin and flow better in a vortex when being poured out. But it doesn't require something to force it into that motion. If you put one of these in a bottle and then tried to pour it out it would flow slower than just an open hole. The same is true for the intake on a car. At light throttle there isn't enough airflow for it to be a restriction, or for it to matter, but at full throttle it'll be a restriction and make you loose power.
@NBSV1 when you put one of these in the bottle just like you said its like putting it in your exhaust not in the intake.. and have totally no effect in your car system.. puting this in the intake starts the rotary motion of air just like the extra small motion to start the vortex in bottle...
@jopinoypower The point is there isn't a part forcing the water to start spinning. It does it on it's own. If you put something in there and try to force it to spin it might spin, but won't flow as well. Something like this is so cheap that if they actually worked they would be on cars from the factory. And, if it's fuel injected and before the MAF it isn't going to work anyway since most of the MAF's are designed to straighten the air flow so it gets a better reading.
@NBSV1 you should try it again.. this vortx in the bottle does not start 100% unless u start it with a small force ..... do some reaserch some car have this already...
@jopinoypower Yes, but once it starts it keeps going on its own. This isn't a new concept and they would only cost a couple cents to make. So, espically with car makers looking for better mileage they'd be slapping this on everything if they worked. I've never seen one on a factory car. But, I have seen, and tested, several things that are supposed to make more power and at best break even. The joy of working at a shop with a chassis dyno is you get to try out stuff like this. :)
@NBSV1 you seems like a smart person.. try to observe the car manufacturer they are buisness minded.. if they make a big leap on fuel efficient car its not good for their buisness.. they need to give it slowly.. go back to car history they always come up with fuel efficient car each year....
The next new gimic will be no more vortex insert but, rather the intake tube will be like the inside of a miller lite bottle neck. They will claim 200 HP and the sticker it comes with will add 5 more. EPIC FAIL!
Oh I see you have built what we call in the manufacturing industry, a cylclone separator. As your fins spin the air in the tube it will separate the heavier fuel from the air by cyntrifigal force.
What a shame though, an engine requires the mixture of fuel and air for top performane, you have just undone all the work the design eng. did for that engine.
I have a tornado on my f 150 double cab= the truck gets around 18-22 mpg combined city and hiway. I had on a mercedes c 280 and that car would haul ass. ( straigh 2.8 six cylinder engine)
I am looking for one for my '04 350 z...I do think they work.
and I imagine there are quite a few inovations waiting to be added to cars but legal restrictions, etc probably prohibit many.
thats great........yes it will work......spinning air flow helps mix the fuel vaper with oxygen........hot rodders been using simular things for many years.......used to glue turtleshapes in the intake of the engine.........very sure flow bench proof was done many times.....
plus auto makers do do this...........look at the shapes of the carb intakes........

And if you are convinced it does- lets put £10 grand bet on it and have the car to a scientific testing place.....I could do with some more money for my holidays.

How does modifying the direction of airflow help at all? Also, I would think that placing an object like this would block some of the air, resulting in less air getting into the engine, which I think would reduce engine performance.
I understand your perception, If you have a bottle filled with water pour it with a corcular motion, and compare without motion., ther is power in vortex, just look at tornados.
@jadetraveler it stirs the air fuel mixture, hence the gradiential divergence of the air fuel mixture is closer to zero. hence cleaner, faster, combustion.
stock air filters that this car designer put in cars has more restriction! How can a Vortex valve resrict air? sory bro but i have 16 km/liter and the vortx valve helps to achieve it.
The typhoon is just one of the example of the power of vortex. a circular motion of air that self sustaining and gains momentum as it rotates. vortex is nature. you put the principle in your car by making vortx valve using a tin can, its free no scam.
I tell you I dont believe in this stuff, however I have a scooter which has a open direct carburator, and this will defenetly help in that application. and to make this for free?! out of can of paint! game on?!
What has the effect of gravity and water got to do with it? You have put this vortex, which doesn't work anyway, in front of the throttle body. When the air reaches the throttle body it will just go back to its normal flow. The only way you are going to increase efficiency in this is to get some more efficient carbs such as a set of bike carbs, one small carb for each cylinder for better ballanced air flow.. Or convert it to fuel injection.
To give you anther idea of Power of Vortex. Another example: What is the shape of the tornado and storm? The vortex is a natural thing. The flow of water, air, anything is much stronger and faster with vortex.
No you still dont get it. The air is does not get altered after the throttle body because of the throttle plate. Down a straight pipe it might have an effect, but the pipe is not straight. There is no power of the vortex, it does nothing.
2 adv of vrtx 1: the circ motion of air once hit the jet gives more vaporization compre to norml air flow. 2: the fact that it makes the air flow faster frm start of ir intake means its better than usual and the vortex is not lost it restarts again after the throtle bec there still some rotary motion from the main vortex.
It does not flow faster through the pipe because its blocking the pipe. Also it wont give better vaporisation because because 1) there is still a throttle plate in the way and 2) its fuel injection, the injectors do enough vaporisation as it is. You clearly know nothing about how an engine works.
just to prove you wrong. try to reaserch the function of the catalytic converter in your exhoust. they will not put it there if the fuel injection does vaporized fuel well. and the vortex valve does not block it just change dirction of air to a circ motn so the air will gain momentum.
the catalytic converter is not because fuel is not mixed right, is because laws of physics will never let you burn 100% of the fuel, that would be a perfect combustion chamber. Nothign is perfect. 14.7:1 fuel air is perfect, but maximum power ocurs arround 15.~:1 , this is what sars use when cold or when low rpms. Because of extra fuel, and misfires and all the other things that car have which are not perfect, the catalytic burn the extra fuel. Extra fuel because of imperfection, not atomization
You can search evrywhere, The catalytic converter is put there because there are unburnt fuel comming out. There are unburnt fuel because the system cannot perfectly vaporize all the fuel. only vaporized fuel are burnd.
Is the PAIR (pulsed secondary air injection system) in cars/motorcycles and the catalytic converters are the same?
Oh by the way, I've tried putting this vortex valve in my motorcycle between the air filter and the carb. I noticed better acceleration. My motorcycle already has a catalytic converter in it.
yes, there is fuel that is not vaporized. if you put the exact fuel needed, it would need perfect vaporization and 100% of the fuel molecules would need to mix 100% with air. That will never happen. the rate of evaporization reduces exponentially as the fuel vaporizes, there are spots with no fuel and spots with too much. ICE engine is not perfect combustion chamber. They send extra fuel to get the missing air, and the extra fuel that doesnt mix doesnt burn. Hence catalytic.
You are right, fuel injectors and all shinanigans dont vaporize 100%. but even with your tornado thign, you may IMPROVE vaporization, but it wont make it perfect. there will still be unburnt fuel, and you will still need a catalityc
I agree, Thats why I belive that increacing gas mileage is still possible. If there is a design that makes sure 100% vaporization then I have nothing more to say more about engine. we can move on to other things such as aero dynamics of car design, Solar assisit etc...
For some engines these things might work, but in reality:
1. You CAN'T install them after the throttle body which is part of the manifold..
2. Diverting anything - even airflow - means diverting and reducing energy. You're slowing down (and NOT compressing either) the intake air.
3. If somehow the air vortex DID make it past the throttle plate, then with carbies your fuel would be spun out of the airstream onto the plenum walls.. like many air filter boxes use to remove dust particles..!
First of all, the air will move slower not faster. Secondly the whole point in a vortex valve is to spread the amount of air out evenly to each cylinder so mounting this thing before the throttle body renders it 100% useless.
just to give you an idea of the POwer of vortex. After taking a poop on your toilet bowl, flash the bowl and try to disrupt the vortex. without the vortex your poop will stay...
As any one who has ever been or is a plumber,"not JOE the un-licened kind who if was would have known you can't pull permitts without one,,,there by NO $250.00.00 a year buis to worry about taxs on anyway" this vortex poop toliet sh*%T stuff is TRUE the man knows what he is saying! Does it work on the engine? I'm Game ! at $4.00 gal gas and a enviroment that needs cleaning up,,,DAMM RIGHT BABY!
I t should be mounted after the meter. the main purpose of the device is to make the air move faster going to the intake and form a vortex to help more fuel vaporization.
pretty cool brotha :) check my vorxin video :) and see what I have going on... Nice job on that rather then spending 60$ a pop or more... very nice :)

Be creative & use your imagination to create a nice product without buying it!!!
Good work man, it is easy to make, but please tell us about the fuel consumotion (before and after) or what exactly do you feel when you driving your car after installing it, and what about the car itself, what year and engine.
Better than paying 60 bucks for sure:-) I was reading that the vortex slows down the air intake and that it basically doesn't work; can you testify that you are getting better gas mileage using it?
I have experimnet for you. using a bottle with water in it. which one will empty the content inside faster; puring it with a little rotary shaking motion or pouring it without. observe your toilet bowl when you flash. what is the shape or an lectric fan blade? and airplane propeller? and dont forget the hurecane and tornado.
Does it have any noticable effect on the engine or its performance, especially but not limited to fuel savings and accerelation gain? Thanks for vid if possible could you up load how 2 for this noting cutting angle/bending rim to fit.
The first thing I noticed is the quicker accelaration and sound of the engine. I will make more videos as soon as I have tima. At the moment if you can give me your email, I can send you files on how to make fuel saving devices including air vortex valve.
Bro, pinoy ka ba? Gusto kong bumili sa ebay ng ganyan. Gusto ko lang malaman if it really works. Para sulit naman yung pagbili ko. I saw one from costa rica. looks good.
it can use in my motorcycle?

First off you rock !!
I just finished my vortex valve, it took me 2 hours from the time i took my truck apart contruction, installation and test run.
I was amazed with the results my truck,a 2003 Tacoma runs like I gave it a tune up.
And when it is idleing it's at a slower rpm.
Real quiet.
Thank you for your great contribution to the cause. God Bless You

I saw one from costa rica. looks good.
