I took my 10 yr old nephew to see this launch. We were like 10 miles away from the launch. It was really cool to experience that with him. I remember my first trip down to see one go off, and have been hooked ever since.

Space shuttle launches will soon become a thing of the past. Only seven of them left before the fleet is retired. Then it's nothing until Orion in 2014, if that. So enjoy and support the shuttle as much as we can. They're gonna be in history books soon enough...
