I wish people wouldnt argue back and forth on gospel videos on utube. Thats what makes me sick. The world is whatching you guys do this and thinking I dont need that! Thats a shame. So many good anointed vids on here that God can use is hindered in the comments. Gods people should not be at each other so much. If you are blood washed then you are a bro.
Does anyone know where i can get just the sound track of this song, i am wanting to sing it at my church and i need the soundtrack, i am willing to buy it so it does not have to be a free site, please and thank you
I agree with all those who know the POWER, GIFTS and FIRE of the HOLY GHOST. Praise Him in the dance, shout unto God with the voice of Triumph. Praise God louder and with more life than you do for a home run, touchdown or slam dunk. Give God PRAISE. David's wife Michal despised David for his worship to God. David and the people shouted, leaped and danced before the Ark of God. Read II Samuel 6 and get soem passion and fire in your life. Stop listening to the dried up, lukewarm hypocrites.
This song is awesome, so anointed. I'm gonna dance wilder than before in gonna praise his name louder than before I'm gonna jump higher than before in gonna spin I'm gonna run faster than before, freedom I'm talking about freedom. Woo, this sing is AWESOME. When I think of his goodness and what he's done for me when I think of his goodness and how he set me free I'm gonna dance dance all night, I'm gonna shout, I'm gonna run, I'm gonna leap, I'm gonna praise, I'm gonna spin, I'm gonna shout sho
I know people that say it's not about the beat, but it's about the lyrics, some of them are in my family, so I know how that is. Now, in the video maybe they could've got more into worship, but who am I to judge, it's a great song though.
Not in any way being compromisable, I can't stand compromise. Just saying view all the points. Great vid in YouTube, A Call To Anguish, by David Wilkerson, if you get a chance please listen to it.
Here's a thought, if the Christians of the 1800's were all still alive, if it was about generational music, what would they think, it's not about the beat, the beat shouldn't be wild and conforming to the world. We are to sing a new song unto the Lord though and not always have the same old music sung over and over again.
Not in here to argue. Each one of use have our own walk with God, no I'm not a compromisable Christian, I can't stand how today's so called Christians act and I can't stand the kind of music the listen to and how they are trying to make church entertainment, appealing only to flesh, it shouldn't be about fleshy desires it should be about worship to God.
Before anyone's starts bashing my comments. I know it's not all about the music. I wrote a sermon titled, When The Music Stops, it's about us needing to get past dancing to a rhythm and entering into a higher realm of God a place of perfect praise where it's just you and God and nothing else matters. Music is good though, it can help someone get started on the way to a higher place if praise, the lyrics can be great, the sing can be anointed, you just gotta feel after God.
If you ever been to or heard Pastor Tony Spell preach or sing you'll know he is truly anointed, he comes on Holy Ghost Radio sometimes, you can also hear him and Life Tabernacle on my page.
Awesome! I felt the Holy Ghost all over, every time I listen to this song I do. Read some comments about this saying it's hype and not real, just basically a fast beat, some say we still have 1900's music that's where it's at, they say now days music is just hype not so, now I'm not for so called rap, hip hop, rock, and so in that is of the world, but let me tell you something, the Bible says in, Psalms 96:1, " O Sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord all the Earth. O, I'm gonna jump
Hey for all you who don't understand Pentecostal style praise and worship - you couldn't possibly understand what we who celebrate freedom in Christ until you walk a mile in our shoes. If you were set free and delivered in the same way I was then you would understand, when the subject of Jesus comes up, I can't HELP but praise! He gave His life for me! I will sing and shout and jump and praise until the day I see Him face to face! You can sit in the Baptist section in heaven I suppose. :)
@melissalovesjami This is NOT genuine Pentecostal praise and worship. You may think so because it's all you've ever seen. This is a synthetic, flesh driven, pop culture inspired, counterfeit version of the real thing. The majority of people fooled by this have had their sensitivity and discernment dulled by TV, movies, and worldly entertainment. They consequently cannot tell the difference between hype and Holy Ghost anointing.
@sensibleadult I can't help but laugh at you. Can you see through to the hearts of every human being in this service? No, of course not. The Bible says that David danced before the Lord so much that his clothes fell off! Hannah prayed and Eli mistook her for being drunk! Who are you to say what genuine praise and worship is? That is for Almighty God to decide! He is the only One who can see through to the intentions of a man's heart. (Rev. 2:23) Lighten up, why don't ya?
@melissalovesjami Neither of the examples you gave were people consciously imitating pop culture.I stand by my comments 100%. I have a book on trends in music which quotes Rev. Howard Goss, the first UPC superintendent. In response to the worldly trends in music in his day, he said, "Pentecost is not ready for the coming of the Lord." Would you also tell him to "lighten up"?
@sensibleadult It seems to me as if you are one of those people (much like the Pharisees) who give Jesus and Christianity a bad name. I am not as well-read as you appear to be, but while you look down your long, critical, judgmental nose, you yourself are being a stumbling block to the work of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said to come unto Him as little children. How many children do you know converse using words like "synthetic, flesh driven, pop culture inspired, counterfeit" to describe anything?
@melissalovesjami We may come to God as children, but there's a time to put away childish things. The adults need to take back over the music.. No respectable family lets the children determine the direction of the family. Children would choose entertainment over going to school, ice cream over nutrition, and living in a pigsty rather than cleaning up their rooms. That's what's happening in the churches; immature people are choosing music that appeals to their immaturity.
@sensibleadult Can I ask you exactly what it is about this song/video that is so offensive to you? The beat of the music? The people dancing, clapping their hands, what? I understand your point about the people in leadership and using discernment when choosing the music we sing during praise and worship, however, not everyone in the service are spiritually mature people. I believe that just as Paul said, we need to become all things to all people so that we may win some. Cont...
@melissalovesjami So you're saying we become immature to reach the immature, hip-hoppers to reach the hip-hoppers, rock and rollers to reach that crowd. Basically we just give people a "Christian" version of whatever it is they're doing, and call it "reaching" them. Is that about it? To me that cheapens the gospel. Whenever someone uses the term "relevant", warning lights start flashing in my mind. That's code for 'liberal" and "progressive", and it is destroying the church.
@sensibleadult I am not suggesting we should sin however, just as someone stated earlier the Word says that we should "sing to the Lord a new song". Our God does not change. His message never changes. The methods we use to bring people to Him DO change. I don't believe there is anything wrong with that. He has changed my life and now my goal is for Him to use me to reach others. I will use whatever means necessary outside of sin to make that happen. This includes being relevant to our culture.
@melissalovesjami Whenever I hear people talk about changing the methods, not the message, it invariably means they want to do away with certain aspects of separation from the world. Like it or not, that IS part of the "message". The end result is an entertainment showbiz type of worship with performance and hype replacing old time anointing, as we see in this video.
@sensibleadult It is clear to me that your sole objective in this debate is division. Rather than answer my questions, you are only interested in attaching stigmas to me and my style of praise & worship that you have read about. Why don't you try laying down your books & your 'holier-than-thou' attitude & consider what the Word of God says in Proverbs 6 about a person who stirs up conflict. I have used the Bible to back up my arguments, you have given your opinions. I have nothing else to say.
@melissalovesjami I am sorry, you are as wrong as you can be about my motivesYou have pooh-poohed every point I have made. Your basic argument is Nuh-uh! I have studied, played and taught music for over 35 yrs, probably longer than you've lived. My views are in harmony with Rev. Howard Goss, the 1st superintendent of the UPC, and many of the other Pentecostal pioneers who felt the same way. The Bible does not back up using worldly pop culture music in church, in fact it condemns it .
@melissalovesjami We are sick of worldly TV and movie engrossed music directors determining the direction of our music. This is not something I merely read in a book, as you erroneously stated, but it is something I have seen creep up on the church for many years. I graduated from a UPC Bible college(JCM) and the seeds of this were being sown even then. I refuse to see my church turned into a hip-hop club and me not say anything about it. Say what you might, there are some of us out here
@melissalovesjami willing to stand up and say the emperor isn't wearing any clothes. I stand by everything I have said 110%. This new music is nauseating. If I had a stronger word I would use it. You need to realize the world didn't begin the day you were born, nor did the church. There is a spirit behind this garbage that is insidious, regardless of your protests to the contrary. I have seen too much evidence to deny it.

@maltliickey i don't think you got the context of what I was saying; I am just so tired of all this constant blasting of how modern worship is, I have to say it. We are not going to see the church of the 1900's again, you have got to understand that a new generation will always bring upon change, no offense meant, just trying to be real.
So funny to me that the way people are always trying to bash Pentecostal Worship; so with the train of thought of most of the bitter folks commenting anything that has emotion is "wrong" or "garbage" well guess what words are just that WORDS and WORSHIP is made to be active! Get past your Bias Judgement and Praise with all you got THAT IS THE ONLY THING WORTH TALKING ABOUT!!!
Hey, why can't we all just be kind to each other, accept each other's differences, and enjoy this wonderful worship music? They are obviously singing and playing their hearts out to God. Let God judge the secret motives of the heart.
@jdjakegeorge Well for me its not about the style and can careless what style its played on for me the important thing is to worship God well i agree to the point where if sumone were to change the beat of a wordly song to a christian song then i wouldnt listen to it
@jdjakegeorge Thats true the presence of God does bring conviction but it also brings joy and one way joy is expressed its by jumping and running and praising the name of the Lord I just find it hard to believe that someone is sinning because the r listening to rock or they are listening to rap or whatever when in reality the words of the songs exalt God thats what a real song to God is words that exalt his name
@jdjakegeorge ok let me ask one question for you what is holy music???/ if you can prove to me what holy music is then i will consider what u said reasonable because for me it matters less on what the beat style or whatever because when u start to say that u interfere with cultural backgrounds of different countries on how they worship God for me the important thing is to exalt my God and give him praise i really dont understand why ppl make such big deal out of this GBy
Psalm 150:1 -6;1-Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.2-Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness.3-Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp.4-Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.5-Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals.6-Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD.
If anyone is waiting for the Spirit to dangle you about on spiritual strings like a puppet, then you will end up waiting till you die. DELIGHT yourself in the Lord. Sometimes you need to praise and worship him IN THE FLESH, because we are FLESH and BLOOD. Let your bodies glorify the Saviour of your soul. Love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. King David wasnt worried about how people saw him, and in fact, his own wife, despised his praise and worship, and she was cursed for it.
I think it is completely disgusting how you people are so judgmental! You cant just say "wow this song is a really good song and while it doesn't speak to me it does speak to others" ??? You hypocrites!!
the bible says sing a new song unto the Lord...... I dont see why ppl decide to start judging one another just by style of music seriously cant we just focused on the great thing God is still doing because all i can see is that it doesnt matter on the beat or style what matters is what the song says and who its for ppl judge to quickly and u dont know if God likes it or not GBY
PRAISE THE LORD LOVELY PRAISES JUMPING FOR JOY TO THE ONLY ONE GOD OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST, PLS. UPLOAD ME (ONE GOD) LYRICS WITH CHORDS, I'M SO BLESSED AS A PENTECOSTAL ONENESS.....
Just to nail the devil's lying tongue to the floor one more time. I came out of the drug world in 1973 and the worship on the concert floors to the groups make this look mild. We worship the Lord in spirit(excitement) and in Truth, as the Word says, or in the uttermost of sincerity. Lucifer is a mimic(read Isaiah 14) of the Truth. Only sincere people will spend eternity with the One Who holds your next breath. Nothing false or hypocritcal nature will enter there. Fact.
@Forkumovah Preach on Brother! The devil is a liar!! He wants you to believe it is unacceptable to praise and worship the Lord the in way some of us Christians choose to honor our Lord. It would even better if he could recruit some of you fellow Christians as one of his soldiers against allowing other's to praise The Almighy King in such a joyful and exciting way!! If he can get you you to upset enough, you'll past judgement, criticize,condemn,self-righteousness..who are you serving now?

I remember that church being built. As a matter of fact I helped as much as I could as young as I was. That was twenty or more years ago. That IS the Holy Spirit pouring out on that place. It hasn't changed since I can remember. So it doesn't matter what name you've given it these days. And it doesn't matter what song is being sung either. What matters is the worship. Maybe if you spent more time doing just that, worship, you wouldn't be bashing how other people do it.
i agree with troy1387 thats not God thats flesh and as for the comment or Charismatic being our worship thats not true at all AUPCJUSTIN well it is but it shouldnt be true we should have God This is Wmbarrassing thats y the world is like it is today is bc everyones so caught up in playn church that were not reaching out to the lost anymore n were nt gna make it by faking and jaking either
@Babygirl5269 I'm not sure I understand your comments. Charismatic does not mean "We have no standards." In the original Greek, in which the New Testament was written, charisma is any special grace conferred by God on an individual. It is defined as "a member of such a Christian movement; of, related to, or having charisma; of, related to, or being a member of a form of Christianity that emphasises the role of the Holy Spirit." which describes the Pentecostal church exactly.
Quit arguing people! Bringing reproach on the name of Jesus the whole bunch of ya!!! Dont you know the world sees that and thinks there is nothing to this. I am so tired of looking at a great video that God can anoint and use and his people are at the bottom aruing about something stupid and ruining it. Division is of the enemy. Shameful!!
Dude, what are you taking about? Did you even read what I said? The song is awesome. We are gonna learn it even. What is shameful is christian people arguing and insuting one another in the comments section Right where the world can see it. Not too much of a witness. Good anointed vides are ruined on utube cause on every one someone is arguing about the Godhead or baptism or something in the comments. That is shameful.
I can't believe they call it "Pentecostal"! This is so terrible! I'm so sick! What has happened to the "Pentecostal" church. It sure has backslid FAR AWAY from what it was when I was young! Oh God this rock music is killing us! I can't stand it Jesus! All the strobe lights and dancing without the Holy Ghost! It's so fleshly and sensual! It is totally embarrassing to REAL children of the Lord who love Holiness and Separation from this wicked world!
I can assure you, my hands are definately clean and free of rock music! Thank the Lord! If you like rock music, then I'll pray that God delivers you from that seducing spirit! He has delivered many souls from its awful grip!
@OldLineHoliness I dont really see what you meen, everytime this song is sang at church people fall over in the spirit and messages are given out, just cuz there is ligths and rock music does not meen its bas, plus this barelly rock music, that church is filled wiht alot of people that live fro God in truth adn in Holiness.
@OldLineHoliness What a great comment! Thank you for taking a stand against this repulsive style of music that has invaded the church. Fleshly and sensual describe it exactly. It is the music of a generation that is raised on entertainment and amusement. They have to have fleshly gratification-or they get bored. This music exists solely on hype and volume-otherwise it has no reason to be. The lights are to simulate a feeling of anointing, but all it does is assault the senses.
@luckyduck15 The official recording is linked in my video. The song may not sound the same or sound as good as another, but it's all about the anointing.
Please do not feel obligated to respond to zapthycat's comments. If you will take a quick glance at his youtube account, you will see he is only instigating righteous indignation in true Christians. His channel and favorites are filled with terrible videos, so his derogatory comments have no credibility. God bless all of you who share that "Freedom" with me....Freedom in the Holy Ghost is truly the most amazing experience on the planet!!
Whew! I have to say I was feeling the Holy Ghost right here in the kitchen while I was listening to this video. God is amazing to grant such freedom to worship with all we have!
To say that you don't like this song is the same as to say that anything that is an effect of the love and freeing power of God is not worth your time. It DOES NOT have to have jesus or god in it to show intent. your opinion is your opinion but to discredit a song simply because it doesnt fit your particular taste is poor for even what i suspect to be a hipicritical out dated persona
Actually "hallelujah" is the highest praise, and they say hallelujah quite a few times in the song, which in the original Hebrew means "Praise Yah" which literally translates to English as "Praise The Lord." So there is quite a few mentions of God in this song. And I'm not quite sure what you mean by charismatic, which is "Of, relating to, or being a type of Christianity that emphasizes personal religious experience and divinely inspired powers, as of healing, prophecy, and the gift of tongues."
If you think being "charismatic" is a good thing, then you have demonstrated my point perfectly.
I don't want any songs sung in my church that have God veiled in any way, and this song doesn't have to do with God in any way. It's like saying "come to church where you can feel happy and free". If that's the reason anyone comes to church, then they've missed the point entirely.
Please explain your definition of "charismatic," as I have already quoted the dictionary in my first reply. I think charismatic worship is a great thing, with exaltation of God, speaking in tongues, healing and prophecy. I'm still considered a new convert to Pentecostalism, so please explain to me what you mean when you relate being charismatic to being a bad thing.
And the feeling of "happy and free" is ONE of the reasons I got in my church, not the main reason of course, but one of them.
great comment i agree completely. Some people get over shadowed in being nit picky keep up the faith I promise the longer your in it the better it gets MUCH RESPECT
Not sure how to address this except to ask if you have ever been in bondage to any sort of sin? Drugs, booze, immoral life styles? He that the Son hath set free is free indeed. Myself , a pastors wife, say if you can not find freedom in the house of the Almighty God and CELEBRATE it, then where? How is God "veiled" in this song?
I'm not sure I understand your comment. You say charismatic like it's a bad thing. Charismatic is the type of worship that we have; don't be ashamed of it. And the methods we have and use to win souls may change, but the doctrine never does. Acts 2:38 is still preached around the world, whether there be music or not. I absolutely love songs like "Come Thou Fount," but I appreciate songs like "Jesus Said It" or others that directly quote the Bible in the song.
I have no clue why, but I am not offended. Jesus said His people will be hated among all nations for His name's sake. I was offended at first, but that is what Satan wanted. I now accept the persecution, because the prophets of the OT faced it, Jesus faced it, and many that followed after Him. I will not be ashamed to say that I believe Jesus is God, and when I received His Spirit, I spoke in tongues. Through my trials and tribulations will I not cease to dance before the Lord. God bless!
Our church is having a Holy Ghost Crusade this weekend and this is our theme! God is bringing freedom to Painesville, Ohio!!! Keep praising God IBC!!!!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Eh, thanks! It's going awesome! So far we've had our Crusade... 25 were filled with the Holy Ghost and 25 were baptized in Jesus' name! Our first night, as soon as the Holy Spirit fell, the power to the whole city went out! We all had to use our cellphones as flashlights, and we know there were 13 who received the HS that night, while there could be more. We had packed out services that weekend, and there's many new faces at our church!
this song has a great annointing on it. when i first heard it God really loosed his Spirit. the only thing i was kinda dssapointed in is that at Ladies Conference they sang this and they sang the lyrics "he set me free yes he set me free. he broke the bonds of prison for me. im glorybound my Jesus to see." and i would have loved to hear it on here.
OMG!!! I LOVE THIS SONG! THIS SONG SETS ME FREE!! when ever they play this song in church the holy ghost comes into me like a bomb its soooo amazing!!!!
wow I love that song if you do this at your church on the halleluahs the 8th one go into a full snare double time and then come out with a cymbal hit going back into the chorus sounds awesome we do that at our church
Hey can anyone tell me who wrote this song? We have sung it in my church but I haven't been able to find it anywhere! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I understand your concern, but we are appealing to a different generation. The message never changes, but the methods of getting the message out do change. If someone came into my church and heard this song, and was pricked in his/her heart to repent, then I would be there to praise the fact of them repenting, not the fact that this song follows hip-hop or rock culture.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I, as a Pentecostal preacher, am so disgusted with this headbanging music that has taken over our churches. Why do we have to follow hip-hop and rock culture? This is more hype than worship. Just because our senses are assaulted doesn't mean we have worshipped. I would hate to know this garbage awaited me at my church. FLESH ON PARADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After having read your comments on several other Pentecostal music videos A.I have no respect for you and I do not recognize you as a Pentecostal preacher. B.there is an obvious attempt to sow discord among Pentecostals that I sense in you. You, sir, are not conveying a spirit of God; therefore your remarks hold no weight. I pray God moves you to change. That is all that I will say to you and if you are by chance feeling the need to respond, don't, for I will not pay it any attention. God bless.
Hey Bro., I am sorry you feel like that! When my grandmother, who was a pastor's wife for 36yrs. and now has to take care of grandfather because of his alzheimers, can dance in the Holy Ghost to this song because it brings freedom to the shackles that have bound her with his situation. I think you are sorely wrong!!!!!!!!!! God Bless
wow!as a pentacostal preacher, have you ever been to an "old time gospel" service?Hype to the extreme! What is diference between the music you are used to and the newer music? It is still usually in 3/4 or 4/4 time, sometimes faster.sometime slower.A worship song comes from the heart,If you want to talk flesh on parade, talk to king David about dancing through his palace naked!Let the bride worship her husband as she pleases, let the church worship it's King! Let the Spirit and the Bride say come!
ok personally i feel like the difference between older style music and the newer stuff is the generation that we live in if we cant make a large collective effort to reach this generation of young ppl who respond to the music they listen to now more than ever b4 what are we doin here? but the difference is the style and as sad as it is (cuz the hymns are our roots) new ppl who come into the body always pay attention the style of worship

They consequently cannot tell the difference between hype and Holy Ghost anointing.
sensibleadult 5 months ago
@sensibleadult I can't help but laugh at you. Can you see through to the hearts of every human being in this service? No, of course not. The Bible says that David danced before the Lord so much that his clothes fell off! Hannah prayed and Eli mistook her for being drunk! Who are you to say what genuine praise and worship is? That is for Almighty God to decide! He is the only One who can see through to the intentions of a man's heart. (Rev. 2:23) Lighten up, why don't ya?
melissalovesjami 4 months ago
@melissalovesjami Neither of the examples you gave were people consciously imitating pop culture.I stand by my comments 100%. I have a book on trends in music which quotes Rev. Howard Goss, the first UPC superintendent. In response to the worldly trends in music in his day, he said, "Pentecost is not ready for the coming of the Lord." Would you also tell him to "lighten up"?
sensibleadult 4 months ago
@sensibleadult It seems to me as if you are one of those people (much like the Pharisees) who give Jesus and Christianity a bad name. I am not as well-read as you appear to be, but while you look down your long, critical, judgmental nose, you yourself are being a stumbling block to the work of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said to come unto Him as little children. How many children do you know converse using words like "synthetic, flesh driven, pop culture inspired, counterfeit" to describe anything?
melissalovesjami 4 months ago
@melissalovesjami We may come to God as children, but there's a time to put away childish things. The adults need to take back over the music.. No respectable family lets the children determine the direction of the family. Children would choose entertainment over going to school, ice cream over nutrition, and living in a pigsty rather than cleaning up their rooms. That's what's happening in the churches; immature people are choosing music that appeals to their immaturity.
sensibleadult 4 months ago
@sensibleadult Can I ask you exactly what it is about this song/video that is so offensive to you? The beat of the music? The people dancing, clapping their hands, what? I understand your point about the people in leadership and using discernment when choosing the music we sing during praise and worship, however, not everyone in the service are spiritually mature people. I believe that just as Paul said, we need to become all things to all people so that we may win some. Cont...
melissalovesjami 4 months ago
@melissalovesjami So you're saying we become immature to reach the immature, hip-hoppers to reach the hip-hoppers, rock and rollers to reach that crowd. Basically we just give people a "Christian" version of whatever it is they're doing, and call it "reaching" them. Is that about it? To me that cheapens the gospel. Whenever someone uses the term "relevant", warning lights start flashing in my mind. That's code for 'liberal" and "progressive", and it is destroying the church.
sensibleadult 4 months ago
@sensibleadult I am not suggesting we should sin however, just as someone stated earlier the Word says that we should "sing to the Lord a new song". Our God does not change. His message never changes. The methods we use to bring people to Him DO change. I don't believe there is anything wrong with that. He has changed my life and now my goal is for Him to use me to reach others. I will use whatever means necessary outside of sin to make that happen. This includes being relevant to our culture.
melissalovesjami 4 months ago

The Bible does not back up using worldly pop culture music in church, in fact it condemns it .
sensibleadult 3 months ago

@jdjakegeorge Well for me its not about the style and can careless what style its played on for me the important thing is to worship God well i agree to the point where if sumone were to change the beat of a wordly song to a christian song then i wouldnt listen to it
SalApostolic 7 months ago
@jdjakegeorge I dont see it like that
SalApostolic 7 months ago
@jdjakegeorge Thats true the presence of God does bring conviction but it also brings joy and one way joy is expressed its by jumping and running and praising the name of the Lord I just find it hard to believe that someone is sinning because the r listening to rock or they are listening to rap or whatever when in reality the words of the songs exalt God thats what a real song to God is words that exalt his name
SalApostolic 7 months ago

Babygirl5269 1 year ago
@Babygirl5269 I'm not sure I understand your comments. Charismatic does not mean "We have no standards." In the original Greek, in which the New Testament was written, charisma is any special grace conferred by God on an individual. It is defined as "a member of such a Christian movement; of, related to, or having charisma; of, related to, or being a member of a form of Christianity that emphasises the role of the Holy Spirit." which describes the Pentecostal church exactly.

OMG Did zapthycat go to every version of this song to diss it Jeez! TOOL
MTHORN28 2 years ago
I knew IBC was headed in a charismatic direction, but I didn't know it was getting this bad. There's nothing about God whatsoever in this song!
zapthycat 2 years ago
Actually "hallelujah" is the highest praise, and they say hallelujah quite a few times in the song, which in the original Hebrew means "Praise Yah" which literally translates to English as "Praise The Lord." So there is quite a few mentions of God in this song. And I'm not quite sure what you mean by charismatic, which is "Of, relating to, or being a type of Christianity that emphasizes personal religious experience and divinely inspired powers, as of healing, prophecy, and the gift of tongues."
aupcjustin 2 years ago
If you think being "charismatic" is a good thing, then you have demonstrated my point perfectly.
I don't want any songs sung in my church that have God veiled in any way, and this song doesn't have to do with God in any way. It's like saying "come to church where you can feel happy and free". If that's the reason anyone comes to church, then they've missed the point entirely.
zapthycat 2 years ago
Please explain your definition of "charismatic," as I have already quoted the dictionary in my first reply. I think charismatic worship is a great thing, with exaltation of God, speaking in tongues, healing and prophecy. I'm still considered a new convert to Pentecostalism, so please explain to me what you mean when you relate being charismatic to being a bad thing.
And the feeling of "happy and free" is ONE of the reasons I got in my church, not the main reason of course, but one of them.
aupcjustin 2 years ago

Not sure how to address this except to ask if you have ever been in bondage to any sort of sin? Drugs, booze, immoral life styles? He that the Son hath set free is free indeed. Myself , a pastors wife, say if you can not find freedom in the house of the Almighty God and CELEBRATE it, then where? How is God "veiled" in this song?

troy1387 2 years ago

God bless!

God bless.

wow!as a pentacostal preacher, have you ever been to an "old time gospel" service?Hype to the extreme!
