That rear spoiler... and without that beautiful early 928 wheels... the car just dont look as beautiful. Keep the classic cars in original condition please!
I know it's been 3 years since you posted this video and probably don't own the car anymore, but thanks for sharing. I am a lover of non "S" 928s. Although I prefer the look of the S cars, I am a true fan of the "classic" early 928s and simply appreciate them more, but this car is the nicest looking non S I've ever seen and offers the best of both worlds for me. I like the updated whees and the spoiler addition. What year(s) of 928s were those wheels and can you tell me about the spoiler? :-)
I sold this Porsche 928 and bought a Honda Legend coupe 1991 model instead. The car is mush cheaper to drive, and parts are 1/3 price to the 928. The 928 looks great , but there are to many problems, and thats a shame .......

Oh no not the dogleg ancient technology. Sloppy german engineered gear shifters and transmissions. had a few myself and hated them. they are so imprecise worn and sloppy even on cars with only 150k. Even honda gear shifters are more precise. Germans make everything too "big" the starter motors are about 4 times as big as jap ones. And I am no jap lover I hate the rust on those cars.
I had an 8mpg 928S2. Came with a pile of history in a big folder. Loads of money spent by stupid disillusioned owners...and I just added myself to the list. Had a 911 even worse...then a 944 not to bad, but then it was half VW.
Yes down bottom left on the manual gear box for 1st gear. Bit tricky to drive but as they say it's a drivers car. I have a 928 S2 manual. the brake/ gas are close together to assist with heal/ toe changes during race
When do ppl learn, that' it's bad kharma to destroy a vid of a great sounding car with music? Other than that: That's oine well kept 928. Always a joy to see:-)
looved the driveby shot!! But you should not call it an original, when you have replaced the rims and spoiler.. But that's nit-picking ;) Greets from Denmark
I've got a 78 Shark as well, only mine is Black on Black with a 5-speed. Love it!
Currently I've got the "S" type spoilers front & rear. But I really like the look of later 928 GTS wing on the early bodies and am thinking about doing the same to mine.
I need some advice. I'm interested in purchasing a 1982 928, 77,000 miles , for $4,000 American. It seems to be in good shape (haven't yet seen it in person). Is this a good buy? Is the 928 reliable (for daily driving, as this would be how I'd drive it)? Thanks.
I now own a 928 s4, and bought it 4 years ago when it had 43,000 miles on it, in near perfect condition. I bought it for 21k and have spent over 23k in upgrades, maintenance, tires and repairs - this includes a complete JL Audio sound system with XM Now its worth...17,000 - max any questions?
I just bought a '78 model after owning an 87 and an 89. Next year it qualifies for antique plates here in Florida. Simply amazing! The '78 drives as nice as the other two. Theses cars are so well made they will outlast us all!
Thank`s for the nice comments !! This is a special car, the feeling of retro and still a fantastic sportscar 29 years after it was built. Lots of torque and the massive sound of the V8 makes it a fun and fast drive. The car is for sale and the future lucky buyer will find this Porsche 928 in totally original and perfect condition.
Ps: The song i used for the video is from "Jadis", a British progressive rock band, - Totally awsome music!!

Is that where first gear is on a manual 928? Or did you start out in second?
Thanks.

Hello ! I started out in first gear.
The oposite gearbox ;-)

It's called a dogleg gearbox. The 944 and the 924 had it as well. So did the 2cv though ;)

and what´s the speed limit in norway ? i guess 90 or 100 km/h...i hope there are some lonely streets without police
hayastan5 4 years ago
80km/h on country roads
robert1984nor 3 years ago
That´s the one and only good thing in Germany:
We don´t have speed limits on 75 % of our Motorways and dual carrigeways.
80 km/h !!! I would fall asleep
