Duh... That is exactly what the video is about. that Obomba would betray us as Septimius did the Romans. At least you didn't get hung up on the ethnicity of Septmius though
And no, his race doesn't matter to me at all. I know I'm not a racist or sexist in that I would vote for a Black Lesbian Conservative over some egg sucking Liberal, even is said egg sucker was a white male.
Is Gibbons the history of the decline and fall of the roman Empire enough for the deniers of African contributions to civlization?
"The Pannonian army was at this time commanded by Septimius Severus, a native of Africa, who, in the gradual ascent of private honors, had concealed his daring ambition, which was never diverted from its steady course by the allurements of pleasure, the apprehension of danger,
or the feelings of humanity. 28 On the first news of the murder of Pertinax, he assembled his troops, painted in the most lively colors the crime, the insolence, and the weakness of the Praetorian guards, and animated the legions to arms and to revenge. He concluded (and the peroration was thought extremely eloquent) with promising every soldier about four hundred pounds; an honorable donative, double in value to the infamous bribe with which Julian had purchased the empire. 29
The acclamations of the army immediately saluted Severus with the names of Augustus, Pertinax, and Emperor; and he thus attained the lofty station to which he was invited, by conscious merit and a long train of dreams and omens, the fruitful offsprings either of his superstition or policy. 30
Its worth noting that not all native populations of africa are black.
North West Africa is home-land of the berbers who are a light brown complexioned people, not too different to mediterranean types like the spanish or italians.
Septimus Severus was definately of a dark complexion but he wasnt actually black. His father was of Berber or Phoenician origin (as he was from near Carthage) and his mother was italian.
It's also worth nothing that North Africa is home of the Moors, King Tut, Nefertiti and Timbuktu. That there are many Sudanese, Ethiopians and sub Sahara Africans that are of light complexions as well as many Berbers that are of a darker complexion.
So what is your point? I think it is a form of racism where one seeks to downplay any historical contribution of dark skinned Africans. The point is that they are Africans.
i'm not downplaying the contribution of black africa. I'm aware there were black pharoahs around 1000bc and at that time of history the most powerful man on earth would have been a black man. And i'm also aware there have been sophisticated civilisations in black africa in Mali, Nigeria, and Ethiopia. Also the greater Zimbabwe culture.
Its just that i don't think theres enough evidence to say Septimus Severus was a black man.
'We shall see that mankind began as a single family; that the family circle widened and widened until it broke into segments, and with that came the illusion that the segments were no longer part of the circle. '
@BVargas78 you're looking at things from a modern perspective. There is not much evidence that ancient man classified each other based on skin color. There is evidence however that more consideration was given to geographical origin. Also by the time of 1000 bc egypt had been around for at least 2000 years prior. Being that traditional scholarship estimate its founding at around 3000 bc.
@BVargas78 man..... you white people are fucking insane....now hes not actually black, he just happen to have black skin. whats up with you people and black skins individual. now your drop of black blood dont make him black because he ruled Rome. now the Berber r actually light skin of some kind like the Spaniard. you Europeans are kids of yesterday....ur kind r new to the earth. 2000yrs or so. get over yourself pal. and for your info, all native African are all black with diverse culture.
Word. I was just rappin with a brother about Dr. Ben's breakdown of this sellout. My brother drew the comparison and I logged in and immediately found the video post. "The Creator Has a Master Plan"

Silly video.
Why didn't you just go all out in your hero worship and declare him Jesus Christ?
He is a failure. He also serves to show how the average voter these days treats the choice for president as if it were just American Idol.

The comparison used by Heru, Septimius-Obama, is because they are both African\ European mixes; Afrikan fathers and European mothers.
The evidence is documented.

One might also take note that current genetics( Lucy) suggests that mankind migrated out of Sub Sahara Africa.
People of the Levant have always married across so called racial lines. One might also take note that Obama is also of mixed heritage.
These distinctions you seem to value were not important in Africa until the Europeans came.
