Great song. This was written by Ray Griff as an assignment by George Hamilton IV, who had the first recording on it in the mid-60s, who released it as a single and had a hit on it. Then Hank Snow recorded it. Then Ray recorded it. I like all three versions, each have their special features. @Swingreach, you may have heard Hank sing it live on the Opry at the Ryman, but keep in mind that the Opry didn't move out of the Ryman until 1974.

THIS is THE original. I heard Hank Snow sing this on the "Grand Ole Opry" when it was still in the Ryman Auditorium on the 11:30 show.
