  • The word Farsi comes of Parsi, which comes of Parti.

    Farsi is a relative new language, which some people in Iran (which has a new history, about 150 years )talks, around 25% of the population, and rest use Aranic, Turkish, kurdish, balouch and pashto.

    Iran was a part of Ariana (Ariana covered Iran kurdistan, balouchistan afghanistan and tajikistan). but a important part of Ariana calls Khurasan, which is a part of afghanistan now.

  • this book is hilarious. you don't have to be iranian or american to enjoy it. her second book, "laughing without an accent", is very funny too. i hope she continues to write more about her wonderful family!

  • Would I be able to read this book while relating to what this woman says and finding it funny, if I have little experience with Iranian-Americans and their culture? I am British-Iranian.

  • I like the descriptions of the Newport people in the book because when i go to newport high school for a waterpolo game i think "what rich snobs"
