I also have a very serious disability. 20% of people like me successfullly take thier own lives. Ignorant doctors made it far worse. All my life I've seen on tv and at the movies ridicule people like me. I tried, truly tried, to take my life twice. I shouldn't be on this green earth.
It was people of faith in Christ that took me in when I became homeless. Years of getting straight A's at the University and contributing to the people..othere scoff.

@hello10577 He's not necessarily a religious preacher, but in his book I recently purchased, he makes constant references to God and the Bible and how God helped him through the earliest times in his life when he was facing suffering, then refers the reader to how they, too, should realize that they are precious in the eyes of God, etc etc. Christianity is definitely a huge aspect of his teachings, if you look into it.
He just said what I wanted to say all along: If he had lived in a poor country, or if he did not have loving and caring parents who did everything for him, he would never be who he is today. His journey has been tough, no doubt, and what he is today has taken years to achieve. But Im trying to say that there are people in poor countries like him that are abandoned by their families and their government, so they can never be like him! THE SURROUNDINGS matter a LOT!

Nick is amazing and was designed just the way God had planned. So many people saw him as someone who would have to overcome immense difficulties just to live a normal life, but Nick has such a heart for God that through his obstacles he was made strong, bold, and courageous.

I have to say, after finding out that Nick's driving force behind his will to live was Christianity, I was rather disappointed. I was so hoping to hear him talk about the strength and resilience of the human spirit without the need for a supernatural deity. I am thankful beyond words for this and all of Nick's videos. I just found them, and know I was supposed to at this time. Not only do I have disabilities, but my husband of 25 years said he wanted to to live for himself and divorced me on Valentines Day. An unexpected illness 7yrs ago gave me disabilities. In my sadness and grief, I found these videos. They have inspired me to go on inspite of the sadness and difficulties. I am completely dependent upon God.I CAN do all things through Christ!

How can you understand what an alcoholic goes throught if you've never drank alcohol? How can you understand what a homeless person goes through if you've never been flat ass broke...you see where I am going with this? :) he's had a hard life and survived, so he can tell others how he survived and how others can too

He has done something that probably 99/100 people in his position cannot, and thus it is something he can be proud about. He has never implied that his life IS better than yours or mine, but he only tried to help/inspire those that want to give up and show them "hey i have no arms no legs and I am fine, if you don't give up you will be fine too"

@bbbbbb222222 I can see where you are going with you opinion. I've seen cripples take advantage of people goodwill and sympathy. They think ''Since I am disabled, EVERYONE should help me'' But I don't think this is whats going on here, I have seen people with no legs or no arms lying on the streets begging for money because thats all they can do, beg for help. But with Nick, he has so much willpower and confidence to get his ass up and do something about his life even when it seems hopeless.

I am thankful beyond words for this and all of Nick's videos. I just found them, and know I was supposed to at this time. Not only do I have disabilities, but my husband of 25 years said he wanted to to live for himself and divorced me on Valentines Day. An unexpected illness 7yrs ago gave me disabilities. In my sadness and grief, I found these videos. They have inspired me to go on inspite of the sadness and difficulties. I am completely dependent upon God.I CAN do all things through Christ!

You need nothing and no one to exist. This has been promised to you. Christ did great things but, the bible left out a couple things. @bbbbbb222222 It is not the fact that he is disabled that people like him, it is the fact how he handles it and how that he accomplished in his life that make him special. He is also special because someone with DISABILITIES can be more inspiring to people than someone else.
The fact that he shares there can be more to life, and to not let yourself get down.
