  • hop on it

  • lol a kid would love to ride in that

  • thats the shit

  • wow thats a risky design but i like it it showes your enginuity

    hows it for acceleration?

great build its great to see stuff like this on utube

    great work 5 stars

  • nice job, too bad it doesn't have a bigger engine in it... it would be sweet with like an 85cc 2-stroke motocross engine in it

  • Awesome work!

but where did you get the differential from? From a lawnmower? Or did you build it by yourself?

    thanks for your answer

  • Awesome work!

but where did you get the differential from? From a lawnmower? Or did you build it by yourself?

    thanks for your answer

  • dude nice... you should make it so you could like sit in it.

  • Then it would be a car or go-cart steerable by remote control.

  • u can stick a little kid in tht an drive them around lol i want a ride

  • mee too :(

  • This vid is from two years ago...Do you still have it? upgraded? taken cool new vids?

  • that will give ken a woody

  • can i use any 12v Solid State Relay

  • can u use the Solid State Relay Driver for the actuator to control a motor, using a cheap rc car radio system?

  • 50cc engine hmm would have liked tro see more power but damn its still sweet

  • What would something like this cost?

  • how fast does it go

  • why did you go with that susspension design?

  • It's my own design. I have never seen this design before and wanted to see how well it worked.

  • can i use for the stering a car Windshield Wiper and use your diagram from the buil info?

  • Yes, my SSR Driver will run a OLD STYLE windshield wiper motor. BUT the newer motors with sensing contacts and electronics will give you trouble. You need the one that only spins around and around and you need to "disable" the sensing switches. I tried this first and the gearing was way to fast and it didn't have enough power. But, you might find a way to make it work that I didn't think of. I would like to see your progress so shoot me some pics or a vid when you get a chance.

  • why don't u use a electric window motor they are pritty strong

  • can i use for the stering a car Windshield Wiper and use your diagram from the buil info?

  • is the sterriny proportional? like a real rc?

  • Yes, steering is proportional and has 500 pounds of pull. You can see the Solid State Relay Driver I made for the 12V linear actuator on my web page. The address is in the description of this video.

  • now, just put a kid in it! joking! nice ride man, well built

  • wow. this is cool. good work

  • it looks like a fuckin mars rover!

  • did you try using a 18v cordless drill for the steering servo? It's a nice cheap solution with loads of torque

  • thats cool!

have alook at my VIDEOS and see my steering control solution

  • Haha freaking sweet man. people like you should get the an award just for coming up with something like that. Now if you could figure out how to fab some lawnmower blades on the bottom of one you could sell that babies. Haha

  • wow dude, thats awesome. great job.

  • muhahaha this is great! I want one xD

how did you get the stearing of this monster to work?

  • I started off using two servos linked together. They were the highest torque Hitec's 1/4 scale HS-805BB but they weren't enough. So I made a servo out of a 12V linear actuator like they use for custom cars to lift hoods and trunks etc. I used the gutts out of a servo for pulse to control 4 5A solid state relays to power the actuator. Then I rigged a pot for input to the servo. Does that help? It's pretty crude but it was all I could think of. message me if you want the link to the build page.

  • nice work man... respect! in our team we could need someone like you xD

  • hey man that looks abit like a rock crawler try making the suspension independent on a pivot bar on the top of the shocks and that would be sum mean fuck ass crawler

  • LoL

  • A little bored. Mostly needed an excuse to go work out in the garage insted of stay inside with the crazy girlfriend. It was cheaper than therapy. Luckily I came to my senses and dumped her.

  • shes the crazy one and ur building rc cars out of golf carts and mopeds... haha.. i like the way you think =]

  • Yeah, I was happy as long as she left me alone. Working in the garage ignoring her seemed to be acceptable to her. If I wanted to leave she would sit in front of my car or, if I got to the truck faster than she could plop down in front she would climb on the truck and hang on the lumber rack and yell at me to stop. Oh, and when I finally got her to move out she took EVERYTHING ... including the light fixtures! Yeah ... you decide who's crazy.

  • thats pretty harsh.

  • cool.....

  • i like it i like it

  • it is too heavy man. waht's it's weigth?

  • Of course power to weight ratio is always an issue. But, keep in mind, this modified engine and transmission came off a honda moped that was capable of propelling a 200 lb moped with a 200 lb passenger over 45mph and this truck only weighs 100 lbs. I suppose if I wanted it to go faster the obvious starting point would be gearing. But, the only steering devise with enough power was a linear actuator with 500lbs pull and it's slow. Fast heavy car + slow steering = broken legs! Haha.

  • lol u should sell it to the military....

  • looks sweet

  • thats bad ass but put a power shot on it or something!

  • dude thats sick and just knowing that you built it yourself makes it even cooler. it would be a lot better ir it had a seat and if it went faster. i would love to see that thing pull a wheely. =P

  • how much did all of that cost you?

  • I recently sold the motor for $150. It was sitting around my garage for a few years. I paid $150 for the springs, $60 for the wheels and tires. I found the barbie jeep at the dump. Pneumatic cylinders were $120. Actuator and Diff were from another project but I paid $110 for the Actuator and $60 for the diff. The Steel, chain, rods, bushings etc were probably $150. RC stuff was all in my garage but you could probably pick it up on ebay for under $100. And a billion hours of my labor!

  • haha shit thats awesome!

now put a gun on it!!

  • Dude-"rock on" im trying something like that just a littel biger... '250cc-honda Odise',

    O ya!!!

  • great!!!!

  • i sure hope that thing dont run off cus it would do a bit more damage than an savage O.o

  • that's a good way to keep track of your kids... "what? little sally is driving towards the river!"...dad pulls out the remote control and says "i'll take care of this"

  • what does imao means and

can it go any faster > great work dude

    serious

  • "LAMO" mean Laugh my ass off

  • I always wanted a four-wheel drive go cart, this is as close as I've seen. good work.

  • I would love to build one of my own!!! very sweet

  • a you should put a 50cc honda moto in that or 110 kawie engine

  • good job man that thing is pretty tight.

  • hey you could sit on it and drive to the shop or summick! hahaha

  • man awesome

  • it would be cool if it was faster

  • C'mon stick on the barbie jeep shell!

  • i lafed wen i first saw this but really kool i dont no how many ppl would um take the timne for this

  • lol put a seat on it

  • practicly a life size remote control

  • you got a jeep with street tires..... thats not right throw some swampers on it!!

  • You could (and should) fit a small child in there :)!Hehe...^^

    Nice job

  • Is there any wire setups that can be bought that will charge the battery from the motor? Or did you not find any.

  • whats that song

called i cant remember who sings it o and thats like the awsomest rc car i have ever seen please respond o and how is the engine conected to the axel

  • thats so cool

  • Awesome !!!!!!!!!

  • It's so cool when people make stuff that is bouncing around in there brain. That's what's extra cool about YouTube, you can see all these people making nutty stuff just because they can and they want to. A+ Chief.

  • Yeah, I played with all of that after this vid. It wasn't tuned quite right either and the transmission wasn't shifting because of that. I got it all tuned right and it performed better but then the steering was too slow. Hahaha ..it's a work in progress.

  • It's geared too high. Raise the rear sprocket dai. or lower the front dia. Enjoyed

  • should make it ridable 4 lil ppl

  • cool :)

  • seems to me it needs a little more guts go w/ a 80cc dirtbike motor or somethin find you an old honda

  • No, it's only 2WD. I have limited fabrication resources and funds. I don't have access to CNC lathes or mills etc. So, yes, it's a little slow and rough but all I have is a welder, grinder and imagination.

  • is it 4 wheel drive??????????

  • that's one bad ass RC.

  • its too slow man..

  • Did you find the link to my web page with the specifications? My actuator is driven by servo circutry which plugs into a regular futaba receiver but also requires a connection directly to 12V. The receiver is only good for a certian about of amperage wich will not be enough to power a large actuator or servo. Even the GOOD quarter scale servose have a harnes that draws power directly from the battery.

  • Can you do a video in detail about steering setup/ servo to steer etc, currently building a custom rc buggy, need heavy duty servo and cant seem to find anything strong enough.. how much does the jeep weigh?

  • You will find a link to my web page in the description of this video. That page has details of the the actuator I used and SSR driver I made.

  • what kind of torque is your steering motor rated at? what does the buggy weigh? in chasing a 100kg-cm or close to it of torque for steering my 30kg 2 stoke buggy. something that is easily plugged into an rc receiver without to much work as im no pro with electronic wiring

  • i used to build custom go-carts and doom buggys and im only 15 i no alot of things in technology im very smart and not a geek what so ever but i can never be able to make RC cars it to intense to have the HTz right. Im very impressed you used a weeder engine for it those are handy :)

  • Dune, buggys?

  • What is the dimesion does it has ???

  • BEAST! LMAO nice one!

  • can u ride on that ?

  • i love the shock spring style!

  • looks like short circuit the movie without the body on, you need to put briggs and straton 50 horsepower tractor engine in there and nitrous and turbo charge it!!!

Benford tools would be proud, oh oh oh oh!!!

  • thats smart!

  • definitely needs more balls, good work tho.

  • Now that is pretty damn cool right there.

  • this is what i call "MONSTER toy"

  • good job! whats the top speed?

  • good job how durable is it?

  • haha so nice !! Nice done

  • holy shit thats huge lol

  • dooood u need 2 get a bigger engine ane u need 2 make it drivable lol that would be TIGHT!!

  • great work!

  • Info, build progress, pics and some specs available on the web page mentioned in the description of this video.

  • does anyone know how to mount a gun on that?

  • How does it turn? Im designing a sort of rig like that myself, love the suspension idea.

  • how fast dose it go?

  • I say... COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. In that time, he could have probably invented something useful like a remote control lawnmower or something... IDK!

  • hehe funny thing :)

  • BIG!

  • that cool

  • can you make one full size ??????????????

  • hmm... thats sick but a little slow

  • Look at its size

  • What kind of servo to turn have you used?

    It is a servo!?

  • I made a "servo" out of a 100lb pull 12V actuator and some ssr's. Please see posting about 10 comments up from here for more info.

  • very nice.cool

  • does anyone have any ideas about how to mount a weapon on someting like this?

  • best youtube comment ive seen in forever.

  • custom mount and then bolt it on!

  • what engine and what type of remote control did u use?

  • Have you ever thought about turning something like that into a autonomous military/surveillance vehicle?

  • im in iraq but i sent that video to my wife because im building that for my daughter when i get home! you are the man!

  • Wow, that's GREAT! PLEASE please please send me a pic or video of your creation. I really enjoy seeing other peoples ideas, creations and upgrades. I had a 180 pound adult sit on this after I hardend up the shocks and it rode fine. The passenger can't steer mine though. You may want to modify your's to steer. with a steering wheel.

  • hey, nice job fella. i made one that i put my daughter on. click on my name and check out the vid to see what you think. im doing another one at the moment. taking the engine out from my watercooled pocket bike. it does 95km/h with me on it and im 80kg. should be fun..... not so much for the person i decide to stap in it! hahah.........

  • That is the coolest shit ever!!!!

  • thats what a call suspension

  • watch?v=zSgxXkyXyRg

    watch?v=bd7oG3nION4

  • I can't imagine what gnarly ass steering servo you must of used! Props dude

  • I made a servo out of a 100 pound actuator. I first tried two of the best Hitec quarter scale servose but that wasn't enough. You can see it on my web site. The address is in the description of this video. Click on the "about this video" butto at the top right. Thanks for watching.

  • i like it. i would like to know dificulty and cost.

  • Yes, thanks Naska311. I usually delete these questions because it gets asked a LOT but it's the first question in this blog.

  • hey what is the name of the song and the jeep is nice

could a small child ride in it

  • does it go faster

  • nice!!!

  • huh huh huh ha ha it went over a bumb ha ha it wasnt that funny mate chill out ha

  • lets just say you had a small child, maybe 7-8 years old, could they get in and drive it?

  • thanks

  • nice, suspension and shock design!!

  • Thanks, I had this design floating around in my head for a year or so before I decided to put in on paper. Then, after a few calculations, measurements and mock-ups I was excited enough to build it. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.

  • haha that tite

  • quote;

Why did I make this? .... It's cheaper than therapy!

I need therapy, all I've done is collect everything I possibly need,.. now the family just look the other way .Bad hobby .

  • Hahaha, yeah, I get the "look the other way" reaction a lot too when I'm welding, cutting , grinding and making all kinds of noise in my garge. Oh well.

  • How about adding anti roll suspention levers in the independent suspention setup, then you maynot need such poofy tires and go for low radial instead. What you made this for ? Barbie !!?.

  • Why did I make this? .... It's cheaper than therapy!

  • that is sweet

  • what is the song name?????

  • slow as a snail humping a snake ;) lol nice rc car

  • thats aaaaawsome!!!!

  • dude the suspension totally looks like a warthog... make a warthog body... omg.. that'd be awesome...

  • no kiding :D

  • wow

  • talk about long arms....

    sheesh

  • leave him alone... you're just jealous at how inventive he is and that he made that awesome creation

  • i was clearly commenting on the awesome long control arms on that thing.

  • that looks like u came back from halo or somthing?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

nice try having someone sit on it or something?!

  • Yeah, I couldn't find any hydraulic cylinders that small so I used pneumatic cylinder, modified them with a rod seal, filled them with hydraulic fluid and ran a pipe from the extend port to the retract port with a wing valve to adjust stiffness. It worked pretty well. All open you could push it down with one hand. All closed and you could stand on it without it budging.

  • The suspension was really interesting. So simple it was gorgeous.

Im always a fan of more power....know what'd be fun? Use the Aixro Wankel engine for the car...around 48hp, only about 4500 bucks though.

    Cheers, well done.

  • Thanks. Yeah, I'm always a fan of "way too much power for the application" too but there's always a controversy between the toys and the bank. Thanks for watching!

  • Ok, maybe the wankel is a bit overkill...

However, a big chainsaw motor would be a bit lighter on there, or at least the same size but the best part is, in the Marine modeling world there are modified Zenoah's and Homelites that are pretty serious and CHEAP. They come with their own fans, shrouds, clutches, everything. But good nonetheless. What were those pneumatics you were using for the shocks?

  • How much time approximately u spend building it? reply to my comment.

    Thnx! Xd!

    -Me497

  • Oh, gosh. Well, I machined the spindles, welded and machined sprocket drives, honed all the suspension holes, and had a couple engineering quirks that cost some time. I also have many hours of design , engineering and drafting. Then there was MANY trips to the hardware store, researching online for the best place to buy springs, pneumatic cylinders, wheels, actuators, sprockets, servos, differential etc. It took about a month but I would guess only about 2 hours of actual build time.

  • Yeah, my thoughts exactly. I was sure to have a failsafe in place before the first voyage just in case! If it happens to get out of range or lose the signal for ANY reason (including low batteries) it automatically turns off the throttle and applies the brake! It's a good idea for ALL gas RC cars but especially the ones that weigh a couple hundred pounds! Thanks for watching.

  • wow, i'd hate to have a runaway with that thing.

  • lol

  • dude u could sit on that lol

  • Yep, been there, done that. Unfortunately no vieo of it though.

  • that is a wet dream come true lol!!!! nice truck and good work on the frame and suspension.

  • I tried using 2 quarter scale servos but it just wasn't enough power. So, I made a servo control with solid state relays to control a 12V actuator similar to the ones used to open trunks and hoods on cars. You can find schematic and pics on my web page. There's a link to it in the description of this video.

  • great work man, what kinda servos did u use?

  • that is a sweet toy to have!!!

  • what engine does dat have (eg) strimmer, lawnmower or a bigger 1.

  • The engine is out of a honda moped. It's an air cooled 50cc two stroke with an automatic transmission. I chose that because it has the transmission and cyntrifical clutch all built in. It's just gas and go. I had to machine apart the rear wheel and machine a gear to fit over it and welded it together to make it a sprocket drive instead of a rear wheel on the moped.

  • kwl ur good ide like to see a video with jumps or off road

  • nnnnnnnnnnniiiiiiiiiiiccccccccceeeeeeeeeeeeeee jeep

  • sweet song

  • If he built that from scratch, that's pretty cool, he knows what he's doing, he just needs a huge wad of cash and he'd be working for nasa. Keep up the spark of genius dude. you're on your way...

  • it would be awesome if you could ride it. lol
