  • This video has some good presentation to it, but you're missing a MAJOR point. Most of Chinese Malaysian I know speak Chinese, but NONE of Chinese Indonesian I know speak any Chinese (of course you have exceptions like the guy in the video). This is due to the ban of Chinese culture during Suharto era between 1967-1998. As a result, the majority of Chinese Indonesian knows barely any Chinese, but rather local languages such as Javanese, Banjarese, Sundanese, etc

  • @drahcirtimothy1 im chinese indonesian.. and we speak hokkien language on our daily life. u know what about chinese indonesia????? why u can said that none of chinese indonesian speak any chinese.

  • @sien888 Sorry, my bad. I didn't mean to say "none", I meant the ones that live in the island of Java. Again, sorry to say "none", I'm just emphasizing the fact that a significant majority cannot speak Chinese (this is true for those that live in Java).

  • @drahcirtimothy1 its ok. nvm :)

  • haha.. nice video, im from medan city, sumatra island.. and we speak hokkien on our daily life. hokkien lang :p

  • Err, BOTH Chinese Indonesians and Chinese Malaysians came from Southeastern China. You are wrong on this.

  • DAMN,southern Malaysian used to speak Hokkien also lah!!!! In Melaka majority of the chinese are hokkien,in Muar they is hokkien also

  • yang satu nya logat melayu banget... yang satu logat Indo Banget hehe lucunya

  • hahah ngomong singlish nya lucu!

  • aduh , ngomong inggrisnya logatnya lucu habis ,,

  • Haha I like this video.. Actually indonesian don't speak malay we speak bahasa indonesia and I hate it when people say indonesian speak malay haiss.. Anw I'm from jakarta but my family from potianak teo chew nang ;)

  • it really depends where & which region you were bought up in indonesia in regards to be able to speak mandarin, hokkien etc. Also, depends if the family generation still have the capacity to speak Chinese....Mostly are already adapted to Indonesian culture, so they tend to lose their ability to speak Chinese. But almost the majority of chinese-indonesian speak bahasa Indonesia as the main language, speaking chinese would be a bonus, if they're family still has the ability to speak it...

  • @biggynbex I totally agree with you. You brought up a very good point.

  • 穿白色衣服的那個怎麼講話那麼土那麼傲慢?

  • lol this is actually kinda stupid comparing between the same ethnic, in Canada, we think we are the same, I myself chinese born in Indonesia, and hongkong people, chinese people, singapore chinese, malaysian chinese think we are chinese

  • @bogellenong no you're not. saying that southern chinese are chinese is saying aztecs are spanish europeans. old chinese assimilation policy seems to be very sucessful

  • When the guy in green speaks: "Borneo wa" <-- unique for Pontianak's Tio Ciu tone =P

  • hahaha..!! I'm also from Pontianak, KalBar..!

  • the green's shirt guy speak english in indonesian slang. but not all chinese don't eat beef right?

  • @adikfatin Yes, U're right. Only some chinese doesn't eat beef.

  • Lol~

eventhough im chinese, when i speak with Penang chinese,we end-up speaking malay

So,i think i understand what the indonesian-chinese guy meant ^__^

  • It is pathetic to see people keep comparing themselves to others of the same ethnicity.

  • Aww my fiance is Chinese Malaysian :)

  • The whole world Chinese must unite
