@LiamBMSli Look at the video links of his appearance on the today show. He admits to breaking assembly rules, so the police had to do their jobs. Obviously they let this guy say his piece. Hi dragon ~ I think this needs to be viewed with two phases in mind ~ (1) his discussion with Sen Kerry, and (2) his reaction to being kicked out.
Nobody cares what he asked Kerry ~ it's his right to ask whatever he wants (free speech). But he became abusive on the mic and to people around him, and was asked to leave the first time. He returned, caused a bigger disturbance, and the cops honored the request of the organizers to remove him. He resisted, got tased, then complied. He admits guilt.
@Dinewiz (CONTD): force them into cuffs. Today's police are trained to use escalating force to make arrests. Voice, soft-hand techniques, hard-hand techniques, then tools. @FLSHBK1 bro.. lemme level with you for a sec. YOU CAN'T RESIST ARREST IF THERE ISN'T SOMETHING MERIT AN ARREST IN THE FIRST PLACE. yes thats all fine and dandy but he asked a simple question that did not threaten the senator at all. its simple expression of free speech.
@dragon55001 He was simply being kicked out for numerous behavioral issues. he was already told to leave & had fought with cops BEFORE this. They were nice enough to give him a second chance but he got angry when told time was up & refused to let Kerry reply. When he cussed, they cut the mic & resumed his removal. He absolutely does not have the right to fight with cops who are obligated to remove him. He wasn't being arrested at 1st, only removed & not for questions. Kerry answered at length
@DoorGunnerNam67 Does it occur to you as well that there is no justice in either action, that it is outrageous for police to interfere in any way when one is asking a question of a public office holder when the person asking the question, as they did so soon after he began, was INVITED to do so and presented no threat, "attitude" notwithstanding??
@harryhonkmann NO, the people in charge cut the mic and told him to go. the cops had a legal obligation to remove him. They gave him plenty of time to speak even though he had alrady been kicked out. Fuck him, he got special privilage and tried to pretend that he was oppressed. i can't respect that one bit. & how can the argument be that he wasn't allowed to speak when he spoke for a full mijute after being told time was up & ALL of that was after being kicked out (wasn't even his turn in line)
@harryhonkmann Seeing as how the video starts at some point in this guys line of questions or comments, who knows what he said or did prior to this. Obviously it was something worth turning a camera on for.. Right? I bet every question asked that day didn't warrant cell phone video coverage.
@ThePhantomX24 No, THIS is not why you dislike police. You dislike the idea that anyone has the authority to control you if/when you break the law. This is just a scary reminder that your parents' authority has been passed on to armed people you don't know, and you no longer have the ability to talk your way out of it when you're caught.
It's hard to make a decision when we DON'T see what happened. The police are following routine procedure here, even asking him to stop resisting. If he didn't resist at the beginning, I bet he would have been quietly let out and more than likely told what he did wrong. HE made the matters worse.
1. senator Kerry (in the background) asking for calm because he wants to answer the question. This begs the question: who gave these cops their mandate to act like they did on these keywords?
2. guy shouting for help and no-one helps him? what would've happened if half the people in that room would've rushed in and made a wall between him and the cops? Not to make a racket but because even the sen. Kelly obviously didn't want this to get so out of hand..
@HomoCognitus They didn't act on any keywords, this video is just edited to make it look that way. they'd already struggled with him to leave (for grabbing a mic out of turn while another student was talking, cussing students in charge, refusing to leave, yelling accusations, etc), then agreed to let him ask but told him time was up a minute before this. When he said "blowjob" the order to cut the mic was made & they resumed his removal. Notice the crowd cheers his removal & laughs at him.
@IkazWayde Kerry DID have a cover story & he answered at length. It's in the transcript. YES, he's a member of S&B. It's public record & is the subject of a popular History Channel doc (among other sources in TV, film & print). It is ludcrous to think he was in trouble for that after all he had done.
Why would they allow him to ask? Kerry requested it. It's called a 2nd chance & he blew it. Also, cops were on him long before he said "S&B". the video is edited to make it look that way.
@tmoffat4563 I sort of agree. You wouldn't find college students acting that unreasonably even 50 yrs ago. Makes you feel sorry for the cops who have to control them.
I love how all the foreign retards posting on here act like police brutality ONLY happens in America & noplace else. They don't realize that certain parts of Africa, the twerp in this vid, Taser-boy, would have been shot as soon as he opened his mouth, with a REAL gun, not a Taser. Of course, you foreigners ONLY talk shit about the U.S. from behind the safety of your keyboards in Europe or wherever you're posting from, but never have the nutsack to say it to an American's face in real life.
@andymeyerswallowspoo Hey american "cliché" boy, I'm one of the foreign retards you were talking about. First, saying that in non-democratic African countries you can't express yourself does not really prove that taser is not an issue in the US... Second, in France, all the officers equipped with a taser have to be tasered so they know the pain they are inflicting. Tase a guy who is under control and you'll lose your badge. They don't use them because they are taught how to intervene properly.
@stateofmindize First, he wasn't arrested OR tased for 'expressing himself', you goddamn retard. He was removed for being a nuisance (for something that happened BEFORE the vid starte, had you bothered to do any research), was arrested for fighting and struggling with the cops who were simply removing him for his earlier behavior, and was then tased when resisting arrest. Second, cops have to be tasered themselves before getting a license to use one in the U.S. too, ya moron.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
@stateofmindize Third, the guy was NOT under control when tased. He was still struggling EVEN ON THE GROUND. Therefore, the use of the taser was 100% legal in this case. Thus endeth the lesson. Now stay the fuck in France and don't come to the U.S. for your own safety. Come to the U.S. and talk that way and people will curb stomp your ass.
@andymeyereatsshit Yes he resisted the arrest, and yes the use of taser can be justified, but if the guy is on the ground and five people are on him, then these five people should be able to cuff him and make him quiet without tasering him. Second, I'm already in the US and have met some polite and open-minded people here with whom I can discuss even if we disagree without being insulted or threatened. Freedom of speech is a right that we're lucky to have, and American people can be proud of it.
@andymeyereatsshit Third I did some research on the case, at the time it happened. Kerry said he could have handled it. Fourth, I'm not defending that guy who was being a nuisance, I'm saying that a taser is a dangerous thing that is sometimes used in situations that could be handled differently. Fifth, saying taser is an issue is not criticizing the USA, I love this country and you should not feel aggressed if I'm saying there's a specific issue here... No one is perfect. Peace.
@andymeyerswallowspoo turns out this dude most likely did as a publicity story. Sure there is more to the story this video shows but what you CAN see in this video is about six cops sitting on one guy and failing to restrain him without the use of a tazer gun. How bad is their training and how fucking lazy are they that they can't put cuffs on a student without excessive force? And saying 'well at least he didn't get shot' doesn't make it right. America, home of the free!
@Dinewiz Dude, they have ALWAYS used force to get cuffs on. before the taser they would have kicked him in the ribs or dislocated his shoulder. Injuries have always been common when cuffing someone who is fighting. Telling him what will happen for 60 seconds before drive stunning (not tasing) his shoulder for 3-4 seconds to cuff him is not "excessive" in the least.
Only in America... They didn't need to taser him. They could have easily over-powered him. Except cops like to have that feeling of power... fucking idiots. Keep it up America. I'm sure you'l do fine.
@MamaCOCKSforMoney Aka/ @RedrumRobSucksCOCK get a life @Fat@Boy you've made WELL over 3 @THOUSAND comments on this matter that the ((ACTUAL)) Principals invollved INCLUDING the Cops have gotten past it and gotten on with THEIR lives. They lived it YOU Didn't Little @Fantasy Boy!
@LordEizen They actually had a legal obligation to remove him, not just a "right". He was kicked out by the students running the event for shoving & cussing them, shoving security, grabbing a mic out of turn while another student had the floor, berating Kerry from the floor, refusing to leave when it wasn't his turn, screaming that they were trying to arrest him when they only wanted him to leave, etc. & that all happened BEFORE they tried to be nice & let him ask a question before being removed
@mamacornettesmoney oh... well if we dont see that on this video then everybody gets the wrong idea i guess... but, still he was trying to make a point right i mean was he right about was he was saying? but he just lost it a little xD
@LordEizen He was right but evidence suggests he went there to put on a show. He had a rep on campus. He used to work for the paper but was fired& had a web site with him doing things like harrasing people & giving away the ending of a book to people in line to buy it. There was a police report from the week before where he disrupted a Guliani rally by kicking signs& berating people & bragged that he'd do much more at the Kerry event. U should read what witnesses at Kerry event said about him
@mamacornettesmoney oh.. he's no saint then... i hope people read everything u told me before commenting on the video :) still in the end things like this shouldnt happen :/ cya :)
@jammadamma Nah, they were just trying to make him leave for numerous behavioral issues, but he wanted to pretend he was being arrested and struggle with the cops so he got what he asked for.
Andrew did NOT cause ANY disturbance, all he did was ask a simple and honest question which the government do not like to be asked since they are full of shit. America is apparently supposed to stand for free speech. Well ladies and gentlemen, this is what you get if you speak up and start to ask questions. Absolutely disgusting, brainwashed citizens.
That's really sick.Children and teenager are treated in the U.S. like prisoners. This is an extremely black and white thinking (also tickets for smallest mistakes in schools) like a borderliner and for the mental development of children very counterproductive. Obviously the common sense does no longer exist.
kicking out is one thing - but tasering because 5 cops are to silly to their job is something completely different - and it is also poor that the other students weren't able to kick that guy out if he was really so disturbing...
getting arrested for asking questions? How mad can this be? Nothing better than all the other failed states of the so called axis of evil (not that I would trust such an ignorant phrase) ...
@khochkogler He wasn't arrested for any questions. He's just pretending like that is the case. He was kicked out for shoving, cussing, interrupting other students, berating the guest, refusing to give the mic up, getting into it with the people in charge of the event, etc. The arrest came after several attempts to make him leave.
whatever happened to this guy or the police officers? (looking for a response here, even though probably none of you care, you're just trying to get the top comment)
@zOOmSalad Andrew Meyer was arrested and spent a night in jail. His school did not suspend him. The officers were placed on Administrative Leave (with pay) until the investigation was complete. Their actions were justified and they were returned to full duty. Andrew Meyer later apologized for creating the disturbance, admitting he was wrong.
how could you fucking just sit there and watch this? Not in my town... You know why they shut him up right? asking the "wrong" questions. Wake up people. Ron Paul 2012
you americans you think you are so superior to all other nations with your strict laws! well this is not a real democratie or a free country if you're not even allowed to say what you think! you think you are the most intelligent country in the world don't you! but you aren't. 50% of you don't even know, where or what europe is! so shut up. some americans asked me if we had internet in europe or even if we had electricity?! only few of your population possess a bit of intelligence! look at you!
@StephanyBeagle Giving a critic voice. And in America, the land of freedom - the land fighting worldwide for freedom is this simply not allowed. Confused? Then u are not an american and there for u have no rights to speak here.
Take care, maybe u got catched, deported to Cuba and then tortured - just for the safety of the american freedom!
@Hyberchonda That is not true at all. The guy was given plenty of opportunity to speak and it wasn't even his turn. They even let him explain his self on national TV. The problem is you are letting others tell you what happened. Look into it if you are really interested because if you think this guy was in any trouble whatsoever for expressing his opinion you are sorely mistaken. Why do you think the crowd cheers when they remove him? He was disturbing the event, NOT simply asking questions.
@MamaCOCKSforMoney STILL here after @4 fucken years? You have put a NEW angle on the term "Get a @LIFE " And quit Swallowing Cop @SEMEN you fucken Fat Bottomed @COWARD !
@Madhatter82900: Well, it makes ME trust them. They removed an out-of-control line-jumper who refused to comply with the rules of a US Senator's meeting. Cops were calm & disciplined, & didn't charge in there busting heads. Meyer later admitted he was wrong. He was charged and jailed. Screw him. His rights STOP where other peoples' rights begin. Cops were exonerated & their actions (including taser) were ruled justified by better legal brains than yours. He caused a disturbance, cops stopped it.
@FLSHBK1 You cops are all the same doesn't matter what another officer does you will bs yourselfes into thinking that they must have been in the right. We all know that most cops abuse thier power, not all but most.
@TheSexyDoctor ("You cops"??? Whaaa?) Look, the officers in this case were suspended pending investigation. That's for the public's protection. The case and their actions were reviewed. The cops were found justified and returned to duty. This idiot Meyer admitted he was WRONG and apologized. Unless you know what a cop's authority is, you'll never know if (s)he's abusing it. Stay in school, go to college, study law and you'll look at life differently. Or become a cop and try to do their job.
@TheSexyDoctor Closely watch the videos & read the witness reports. Meyer was completely in the wrong. he went there to cause a big ruckus, interrupted other students, jumped in line, cussed students running the event, shoved cops who tried to get him to leave & they STILL allowed him 3 times the time limit at the mic before removing him. Kerry spent a good deal of time answering his questions as well. This is simply a student being kicked out for various reasons & fighting instead of leaving
@mamacornettesmoney after I saw the longer you seem to be right. and what you can also see in this shorter version is that the people in the video are applauding as the police is interrupting and removing him. seems to me that the arrested guy is having some issues in general...
"Meyer made arrangements to have himself filmed. The incident may have been a stunt. Being escorted down stairs with no cameras in sight, he remained quiet. Once the cameras were present he started screaming and yelling again." Meyer was "laughing and lighthearted in the car off-camera saying "I'm not mad at you guys, you didn't do anything wrong, you were just trying to do your job."
Florida declared cops' actions justified and the cops on paid administrative leave have been fully reinstated.
"Meyer was arrested for inciting a riot and charged with resisting arrest with violence, and interfering with school administrative functions. Meyer spent one night in Jail and was released. Meyer later issued a public apology for his "failure to act calmly", stating that he "stepped out of line".
This idiot A-hole was either stoned or he planned this 'demonstration' (or both?). He was simply there to disrupt the meeting and get his 15 minutes of fame and sympathy from an audience (us) who are supposed to believe he was "tased to suppress his 1st Amendment rights". He refused police orders and resisted arrest. He was warned to comply or be tased. He made the choice, the officers simply obliged. If he's reached college age & really doesn't know "what he did", he's beyond hope of maturity.
I dunno I think they handled it fine =/ They would have just escorted him out if he would have cooperated and not allowed back in. But he clearly resists cooperating with the cops. Taze him... makes sense to me. I mean, he had plenty of time to cooperate. But nope...
I must say that I disagree to the initial arrest. When he resisted arrest, when he had a case to argue, he messed up. I also don't agree with the "tazing". This entire situation was handled poorly from both sides.
It's like communist russia the way the went after this guy like he was bad mouthing putin at a political rally. I think they could of asked him to leave/shut of his mic and then if he refused , threaten to arrest him if he did not cooperate. That would seem more logical in my opinion.
@ipv4 "I think they could of asked him to leave/shut of his mic and then if he refused , threaten to arrest him if he did not cooperate"
But that is exactly what happened. He was only being made to leave at first, and this is the 2nd time that day where he was told to leave, but fought & pretended to be arrested instead. They eventually did arrest him, but were merely making him leave at first. They even allowed him 3 times what others got at the mic despite already being told to leave.
@RazzTazzFilms How in the world was he causing a public disturbance? Kerry even said "I'm sorry let me answer his question" when the brain dead cops stepped in for no reason. You need a reality check.
@killzone158 Yeah? And you would have been subdued, arrested and jailed, just like this idiot was. Before you begin thinking this is a "nazi suppression of citizens' rights to free speech", remember every RIGHT has RESPONSIBILITIES. You can't yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater (unless there is one). Meyer cut the line, aggressively yelled rapid-fire questions at Kerry, using vulgarity, and refused to let the Senator answer. Told to leave he returned, becoming more disruptive. Meyer was WRONG.
@KingThracian He was allowed three times as long to ask questions as others despite the fact that it wasn't even his turn and he had already scuffled with cops who tried to remove him for interrupting students and cussing event officials, etc. He was simply being escorted out (for the 2nd time), he fought so he was eventually arrested.
@KingThracian Certainly we can. But we can't create disturbances while doing so. Meyer jumped the line, seized the mic, used vulgarities toward the Senator, talked-over Kerry when he tried to answer, refused to leave (twice), returned once, then ranted & raved when they shut his mic off. When police told him to leave he refused. When they physically escorted him out, he resisted them. Shame on UofF for not expelling this idiot. Even his friends agree he was bonkers.
@FLSHBK1 When stuff like this surfaces, I have to remember about 99% of the time there is more to the story. I wasn't there so I can't say what happened before or after the video cut off. Although the question itself causes no harm.
@KingThracian No one ever claimed that the question caused any harm. Meyer & people who put the vids on Youtube were only pretending that was the case. Meyer was actually in trouble for grabbing a mic out of turn, interrupting the student who had the floor, cussing the people runnig the event, shoving the cops who tried to get him to step down. He spoke for 3 times the time limit AFTER all that. He yelled at them when told time was up, then continued to fight his removal after the mic was cut.
And btw, him so called 'admitting' what he done, was after they arrested him, if they wanted to they could have made him say he was jesus and make you guys believe it.

HE made the matters worse.

two most shocking thins of this video?
1. senator Kerry (in the background) asking for calm because he wants to answer the question.

I love how all the foreign retards posting on here act like police brutality ONLY happens in America & noplace else. They don't realize that certain parts of Africa, the twerp in this vid, Taser-boy, would have been shot as soon as he opened his mouth, with a REAL gun, not a Taser. Of course, you foreigners ONLY talk shit about the U.S. from behind the safety of your keyboards in Europe or wherever you're posting from, but never have the nutsack to say it to an American's face in real life.
andymeyerswallowspoo 2 days ago
@andymeyerswallowspoo Hey american "cliché" boy, I'm one of the foreign retards you were talking about. First, saying that in non-democratic African countries you can't express yourself does not really prove that taser is not an issue in the US... Second, in France, all the officers equipped with a taser have to be tasered so they know the pain they are inflicting. Tase a guy who is under control and you'll lose your badge. They don't use them because they are taught how to intervene properly.
stateofmindize 2 days ago
@stateofmindize First, he wasn't arrested OR tased for 'expressing himself', you goddamn retard. He was removed for being a nuisance (for something that happened BEFORE the vid starte, had you bothered to do any research), was arrested for fighting and struggling with the cops who were simply removing him for his earlier behavior, and was then tased when resisting arrest. Second, cops have to be tasered themselves before getting a license to use one in the U.S. too, ya moron.
andymeyereatsshit 2 days ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
@stateofmindize Third, the guy was NOT under control when tased. He was still struggling EVEN ON THE GROUND. Therefore, the use of the taser was 100% legal in this case. Thus endeth the lesson. Now stay the fuck in France and don't come to the U.S. for your own safety. Come to the U.S. and talk that way and people will curb stomp your ass.
andymeyereatsshit 2 days ago
@andymeyereatsshit Yes he resisted the arrest, and yes the use of taser can be justified, but if the guy is on the ground and five people are on him, then these five people should be able to cuff him and make him quiet without tasering him. Second, I'm already in the US and have met some polite and open-minded people here with whom I can discuss even if we disagree without being insulted or threatened. Freedom of speech is a right that we're lucky to have, and American people can be proud of it.
stateofmindize 2 days ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@andymeyereatsshit Third I did some research on the case, at the time it happened. Peace.
stateofmindize 2 days ago
@andymeyerswallowspoo turns out this dude most likely did as a publicity story. Sure there is more to the story this video shows but what you CAN see in this video is about six cops sitting on one guy and failing to restrain him without the use of a tazer gun. How bad is their training and how fucking lazy are they that they can't put cuffs on a student without excessive force? And saying 'well at least he didn't get shot' doesn't make it right. America, home of the free!
Dinewiz 2 days ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@Dinewiz Dude, they have ALWAYS used force to get cuffs on. before the taser they would have kicked him in the ribs or dislocated his shoulder. Injuries have always been common when cuffing someone who is fighting. Telling him what will happen for 60 seconds before drive stunning (not tasing) his shoulder for 3-4 seconds to cuff him is not "excessive" in the least.
