you're right. this build is often found in iccup games. lower and higher ranks do it all the time. I didn't know mass lings is the solution. certainly there was no margin for either muta or lurker build, so u'd have to work with hydras and lings to get out of it somehow... anyways, amazing pressure with goons from Movie, gg

What bothers me is, all that time that JD hatchery was getting ripped, why didn't he get lurker aspect? One lurker would have spooked those goons away, as you saw that Movie went templar tech and no Robotics. Not saying JD would of won, but he had his chances to make it a game.

Oh, and why didn't he pump out lings instead of hydras when he tried to defend from the start? Slow lings suck, but they're way better than rangeless Hydras vs goons. Goons' attack only does 50% vs lings. Bah! This is why they play the games, right?

Slow lings wouldn't even deal damage to goons; Movie woulda done the same shoot - pull - shoot pull against a pure ling army and just ended it.

He actually microed surprisingly bad against the lings later on; he could've won that fight with just his goons alone in spite of speedlings, but I guess he was busy macroing.

Well... I do root for zerg 99% of the time unapologetically. That win was earned by Movie. Reminds us of the potential frailty of 5-hatch hydra vs protoss.

This particular game was not cheesy at all. It's not like Movie proxy-gated or cannon rushed... he straight up macroed his way to victory. Since when was making more units than your opponent a cheesy way to win a game of StarCraft?

JD lost simply because he didn't scout. Movie's building placement was intelligent, and JD got lazy and didn't send in his ovies until too late.

I think that JD played very strange (why hydras and not lings vs. goons?), he was not ready, he did not scout good enough. I mean, he is really top player, but this wasnt his best performance.

the lings were not upgraded in speed, thats why he chose to use hydras instead

the gate placement was very hard for ling or ovie to scout it. If jaedong played a sunk, movie would have just sent his army to JD's 3rd. It was pretty much an all-in move by movie, if his attack failed, JD would have had easy time to raze his nat or harrass with mutas (since templar tech archon was not ready)

It was an all-in by Movie, because he really wanted to pass this MSL but knew he cant beat JD straight up

Jaedong always seems to lose to to this mediocre player in the same way. Jaedong is 2-3 against this guy, and if you go back and watch his previous games, Movie always wins by doing early aggression. Jaedong never gets defenses against this guy and it has cost him 3 games so far.
