  • I can't stop watching this... :P

  • after watching this awesome performance i'm a 1000% sure that aaron is going to be awesome as enjolras.

  • So, we did a medely of N2N songs at my school, and i swear the whole time we were singing I'm Alive, i was thinking "Boys, be more like Aaron. Please? You sound like you're in pain!" WE LOVE YOU AARON!!

  • Who can still be able to sing like that after pole-dancing and running like hell up a flight of stairs?! Obviously Aaron can!

  • nine people seem to dislike singing, sexy, pole dancing aaron. and here's what i have to say to those people... ARE YOU CRAZY!?

  • @ThePisceanDragon hey. Crazy is perfect, and fucked up is perfect, right?? :)

  • I want his adopted babies...

  • the show that makes you want to commit suicide at intermission, and has you walking out with so many tears pouring that your skin erodes. Beautiful.

  • I'd clumb on his back anytime ; )

  • I like Aaron's performance because it shows the more yearning, innocent side of Gabe as opposed to Curt Hansen's performance, where he was playing the dark sadistic side.

Both were great, but Aaron seemed more real, where as you could tell Curt was trying to play on Gabe's inconsistency.

  • @zoetherebel I liked Kyle Dean Massey's performance better actually (Note: I saw Aaron 2x and Kyle 3x). He played it more as the manipulator neither innocent nor dark. He looked like he was making things go his way. During Hey #2 on the line "Don't give up on me" it looks like Kyle is directing Henry to leave the ticket with Natalie. The character is written inconsistently and goes with the flow of the illness which I think makes him a great character in general no matter who is playing him

  • I really enjoyed this. Aaron's just great !!!

  • ......I just fell in love.

  • work those poles, dahhlin

  • Best musical EVER!!!! This shit is exhilarating and wonderful

  • I hope this comes to the UK one day. I don't care where in the country it goes, either way I'd travel to see it! ^-^

  • I might get to see N2N when it goes to Melbourne this year with my Nana 8D hopefully she doesnt mind about the swearing o.o

  • Awwww n2n you'll be missed

  • Performance rights available to license through Music Theatre International...

  • @mtishows Thumbs up times over 9,000.

  • Holy crap, looks EXACTLY like young Anthony Andrews(Scarlet Pimpernel) its so freaky the resemblence!

  • those 7 dislikes came from guys who played Gabe that could never be as good as Aaron ;)

  • LOVE YOU! <3

he's doing frank jr in catch me if you can on bway. BEST MOVIE EVER! <3

  • this is purely beautiful....aaron tveit I LOVE YOU.

  • Who in their right mind could dislike this video??? Those seven people are insane.

    On another note...

Aaron Tveit, marry me, please? <3 <3 <3

  • ew. i had a MUCH better gabe in the show i saw 2 weeks ago !!

  • @qsrgyj7 doubt it...not a lot better than Aaron Tveit buddy, especially since he practically crafted the role.

  • He is such a creeper!

  • really stunning

  • Question who is the other girl and what is her connection to him, is she like his sister or girlfriend or something in the show? I'm a new fan of N2N so I don't that much about so I was just curious!

  • @khscheer01 That's his sister yes. In case you haven't done so, DON'T look up the plot on Wikipedia or something. I did that before seeing the show and I still loved it, but I wish I hadn't ruined some of the plot for myself. I would say listen to "Just Another Day", "Everything Else", "Perfect For You", "I Miss The Mountains", "You Don't Know" "I Am The One", "Superboy and the Invisible Girl", "I'm Alive" and "I've Been", that gives you a sense of the plot without completely unveiling it!

  • omg he is so freaking amazing.

  • I don't think he could be any hotter, not mention an amazing singer

  • He reminds me of Mathew Morrison from Glee!

  • secret poledancer

  • OMG he so needs to be on Glee, i'm just saying he could give Finn and Jesse a run for their money with Rachael, Come on Gleek Fans let's get him on Glee!

  • @khscheer01 in a video somewhere on here, you see him audition for finn's part. Later on in the video you see them holding up aaron's head shot and saying they didn't want anyone too "ambercrobi and fitch"

  • @egmorox13

    What's the URL

  • @phantom4087

    it's here

    watch?v=dH_Pp4bKvzw&feature=related

  • @khscheer01 he auditioned for finn

  • The lyrics to this song are so freaking creepy. But I suppose it IS some dude that's supposed to be dead.

  • we're singing this in our village theater camp...which is ironically the same theater that this musical came from! :D

  • I love how aaron basically pole dances this entire musical.

    totally not sarcasm.

  • @arienettechemistry just one of the many reasons that i love this musical =P

  • I always wanted to be the hottest lead guitarist in a band. But........

  • Five people missed the like button. Must be blind I suppose. I love how he is dancing around between the two eyes representing Diana's mind. That makes me happy how he is something of a virus. It's great. Oh, and he is of course sexy as hell. That's obvious enough. Great song, choreography, lighting, set, and story. It's just great, this small piece.

  • @patchchat you are seriously jealous that he can sing that falsetto and you cant. got it? lets see you perform gabe.

  • His voice sings me to sleep!

  • :27 - :30 and :42 = BOSS. just saying. i love you aaron. just saying.

  • how did gabe die?

  • @wickedObsessed22 he died from an intestinal infection. i read that on wikipedia

  • @Tazal thanks :)

  • i want aaron tveit's children.

  • how i wish i was the pole ;)

  • Male pole dancing. Wow.

  • this just proves that there's nothing more sexy than a guy who can sing.

  • @lovefooledthegirl01 iagree - everytime they air those talentshows (and i use the word talent loosely) like, idols xfactor and so on i flee to the musicals...and the real talents...

  • @lovefooledthegirl01 Swing? ;)

  • i wanna see this so bad!! but i hate that the scenery is all the same... just blue walls... not like wicked, with all the cool backgrounds... but i can only see it if they come to the panteges theatre in hollywood.. or else im screwed...

  • @xXxmendingheartxXx Wicked is awesome! -And you really don't need all the fancy decors and backgrounds to put on an epic show as N2N! xD

  • Actually he prolly is gay, and that makes me gay..or happy

  • omfg arron tveit is so gorgeous

  • I think that one of the primary reasons that this musical is so successful is due to it being so believable. I look at Gabe and I see myself within the family (high engery, loud, etc), then I see Natalie and I think of my sister (a loser), and the mom and dad who love eachother but a broken in serval way. Interesting.

  • What a great musical! In my opinion it's the best on Broadway these days. Just try to avoid front row or you may end up with neck pain, as I did.

  • Indeed! Best show I've ever seen and I love that it's so completely original- like, I can't think of another recent musical that's not based off of a play, book, or (gag) a movie.

  • Aaron is actually not gay

  • @shopaholic5693 YAAAAY! lol...

  • BRILLIANT!!!

  • All I could think when I saw this was, "My good god." Gabe just... well... yummm...

  • AHHH i love Gabe. Probably gay as the day is long, BUT SOOOO CUTE.

  • This is a great great show! and the Booth is a great place to see this show - very intimate theater.

  • Just as much as he's talking about being her son I think he's talking about her disease, her mania. It's feel so alive, and yet it is destruction and decay. It is a stranger yet it knows you all too well. This is a great musical for anyone who has bipolar disorder.

  • @MRNucci76

No! He's just a figment of her imagination.

You see, she developed bipolar disorder after her son died at 18 months. She imagines that the son is still alive so her therapist is trying to convince her it's time to let go but her hallucination is trying to convince her otherwise.

That's why he's singing about being "alive".

  • MRNucci76 I disagree. I think the song represents the repetition that she hears in her head when she tries to let him go. She wants to, but he won't let her and keeps repeating it over and over again.

But it's ok to have different viewpoints. As they say, 'One man's trash..."

  • @suicidalmickeymouse it gives him excerise!

  • I lol'ed at your comment, SuicidalMickeyMouse3

  • shoot. i've been trying to keep myself at least somewhat in the dark for at least one show before actually seeing it! :(

  • If musicals were supposed to only sound pretty then that'd be valid but acting and intention is what'll come first. He's not gonna sound like he does on the recording. Ever!

  • @balletsouth No no! that's not what I ment! I just ment he's out of breath!! I know he woun't sound like the recording, they probably speng ages polishing thoes. I just ment that sometimes I can't understand what he's saying. No thumbs down!!

  • @Jman383 Jenn Damiano is a FABULOUS actress. How could anyone say otherwise? She has really developed Natalie, and plays her very well.

  • @Jman383 I disagree. She made distinct choices with the role, which come across whenever she performs. Maybe you don't like the choices she's made, but she does portray them very well.

  • It both takes away and adds to the performance, sure his voice isn't as "pretty", but it makes Gabe seem so much crazier and show offy, which I like a lot more than boring pretty voiced gabe.

  • howd he die in the show?

  • @lilmisblonde258, it was an intestinal obstruction, and he died before Natalie (Diana's daughter) was born.

  • saw it last night. He died as a baby of an intestinal blockage.

  • AAAAHHH STOP IT WITH THE SPOILERS!!!!!!! I've already seen the show so you didn't ruin it for me, but you people can't just keep spoiling it like that without ever writing a warning before hand! The advertising team @ N2N work very hard to keep the plot of the show secret until ppl see it, it's not fair to them!

  • ummm....sorry? if you dont want people to ruin dont bother asking. It'll help alot. :)

  • @bway1497 Excuse me? When did I ask about the plot? If people do ask, message them...just a thought. Then again, this was 8 months ago, but still, I wasn't asking anything, but I did have the misfortune of seeing a comment on a vid like this and knowing more of the plot than I wanted.

  • @Wickedisnumba1 I'm sorry for the inconveience!! I thought you did ask that, i thought that when you replyed back you were the person who asked in the first place. Turns out that was lilmisblonde258. I'm really sorry about that! I didnt mean to spoil anything!

  • @bway1497 Aw that's okay hun, just couldn't understand what you meant. I know it's hard to keep the plot to yourself, whenever I'm talking about it with people who haven't seen the show I always have to bite my tongue ;)

  • aaron and i are getting married, he just doesn't know it yet ;)

  • @rzezzie06 They never do know it, do they?

  • Im Gutted. Today is aaron's last Day in Next to Normal :( Im So Sad He's Amazng. I would have loved to seen him in this. But i live in England -_- Hope Next to Normal Comes to the uk!

  • Is there s movie out of N2N, or was this just a promo?

  • @amazinggarrett1

    just a promo

  • I just saw Next to Normal today. It was AMAZING. I saw it with the understudy Jessica Phillips, and she was AMAZING, better I think than Alice Ripley.

Aaron, needless to say, was AMAZING. plus I loved the therapist, hilarious!

  • I was at the same show. I've seen it with Alice, too, and I prefer the way Alice does it. Jessica was good, but she was more theatrical about it. Alice is more real and really grabs your heart.

  • Thanks so cool!

Sometimes I think understudies/standbys are better than the real cast. They just go out there with such power and feeling becuase its just, "Yes! I get to do it tonight!".

  • Whoops! MEant to say "That's so cool!" So sorry about that!

  • MARRY ME AARON TVEIT!!!!!!!!

  • Seeing it in a week from today!!!! Can't wait =D

  • Seeing as that comment was two weeks ago, what'd you think? I've seen it twice and am planning a good long trip to the city so I can see it like seven more times!

  • he works those poles better then mim in rent (hehe)

  • He works those poles better than anyone. Though frankly, he's hotter just standing still than almost anyone else on a pole, so there you are.

  • mmmm i know =)

  • @egmorox13 why yes ,yes he does

  • Comment removed

  • this show is incredible, but live:)!!

  • Aaron moves so beautifully, and he has a gorgeous voice.

  • Aaron=LOVE! Saw him in Wicked and was blown away and I'm dying to see this!

  • his dynamics and timing is unbelievable

  • Guess what, I'm going to see this finally on the 18th! I'm so excited to finally see Aaron live with this song!

  • He came back you idiot

  • Aaron is amazing

  • What a creeper!

    ...In a good way.

    He's a very...talented creeper.

    GO AARON!!

  • Oh goodness! I have no idea how he can swing after he flies around everywhere like that, he's got to be out of breath. Not to mention he's got to be running backstage to get to his next spot in time. Like wow man. haha

  • He's amazing. The entire reason I'd go all the way to New York, pay outrageous Broadway ticket prices, and sit through a show I know next to nothing (hmm...ironic) about. I'd do it for Aaron. And possibly Alice. Okay, yeah, Alice too.

    =0)

  • We got row K in the orchestra for only 60 dollars at TKTS at Duffy Square! Try it!

  • me 2!

  • Aaron is a force of nature in this song. I have no idea how he can run/jump/swing like that and still sing as amazingly as he does. He's every bit as good as this in a real show too.

  • months?

  • Aaron.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways......(:

  • Every time I watch this I wonder if he took special classes or if he's just naturally good at dancing on the poles...

  • so, how long u think the show will last

  • Last month. Eight months.

  • OMG I KNOW. He's like...gah! Makes you want to melt. xD

  • They changed it to eight months.

They also changed "he's been dead sixteen years" to "all these years" in "He's Not Here."

  • He is sooooo good!!!!! I want to see this show more than anything!!!!! I love how it's such a like down to earth story. I've been like totally obsessing over it and my sister is really annoyed. :)

  • hah me too, exactly. i want to see it so bad and my sisters like ahgg.

  • This is so much better than Wicked. Just saying.

  • It was 18 months.

  • It's 8 months. Cast recording says 18 mos, but I saw it 3 times last weekend, they said 8 months. See my previous post.

  • I saw the show again a few times last weekend, and it's eight months. In "He's Not Here," the lyrics are now "he's been dead all these years." It used to be "he's been dead 16 years."

  • SOOOOOOOOOO HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT *diiiiiiiiiiie*

  • 0:47 the head shake is sooo adorable!!! so is the ENTIRE thing!

  • Comment removed

  • he's dead. diana is just seeing him in a teenage form, he's like a depiction of her depression

  • Does anyone get a sorta evil vibe from this? It just seems like he's telling them that he's there and there's nothing they can do about it. But evil is sexy, so I love this!

  • yeah i do but your right ecil is very sexy so he is very sexy lol

  • he is sorta evil...he convinces her to do all this crazy stuff...like stop taking her meds

...he's amazing...and Alice Ripley is SOOOO GOOD

    love the whole cast

  • and cutting herself so she could leave with him

  • Yeah I got to meet him...it was great.

  • ok im confused. So does Gabe die or something?

  • Gabe died right after Natalie was born, but Diana pretends that he's alive.

  • Diana isn't pretending he's alive, she's seeing him.

  • Comment removed

  • didn't Gabe die BEFORE she was born?

    thats why they had her?

  • yes, but he represents Diana's depression, his death is essentially what triggered her issues... and because she (the mom) sees him, Natalie feels uncared for by her mom and to some extent her dad...

  • i thiought he died when he was 18 months? that what it sounds like in how could i ever forget?.

  • she is suffering from depression and hallucinating, the doctor is treating her hallucinations like they are real so Diana doesn't freak out.

  • my goodness....i;ve never seen this preformed and only listened to it via the recording....it is so well done and powerful, and aaron is running around singing at the top of his lungs....amazing

  • i just recently saw this like last week. it was amazing truly. but the guy in this video didnt play gabe when i saw it. the guy i saw was even hotter if thats possible haha.

  • Haha Kyle Dean Massey. Better looking by a smidge, but not as good a voice for the part. Still amazing, however, don't get me wrong!

  • he's SOOOOOOO hot!!!!!!!!! *ahhhhhhhhhh*

  • omg i know!

  • i loved this musical! i just saw it this weekend. sadly, as everyone knows, aaron wasn't there but kyle dean was still amazing. for anyone who has seen it, who's fave part was where diana first met dr. madden and he kept singing rock? i loved that part and couldn't stop laughing. for those who haven't seen it, might not get what i am saying but it was my fave part.

  • yea aaron went to catch me if you can in seattle. I only know that cause my best friends uncle wrote the lyrics for it and i got to go with her.

  • I must agree, that was so funny, especially Diana's reaction to it! I saw this show over two weeks ago and I still can't get it out of my head. I really hope this show runs for a while, it's truly original.

  • why does this sound so much like out tonight from rent

  • I don't see the similarities with the actual song, but more with the choreography. With the half pole-dancing.

  • yeah i'd aggree, i was about to say that. plus, in minor part, the lighting also.

  • does it? i tried to listen for resemblence but i couldn't hear it, oh well

  • Will the show's directed by Michael Greif so that could be why =D

  • I love the bit where he sings, "I have to go, Out tonight"...

....oh woops, I meant "I'm alive"
