Macintosh looks great. Well, Pre OSX didn't look very good compared to today's OSs. There is an ecosystem. Apple has had recommended software on their site for years allowing us to have trusted software sources. Details. Little details are taken into account for. I don't worry about security. Darwin has stood very solid/secure. The Apple store's support is great no matter where you bought your mac. So it's not one thing that PC users attack. It's many small details here and there.
For me, its waking up in the morning and knowing that I can say with a 100% certainty that it will not crash, have a not responding error, and I think that is important because right now my Mac is the only computer in my house, which I am completely dependent on. If my computer goes down, I am screwed, I go to online school, no computer, no school, fail.
I dunno what it is about Apple, but I just feel a "warmth" and love you just do tget from PC. I feel the same about SONyas opposed to Microsoft; it's why I prefer the companies; they seem to genuinely care about the consumer :)
personally I don't feel the "warmth" in PC shops, that I do feel in Apple reselling stores. What I mean by that is that I really feel like Microsoft and everyone having to do with Winsows and PCs do what they do 100% for the sake of making money. When I enter an Apple reseller though, I really feel that those people, as well as Apple itself, really care about the user and it's computer experience.
PC sellers are often way more boring than mac sellers.
@Robbinski14 Apple retail staff also don't try and make you buy a load of extra crap you don't want. You go in, choose what you want, the staff member asks you a few questions like "what do you plan to use it for?" then tell you if it's up to the task or not. I've often seen Apple Store staff tell people they don't need the power the model they chose has and recommend a lower cheaper model, I've also seen them recommend PC's to people instead. You just don't get the same pressure to buy lol.
"magic" is a term that fanbois resort to when there is no quantifiable logic behind their decision process. people like to be right, and they can often form emotional allegiances not so much based on the product in a vacuum but due to negative experiences with other brands or even just a desire to justify the "think different" Apple culture.
Think of it in terms of others that have pulled this off, such as the "magic" surrounding Harley Davidson versus arguably technically superior Jap bikes.
The Magic of Mac comes from the elitist persona they have pushed as their main marketing theme. I would compare it to the same experience you get between say a Honda and Lexus. They are both cars, made from most of the same technology and parts, but they would have you believe you are better if you buy one over the other. Yes a Lexus may have better leather or finishes, but at the core the Lexus is just a prettier Toyota. Mac cares about the way the look, Windows just wants to get the job done.
@ScottFaunce I partially agree. But my Mac experience has been that, on contrary to your saying, Macs are able to get the job done AND look pretty doing it. From very simple GUI for producing whatever (for me its music, which I take VERY seriously), to the outward appearance being extremely attractive, to the day to day stability of my Macbook pro. My PC laptop simply could not handle the tasks I needed to perform without using 3 programs; on my Mac, Logic 9 handles it all BEAUTIFULLY in one.
@RNRDOLL Oh I agree MACS are great in what they do.. and yes they look great doing it.. as I kinda said in my previous statement. A Lexus and a Toyota are both cars, but the Lexus gives it's users something a little more than the Toyota can provide. Better handling, accommodations, sound, etc.. , but what the point I was trying to make was to some that is not what they look for in a car.. they just want it to get from point A to point B...Non-Mac users aren't wrong they just don't know ;-)
@ScottFaunce Find me a windows computer that can satisfy most or all of my needs as a recording/performing musician, out of the box and preloaded. You can't.
the magic of mac: is the total experience of mac... from buying it in a 'real' retail store, bring it home, the unboxing, the process of setting it up, and using it on a daily useage... for me its the total experience of mac 'it just works like it should'... at least from my part....
@maxvandewiele Same for me. Its very true..it just works. There's a video where Steve Jobs compares the 6 button remote to the 43-45 button windows remotes and equates it to the success and ideology of Mac. Simplicity, functionality and cleanliness basically. Windows 7 is a decent OS, but its bogged down by tons of clutter, bloatware out of the box, and specifically my case...NO programs for my music creation. In a Mac..you get a powerful, fluid program with it. Mac understands real needs.
I think there is much more magic to actually building a custom built PC to a Mac. As someone said earlier, Macs serve as a unified solution to the average end user. For people who know a bit more about computers, obviously a Mac wouldn't be for them. The way Apple works is that they try to do everything for you, which is quite a clever marketing scheme. You need Apple certified parts in order to just upgrade a battery or RAM. With a PC, just order great warranted parts for cheap off of Newegg.
@Aloyalgamer Bull, Macs cater to a guy like me who need a very unified experience. Out of 6 windows laptops, not one comes with a decent software for creating music in a pro way. In a Mac you get garageband which is QUITE capable of using professionally. The people I know who have bought a Mac (me included) have done so because they knew they were getting a machine that handled specialized tasks better. Every Mac user I know would say the same thing.
@RNRDOLL I have a Macbook Pro and I say Garageband sucks, it's about as good as Audacity. If I do give it some credit it would go to the much more "pleasant" interface that it has over audacity, but other than that Garageband is FAR from a professional app, you've got to be kidding me, I'm seriously laughing at your comment because you have no idea what you're talking about.
-Sony Acid, Adobe Soundbooth, and Pro Tools are all much better than Garageband and can be used on PC.
magical. i loved the experience of going to the apple store and experiencing a new great platform that is just fun to use. i almost couldnt believe it was real. i couldnt believe that i was getting one. i love macs
and that's why the only mac I use is the one i'm forced to work with in my department at work.
to me, the most remarkable thing about Apple in part or whole, is their marketing. They have outstanding marketers for their competitive, not best, products and succeeded IMO, by driving at an angle that is unusual for the computer and electronics market.
Can't say the same for their engineers though, wonder what's a ACMT worth? that's right, keep wondering.
this video should be called "the magic of apple Marketing" instead.
From personal experience, I know more women that own macbooks than guys.
As someone who knows slightly more than an average user, I treasure true processing power more than anything else - I can spend an entire week running a battery of changes in BIOS and running 3D/PC Mark after that to determine the maximum stable setting possible. And I would switch my desktop to windows classic if it saves me a byte of memory.
My Mac experience has been nothing but MISERABLE in the 20 years I have used then in the Graphics Industry, calculated at roughly 39,000 hours. I loathe them. The list of my hates is far too long to list here. BAH!
For me it's the whole experience of using a Mac. I absolutely love the OS. It's fast, filled with great features such as Exposé and Dashboard, and is very easy to use. Not to mention the design of my 15 inch unibody Macbook Pro is simply unparalleled. I could buy a laptop simply based on its specs, but when I can get power + design + easy of use + great customer support + features + fantastic OS, I can't help but go with the Magic of a Mac.
Here's the magic of the mac to me. I've been a PC user since the 3.1 days. Now I'm not going to lampoon windows. I like windows. Specially Windows 7 it is the best windows ever. I have my first mac it is a 27" imac The magic to me is it just works. And works fine.
The P in PC stands for Personal. If you work with something for a significant portion of your day, then the little details become big details.
I took the trouble to go to an Apple Store to try out the Magic Mouse before buying it. I did this because the mouse was entirely different from any previous pointing gadget I had ever used. Apple had to sell me this thing.
Using it and adjusting its settings revealed to me that this was the best mouse I had ever touched. Those little things do matter.
I just love the computer as well, they just generally look better externally. I love the way they look, the OS X is just more efficient. I'm not a lazy computer user nor am I not very advanced, but I feel like I'm using the computer more instead of fixing problems and emptying my virus vault in AVG.
Mac have great design, but I think that there are so much of great design on the PC side, but you have to search for it, and set it for yourself. Mac/Apple is focusing on "console" based look of PC experience. Just unpack and use. That is the so called magic. You'll have the same experience if you buy a XBOX or PS or Wii. Just plug it in and play. Windows 7 + Windows Live + Security Essentials + automatic driver update, and whole Windows update is made MS closer to that magic of Mac.
I think the magic of mac may come from the fact that u cant get a computer not made by apple running mac os x. the computer itself and the os are perfect 2gether and u wont get errors like "Wrong drivers" or any kind of things like that. when u get a pc, u need to download drivers, on a mac u dont because all macs r alike. also, when u c a mac in the store, it has a REALLY beautiful monitor and so many beautiful colors that just take ur breath away. it also might b how its really thin.
IMO the only thing that might have something close to "magic" in the pc world, is the sony vaio, which already has a brand name. But even that is not remotely close to the experience of purchasing a mac and unpacking it.
I think Mac offers their costumers a unified solution of both body (hardware) and soul (software). That is more coherent and makes more sense. Once people get it, they feel more strongly about it than customers who purchase a Dell with Windows on it. Which continuing with the analogy would be like one body and two souls. Or one body with a soul with nothing special in the sense that is meant for anybody else.
Offering both body and soul is a great part of the magic of Mac.
to me buying a mac would be exactly the same as buying a computer with windows or linux on it, except I would be paying alot more and be getting something I don't like.
Alienware computers are amazing to open and expirirnce the amazing quality of unboxing and just looking at. It gives me a wierd fealing whenever i use it.
id love to have a mac book for my homeworks and a custom build for other stuff like gaming ,video converting and data storage like 2TB or summat ,, , unix + windows = <3
They sell themini i-mac which is actually close to the macbook laptops because it is made the same as a laptop, I think a mini i-mac would suit you especially since it has wireless internet.
Everyone wants a Macbook and there very quick to pass up a desktop.
I'd say that in my opinion no OEM provides a sense of "magic" like Apple does.
To me, especially after visiting Sony Style retail stores, the most magic I've seen from another OEM has been from Sony. However, it's not nearly on the same level.
For example, most in-store demo PCs aren't connected to the internet. The Xperia Windows Mobile devices and eBook readers that Sony sells aren't even available for demo. This, with $250-$800 price tags. Unbelievable!
My first PC was a Sony Laptop that was like 5 years now and i still have it and it works great, that said, i was neeeever happy in a sense that i was alway looking to do changes in the interface, looks with blinds and themes and the lack of just "magic" and I'm not talking about some generic PC like a DELL it was a Sony! very well built lovely glossy screen everything seems like it should there but still... i wasn't happy.
Then i got this las christmas a iMac and DAMN!!!! what a diffence!! :)
Safari, system preferences, expose, spaces, FORCE QUIT! because i can never close a windows program without it not responding, the dock, applications, bootcamp, parallels, finder, time machine, widgets, and how elegantly it all looks and the simplicity of it all
@dexarouskies Exactly, shiny stuff sells. Just like sex. I don't mind the Mac OS. Looks nice, maybe not as diverse as i like it but definetly shiny. Then again there's skins for Win7
well if i was going to "buy" a pc i would definitely buy a sony just because of the reliability of there products, ive still have a 18inch moniter from sony i got 5 years ago and a outdated laptop 4 years old that still works wonderfully, i guess thats the "Magic" factor for me knowing ill get a good, Reliable , product, that will last me years
For me it's Logic Pro combined with the stability of OS X.
In the case of the creative thinking over I.T. the Macintosh wins. If your a scientist, mathematician, artist or musician you will be hard pushed to find a more appropriate platform.
Charlotte Mecklenburg School System here in North Carolina discontinued the purchasing of Apple computers years ago. Most of this was due to the ignorance of the support technicians hired by the school system. They just retired (2008) the last of their LC III's! This longevity crushes the school system technician's claims that the Apple products were not as cost effective. Far more PC's are rendered useless for longer amounts of time than Macs are. Now the trolls here can have their way with me!
I don't find it ironic at all. I would not find it ironic if someone worked for microsoft and used a macbook pro running windows in bootcamp. if an employee recommended Mac Osx during a technical support call I would call it Ironic.
I would call Microsoft Employees buying and using Apple products instead of MS Zunes and Smartphones with Windows Mobile a very clear and good recommendation!
I am not a well organised person. But with a Mac, you don't need to be. The mac environment, and everything that's being developed for Mac, just makes the most complex things..... easy. Which leaves my head clear so i can be creative. And that's why so many creative professionals choose Mac! is it better ? Definitely.
Is it more stable? Definitely. But most importantly: it's organised. Impossible to get your stuff cluttered!
I've been using Mac since 1987 (MacII). It was the first dektop computer that could be used as a professional publishing machine . Mac was in those days a trendsetter.
Today, 2009, it's a bit harder to pinpoint why i prefer a Mac. for about a year and a half i switched to PC, and regretted every second of it. After about a year i threw my PC in the bin and got me a heavily equipped Pro. That's about three years and a half ago and it's been sheer heaven.
Magic of a mac? To me they are just computers. The real magic to me is getting a new piece of technology, firing it up & mavelling at the power. To see just how advanced things have become & how relatively inexpensive it is these days sometimes completely blows my mind.
I think you feel that magic when you buy / unbox your first notebook, either mac or pc, but i think that the magic with a mac is extended to the daily usage (with the OS X), and with the windows the magic is gone quickly with its usage (if not with the first minutes where you find a lot of bundle applications included by the OEM). The magic also disappears when you notice that the hardware is cheap / low quality.
I can still feel the magic of my custom build desktop, beats any oem at "magic" to me. the mac gets old quick once you start to have problems in leopard, and it slows down to a snail from to much usage. my laptop came with bundled applications and it was still fast, it came with essential applications, no trial software.
There's nothing slow about a Mac. Problems in Leopard? Uh, no. You want problems, buy a PC. My Mac runs as fast as the day i bought.. even with all I've added. I can export 1GB videos while surfing the Internet, doing video chat and listening to music with no lag. I don't know where you got your information, but.. wrong.
My personal experience has shown that leopard is a bloaty operating system. I don't think my mac runs as fast the same day I bought it. it use to boot in 25 seconds, now it takes over a minute and half. I have a PPC mac, a PPC mac can not handle that unless you have a g5. and experience with intel macs, they where faster but not a very stable experience with applications. I don't want to use an operating system that can crash apps in 30 minutes. Never happened in my experience of windows.
If you're saying you like your PC more than your Mac, congrats on being the first I've ever heard/seen say that. Maybe you got a rare, bad Mac.. but I've never had any problems what so ever out of my Mac. No major crashing, no slow boot times.. nothing.
in some ways I prefer it, but it worked as advertised I would like it more, but it seems it probably was a lie. it does not get kernel panics any longer because tiger was installed again, but still unstable with applications. I heard intel macs are much better, but everytime I used one it ended up crashing. I have no idea what I do, but I can crash macs easily. no I did not use the fsck tool on the primary active partition. I just do what an average user would do, and it crashes.
What Mac do you have? If you bought it new, did you contact Apple or ask to trade it in for a new one? They're usually REALLY good with support and letting you trade in if it messes up at all.
its six years old the warranty is useless now, and I am not going to buy 100$ for a new cd drive. I decided not to touch it again, so then I will not be frustrated by it. I am fine with my ten year old Pc, and am setting up my 5 year old pc as a linux box. my main machine is 3 years old and still kicking with no hardware failures.
I am surprised to find being able to use my Mac normally (without any performance lag) to the full capacity of my 120GB HDD. My windows machines reach 75% disk usage and the whole systems slows down :D
hmm i think that its just a matter of personal preference.. Well heres an example based on linux.. if you start using linux with Gnome on top if it it will be very hard to move to KDE after like erm 1 year ( or XFCe) i think it is same with Mac's Windowses Linuxes and BSd's
I own an Alienware M17 laptop... So yes PC's can have 'magic' too, I chose Alienware for the combination of internals + the magic of the brand/product (not to mention its a laptop that you can actually upgrade...)
the "experience of buying a Mac" ? I'm confused...Is like when you are looking for a new car or home? When you get excited when the deal is done. The happiness of buying it makes you want to get up early to use it the first day you own it? Why would PC be any different? Do people think that PC users go into Bestbuy, or order parts from NE, and go "it's just another day" - NO, buying a computer is FUN, no matter what OEM or custom build, it's FUNre-post from gareth's vid Why doesn't any1 answer?
I have a MacBook Air and it's the first new pc I have ever bought, I bought it online from apple because at the time it was not possible to pick up one from the apple store that had the ssd drive. I have also bought 2 sony laptops one for my mom and one for my grandmother. They both love their sony laptops they were purchased from BestBuy but I suppose I could have gone to the sony store. I don't think I lost out in the experience though as I still enjoyed ordering my mac. Cheers
just have the mac for my magic happengot apple 2 eform 2 the mac g3 and g5 just good reel look cool and just works bye new print put in my just work no look divers plug in and go
when i bought my first mac a few months ago i remember being fairly excited about the whole unboxing/pretty and solid hardware experience... BUT the true magic came when i started working my way through the software!!! This is where things get heaven like for me <--- OS freak ;) I remember having the same feeling back in the days when i first tried XP :)
The magic for me is that I have an Imac G5 from 2006 and a white macbook, and they are running just as fast as they did the day i took them out of the box. The Mac is the best computer that I have ever owned and used.
First, If I had to go with an OEM, it would be Apple.
BUT,
My version of "magic" isn't going into a store and walking out with a box, unpack, plug in and go.
"Magic" to me is researching parts for weeks, and then the parts show up, and I get the pleasure of building my PERSONAL computer. Not what an OEM thinks I would buy, it's exactly what I wanted. Ram LAT, for example is never shown by the OEM's.
I've seen your videos, you don't know anything about computers bud, sorry for breaking it to you .....LOL just kidding you know you don't know shit, it's no surprise to you.
"Why can't I get movie maker to work on a virtual machine" LOL that still makes me laugh
"Why can't I get movie maker to work on a virtual machine" LOL that still makes me laugh - ThingsontheWeb
lol yeah I did chuckle about that and then told him why it doesn't work. People don't always know this stuff that DirectX is needed for Movie Maker and as we all know every Virtual Machine doesn't support it.
unfortunately we didn't have an apple store in modesto when i bought my mac they were bearly building it so i went to best buy and just walking out of the store with the huge mac and people were looking and turning heads was awesome..
The magic of mac, Its the "Design" of the hardware that goes with the look/design of the OSX software visually. When I put MS Window on bootcamp it really looks out of place it does not look like it belong to that system. I don't know how Apple does it but the way the physical hardware seem to co exist with its Mac OSX software.
As a Mac owner I feel that the experience of purchasing a an OS X machine cannot be trumped by any other OEM. While I personally will always buy computers from Apple, I can still understand the logic behind licensing out OS X and, in the end, believe it would be healthy for Apple.
With the recent Apple ads, they've proven the point that software rules over hardware. Sure you can get more power and hardware cheaper for PCs, but it still runs windows and still gets viruses. Macs run much better software OS. That was the whole point of the newest Mac ads.
I own a Mac, have used Mac OS X for over a year now. It's that I believe the ads, it's that the ads are true. I had an IBM, a Compaq, and a Dell PC before switching to Mac, I was a PC user for years from 1997 to 2008 before switching to Mac. All 3 of those PCs gave me a BSOD, I base what I say on experience, not on ads, I was just saying that the ads are true based upon my own experience. I don't speak out my ass and not back it up, I back myself up. Now, who's the tool?
You keep arguing that PCs are better, and in a way, they are. You get more power, a faster processor, more ram, better GPU, for less money, but my small argument is Mac OS is better to use for various reasons than Windows OS.
I agree, other vendors do not possess this sort of "magic" to their product line. When I got the Sony external dvd burner I was happy to have it for the need it fills. When I get any apple product such as AppleTV I was pretty excited aside from what it could do. The packaging, the interface - all of it just feels different.
You didn't really mention laptops. For me, even if OS X was set free, I'd still purchase apple laptops. The sleekness, features, batery life, appearance, they are simply unmatched. The newest Dell that is inspired by Macbooks is quite nice, but the price is the same, so.
When it comes to desktops, man, I would love to build a MAC, or even, simply install OS X server on the machine I custom built for Windows Home Server. There's no magic beyond the software for me, outside of laptops anyway.
I went with BOXX because they offered power, quality, and tech support for more than just hardware. If im not mistaken, they were the company that came in after SGI.
Theres nothing wrong with a MAC, but Apple just didnt offer what I wanted.
I think if a system is going to have "magic" as you have said, it will only be on a system that works seamlessly with your workflow.
I've had my system for 3 and a half years and my system still feels like my creation in a sense. And of course I got what I wanted in it. My system has never had any problems and still has all the original parts in it. It'll be a sad day when it's time to retire it, but that won't happen for another two years or so. My point is, you don't get the same experience when you buy a computer as apposed to building it yourself.
Very cool. With me though, I'd have to say that the Mac experience was good but there isn't any experience better than gathering up a bunch of computer components and building your own computer from the ground up. You feel like Dr. Frankenstien when you finally put it all to gether and load up the OS on it and then boot it up for the first time. You just don't get that with Dell,HP, Gateway, or even a Mac.
I had a friend that wanted that whole experience. We went to the Apple store and took pictures while he was buying the Mac mini because for him it's no different buying your first bike or car. It's not just a computer but THE computer. Something that has to be set aside from PCs entirely.
As a pc user, I think what gives Apple an edge is the "fit and finish" aspect. Their hardware designs are minimalist but classy, and they feel right when you touch them (similar to a good power tool having some heft when you hold it). Their apps are good, especially iMovie. At the end of the day, Mac's and PC's do the same thing, but I will probably never go Mac due to initial cost, poor upgrade choices, and lack of game support. But, to each his own
the whole feeling of a mac is better. When using a windows pc, I feel like the computer has to work a ton and I am straining it. But when using a Mac, it feels more pristine and seamless.
the PC side also has magic but it doesn't come when you buy it off Dell or any OEM it comes when you custom build your pc. you can be working on it all day and at the end when you finally hear that post sound you feel accomplishment inside.
EXACTLY! All my problems ranging from braking cases, overheating, ADOBE ISSUES, EVERYTHING ONLY on my HP. My first HP also sucked and this one is reasonably new. I just finished building my first custom build, the mobo came faulty (actually turns out it's a bug with the model, not a big one though, still works fine) and my asus wifi card clashes with my nvidia drivers (getting a new wifi card.) I must agree, it's SUPER fast and runs REALLY well, just a stupid ASUS error TBH.
I think the true magic of the Mac is the high quality hardware and attention to detail combined with the best OS money can buy. Its a hard combination to beat.
For the longest time after buying my Mac I would feel like there was something I should be doing: Updating my antivirus? No, wait, I don't need any. Installing drivers? No it does that for me. hmm, maybe a defrag? No. I come from a windows background and it was actually hard to just relax and enjoy a computer that just worked.
Well I come from a windows background too and I've always and still do enjoy my computer. I run all the OS's. I have a macbook pro that me and my brother use. And my desktop that I built has Ubuntu and Windows. My Windows runs fine defrags aren't an issue very much cuz I don't write to much to my c: drive. And my AV updates on it's own. Maybe you didn't know how to run windows very well then, because people that have issues with their windows usually don't have an AV, or don't set it to update.
I never had to worry about AV's or defrags on my mac, which is cool, but i've still had problems with updates jacking up my superdrive. And with the drivers thing, you don't have to worry about those on a Mac or even an HP, Dell, or other computer that you buy at a store because thay are already pre-loaded. When you build a computer like I did, then you have to install them, but they aren't hard to do. Most of them you just put the driver disc in and run it.
The magic of mac is that its better than Windows Millenium Edition. It was a good alternative from Windows M.E. I did not get xp until late 2004. after I got windows xp, I will never go on my mac again. The reason why most become fanboys because they got a much computer than what they had before. after you get a superior computer it really does not matter what operating system you have because they are both good except Windows M.E.
I didn't comment on your "set os x free" videos because I didn't know how to explain what I was thinking. I think you started this vid off with what was going through my head as far as that, I agree I enjoy the "whole" package with how Apple sells their products and would like to see OS X stay inside their products, BUT, I do agree that if set free, it very well could open up the door to a whole new world of companies(software, hardware, etc,,,,,) to create products for the systems.
lol the idea of this video, is something i was about to express in a video in the future. I also agree with all these little details, that make the mac the mac, buying from the apple store, the packaging, the feeling of having a diff system, etc etc. everything youve said in this video mr.bit. but if u have seen my arguements for not letting osx free, i TRY NOT TO use these little details, because i dont think these little details is a good enough arguement. nice vid, spot on once again !
The magic of Mac for me is the community around Apple and the Macintosh. The blogs, the podcasts, the youtubers - all dedicated to the mac. Giving tips, recommending stuff and helping out. And it's just a couple of seconds away on the internet.
I worked with PC's for many many years, before i switched over to the Mac, and i must say, i've never felt some kind of magic feeling when buying a dull PC in a dull box. For some reason the whole Mac experience is something special. PC manufacturers don't try to give the customer some magic feeling while Apple does. And it works, the combination of nice design and nice software (OS X) is great, and that's one more reason not to set OS X free.
I don't have like an emotional attachment to a computer. I do though build my own computers because most OEM's suck for desktops. The only thing I do have some emotional attachment to is my old 1971 Chevelle 402. I was not happy when a tree fell on the trunk of it.
I honestly think people that like the mac experience are people who have less technical knowledge of how computers work. They enjoy that they don't have to perform any real maintenance of the software in terms of updates for antivirus, drivers etc. These users typically just understand the basics of computer web browing, email , word documents etc. Some people claim the hardware is better. I tend to disagree though. Anyway that's just my opinion. I've used a os x and don't like it.
The thing is you shouldn't have to maintain things all the time. How about letting the operating system handle that and then doing some actual work instead.
Completely true masterm1k3. Windows is usable but you need knowledge, and some people don't have that knowledge, or just don't wanna get into all that stuff like defragmenting your HD etc.
When using a Mac, it just works. No extra knowledge required. A magic feeling indeed.
I agree and disagree. The it just works routine for me is just lame windows works just fine - osx crashes just like windows not as often but it does especially if you really use it heavily - most mac users today do not do allot of video or design work they are just users they hardly push their systems. There is definitely less work for a mac, windows should adopt a better update system but most things you own need maintenance regardless of what it is. I love the Apple experience bar none.
It's 2009, dude. Windows has automatic updates, Vista and 7 defragment your hard drive on a scheduled basis, and software is easy as hell to install (what's hard about clicking Next?)
Please don't use that "high maintenance" argument, it simply doesn't apply anymore.
I disagree about the ''smaller'' knowledge of Mac users. Besides, it is better if the computer works for you, not you working for computer (like some IT staff)
No you miss understand, I'm not saying because I have a PC I'm smarter than you or anything. I'm generalising, and saying people that have less computer knowledge would prefer to use the mac because they encounter less driver related problems etc. This is why they probably enjoy the mac experience more than windows.
Well, the knowledge is only relevant to the system you use. Just because people owning Mac do not need to search for drivers doesn't mean they have less of a knowledge, they have less of a troubles with maintenance. Windows shall be less of fixing and more of doing things. (If you want to drive a car you buy a car which works, not one, you will be fixing every week) MAC or WINDOWS or LINUX, just your taste of choice.
I used to build my own PCs for gaming so knowledge of how things work is not it (for me), and apparently not for mrbit since he's about as knowledgeable as they come. I have since ridded my house of all PCs and now have 3 macs. For a few reasons, aesthetics, more time to do what I want to do and less time wasted on the constant maintenance that is part of the windows experience, and knowing that apple's support system actually works should I need it.
As I said to kyutomusu I am not saying PC users are smarter than mac users. I'm generalising, and saying people that have less computer knowledge would prefer to use the mac because they encounter less driver related problems, malware etc. This is why they probably enjoy the mac experience more than windows. However I completely disagree about apples support, any major pc hardware vendor offers good support and there is far much more support for windows software than software on OS X.
Well I have no personal experience with HP or Dell as I custom build my PC's. However just a short while ago I upgraded the BIOS on my P5K-E WIFI AP and it corrupted the cmos. Resetting it wouldn't fix it so I emailed Asus and they fixed it and sent it back to me within 2 weeks. This good considering my friends brand new mac book pro took over a month to replace a faulty logic board.
i wouldnt say that id say windows users would be that because they are afraid to learn something new i have never thought macs are "easier" to use just "different" to use I'm mac linux user i despise windows because of DLL hell
Fair enough, and I agree in general users of Windows like what they already are use to and are unlikely to change operating systems (Users not willing to move on from XP to Vista is a prime example of this). I have tried OS X, and am currently dual booting Vista and Ubuntu 9.04. BTW, I know your a mac / linux user because I subscribe to your channel, lol.
I disagree with the less technical knowledge, I have seen a lot of computer science students begin to use OS X and I am sure that they know far more than most Windows "power users" and they do enjoy the Mac experience. Yes I do hang out in the computer science group a lot more but my point stands that you don't need a lack of knowledge in order to enjoy Mac.
I wish I could delete that comment I made now. I was just generalising because most people who use computers have very little idea of what they are doing. Thing is I was actually complementing Mac in say it is easy to use and has pretty much no malware. People get screwed over by viruses and crap etc in windows because they have no idea what they are doing. For general users in my opinion linux is just not user friendly enough. That's why people prefer os x over linux.
I think it is fine that people use computers have very little idea of what they are doing, that's the whole point of computers, no one knows everything there is to know of. I invent some very smart things and implement it in software and the rest of the world can use it without being an expert in my field. I wouldn't say Linux isn't user friendly neither, they are just picky about their friends.
By the way I think in general people that call themselves power users are quite stupid too. They think they are smart or something because they have downloaded a whole lot of torrents and have a shitload of programs they have little knowledge of. With any OS it takes a lot of experience to maximise your efficiency in my opinion.
A lot of power users are pretty stupid but there are few smart one's as well... some people just want to focus on what they are interested in rather than the computer... but anyway the people I was talking about are like software engineers, kernel hackers, etc... so of course they know a bit more than any power users. ;)
I like the support a lot, they were always nice and fair to me (i do not like calling to support, prefer going to Apple Store for that). Of course you can always end up talking to some ass, that happens :)

So you say, that clever marketing contributes to a classy Premium feel of their products right?
But you realize that it won't change the products technically, hence you know that these systems are rip-offs.
mozdonny 8 months ago
For me, its waking up in the morning and knowing that I can say with a 100% certainty that it will not crash, have a not responding error, and I think that is important because right now my Mac is the only computer in my house, which I am completely dependent on. If my computer goes down, I am screwed, I go to online school, no computer, no school, fail.

I dunno what it is about Apple, but I just feel a "warmth" and love you just do tget from PC. I feel the same about SONyas opposed to Microsoft; it's why I prefer the companies; they seem to genuinely care about the consumer :)
AlexBaldwinFTW 1 year ago
personally I don't feel the "warmth" in PC shops, that I do feel in Apple reselling stores.
Robbinski14 1 year ago 4

DumbDuck44 1 year ago
The Magic of Mac comes from the elitist persona they have pushed as their main marketing theme. I would compare it to the same experience you get between say a Honda and Lexus. They are both cars, made from most of the same technology and parts, but they would have you believe you are better if you buy one over the other. Yes a Lexus may have better leather or finishes, but at the core the Lexus is just a prettier Toyota. Mac cares about the way the look, Windows just wants to get the job done.
ScottFaunce 1 year ago
@ScottFaunce I partially agree. But my Mac experience has been that, on contrary to your saying, Macs are able to get the job done AND look pretty doing it. From very simple GUI for producing whatever (for me its music, which I take VERY seriously), to the outward appearance being extremely attractive, to the day to day stability of my Macbook pro. My PC laptop simply could not handle the tasks I needed to perform without using 3 programs; on my Mac, Logic 9 handles it all BEAUTIFULLY in one.
RNRDOLL 1 year ago
@RNRDOLL Oh I agree MACS are great in what they do.. and yes they look great doing it.. as I kinda said in my previous statement. A Lexus and a Toyota are both cars, but the Lexus gives it's users something a little more than the Toyota can provide. Better handling, accommodations, sound, etc.. , but what the point I was trying to make was to some that is not what they look for in a car.. they just want it to get from point A to point B...Non-Mac users aren't wrong they just don't know ;-)

the magic of mac: is the total experience of mac... from buying it in a 'real' retail store, bring it home, the unboxing, the process of setting it up, and using it on a daily useage... for me its the total experience of mac 'it just works like it should'... at least from my part....
maxvandewiele 1 year ago
@maxvandewiele Same for me. Its very true..it just works. There's a video where Steve Jobs compares the 6 button remote to the 43-45 button windows remotes and equates it to the success and ideology of Mac. Simplicity, functionality and cleanliness basically. Windows 7 is a decent OS, but its bogged down by tons of clutter, bloatware out of the box, and specifically my case...NO programs for my music creation. In a Mac..you get a powerful, fluid program with it. Mac understands real needs.
RNRDOLL 1 year ago
I think there is much more magic to actually building a custom built PC to a Mac. As someone said earlier, Macs serve as a unified solution to the average end user. For people who know a bit more about computers, obviously a Mac wouldn't be for them. The way Apple works is that they try to do everything for you, which is quite a clever marketing scheme. You need Apple certified parts in order to just upgrade a battery or RAM. With a PC, just order great warranted parts for cheap off of Newegg.
Aloyalgamer 1 year ago
@Aloyalgamer Bull, Macs cater to a guy like me who need a very unified experience. Out of 6 windows laptops, not one comes with a decent software for creating music in a pro way. In a Mac you get garageband which is QUITE capable of using professionally. The people I know who have bought a Mac (me included) have done so because they knew they were getting a machine that handled specialized tasks better. Every Mac user I know would say the same thing.
RNRDOLL 1 year ago
@RNRDOLL I have a Macbook Pro and I say Garageband sucks, it's about as good as Audacity. If I do give it some credit it would go to the much more "pleasant" interface that it has over audacity, but other than that Garageband is FAR from a professional app, you've got to be kidding me, I'm seriously laughing at your comment because you have no idea what you're talking about.
-Sony Acid, Adobe Soundbooth, and Pro Tools are all much better than Garageband and can be used on PC.

to me, the most remarkable thing about Apple in part or whole, is their marketing. They have outstanding marketers for their competitive, not best, products and succeeded IMO, by driving at an angle that is unusual for the computer and electronics market.
Can't say the same for their engineers though, wonder what's a ACMT worth? that's right, keep wondering.

Hi mrbit10,
this video should be called "the magic of apple Marketing" instead.
ImperialArmour 2 years ago
My Mac experience has been nothing but MISERABLE in the 20 years I have used then in the Graphics Industry, calculated at roughly 39,000 hours. I loathe them. The list of my hates is far too long to list here. BAH!
fido139 2 years ago
For me it's the whole experience of using a Mac. I absolutely love the OS. It's fast, filled with great features such as Exposé and Dashboard, and is very easy to use. Not to mention the design of my 15 inch unibody Macbook Pro is simply unparalleled. I could buy a laptop simply based on its specs, but when I can get power + design + easy of use + great customer support + features + fantastic OS, I can't help but go with the Magic of a Mac.

I think the magic of mac may come from the fact that u cant get a computer not made by apple running mac os x. the computer itself and the os are perfect 2gether and u wont get errors like "Wrong drivers" or any kind of things like that. when u get a pc, u need to download drivers, on a mac u dont because all macs r alike. also, when u c a mac in the store, it has a REALLY beautiful monitor and so many beautiful colors that just take ur breath away. it also might b how its really thin.

michaelmckeever9 2 years ago
I think Mac offers their costumers a unified solution of both body (hardware) and soul (software). That is more coherent and makes more sense. Once people get it, they feel more strongly about it than customers who purchase a Dell with Windows on it. Which continuing with the analogy would be like one body and two souls. Or one body with a soul with nothing special in the sense that is meant for anybody else.
Offering both body and soul is a great part of the magic of Mac.

I find it funny that apple technical support engineers told my friend to use linux because it was superior to Osx.
funny I wonder if I called Microsoft would they tell me to get a Mac OSX or linux.
Oh the irony of Apple.
I know that one guy does not reflect apple as a whole I just find it funny that He would recommend Linux instead of Mac Osx as an employee.

I love Mac and wouldn't want anything else!

To see just how advanced things have become & how relatively inexpensive it is these days sometimes completely blows my mind.
codebean 2 years ago
I think you feel that magic when you buy / unbox your first notebook, either mac or pc, but i think that the magic with a mac is extended to the daily usage (with the OS X), and with the windows the magic is gone quickly with its usage (if not with the first minutes where you find a lot of bundle applications included by the OEM). The magic also disappears when you notice that the hardware is cheap / low quality.
jvlppm 2 years ago
I can still feel the magic of my custom build desktop, beats any oem at "magic" to me. the mac gets old quick once you start to have problems in leopard, and it slows down to a snail from to much usage. my laptop came with bundled applications and it was still fast, it came with essential applications, no trial software.
ASCII808 2 years ago
There's nothing slow about a Mac. Problems in Leopard? Uh, no. You want problems, buy a PC. My Mac runs as fast as the day i bought.. even with all I've added. I can export 1GB videos while surfing the Internet, doing video chat and listening to music with no lag. I don't know where you got your information, but.. wrong.
cockyjeremy 2 years ago
My personal experience has shown that leopard is a bloaty operating system. I don't think my mac runs as fast the same day I bought it. it use to boot in 25 seconds, now it takes over a minute and half. I have a PPC mac, a PPC mac can not handle that unless you have a g5. and experience with intel macs, they where faster but not a very stable experience with applications. I don't want to use an operating system that can crash apps in 30 minutes. Never happened in my experience of windows.
ASCII808 2 years ago
If you're saying you like your PC more than your Mac, congrats on being the first I've ever heard/seen say that. Maybe you got a rare, bad Mac.. but I've never had any problems what so ever out of my Mac. No major crashing, no slow boot times.. nothing.
cockyjeremy 2 years ago
in some ways I prefer it, but it worked as advertised I would like it more, but it seems it probably was a lie. it does not get kernel panics any longer because tiger was installed again, but still unstable with applications. I heard intel macs are much better, but everytime I used one it ended up crashing. I have no idea what I do, but I can crash macs easily. no I did not use the fsck tool on the primary active partition. I just do what an average user would do, and it crashes.
ASCII808 2 years ago
What Mac do you have? If you bought it new, did you contact Apple or ask to trade it in for a new one? They're usually REALLY good with support and letting you trade in if it messes up at all.

the "experience of buying a Mac" ? I'm confused...Is like when you are looking for a new car or home? When you get excited when the deal is done. The happiness of buying it makes you want to get up early to use it the first day you own it? Why would PC be any different? lol yeah I did chuckle about that and then told him why it doesn't work.

Vista and Win7 aren't so bad on my iMac since the glass fits in with one of Mac's design elements. However, XP and Ubuntu are fugly.

Someone in China, loves there Mac because no one else has a Mac. It gives him a little uniqueness in a PC World and it also makes him feel special.

As a Mac owner I feel that the experience of purchasing a an OS X machine cannot be trumped by any other OEM. While I personally will always buy computers from Apple, I can still understand the logic behind licensing out OS X and, in the end, believe it would be healthy for Apple.
chazybrewster 2 years ago
With the recent Apple ads, they've proven the point that software rules over hardware. Sure you can get more power and hardware cheaper for PCs, but it still runs windows and still gets viruses. Macs run much better software OS. That was the whole point of the newest Mac ads.
Dark4Vendetta 2 years ago
You believe those ads? You're such a tool.
I have never, ever had a virus.
thebsdguy 2 years ago
I own a Mac, have used Mac OS X for over a year now. It's that I believe the ads, it's that the ads are true. I had an IBM, a Compaq, and a Dell PC before switching to Mac, I was a PC user for years from 1997 to 2008 before switching to Mac. All 3 of those PCs gave me a BSOD, I base what I say on experience, not on ads, I was just saying that the ads are true based upon my own experience. I don't speak out my ass and not back it up, I back myself up. Now, who's the tool?
Dark4Vendetta 2 years ago
So you bought shitty PCs.

LetsPlayGmod 2 years ago
You keep arguing that PCs are better, and in a way, they are. You get more power, a faster processor, more ram, better GPU, for less money, but my small argument is Mac OS is better to use for various reasons than Windows OS.
Dark4Vendetta 2 years ago
they might not have powerful processors, GPUs, and ram but Macs utilize everything better

I agree, other vendors do not possess this sort of "magic" to their product line. When I got the Sony external dvd burner I was happy to have it for the need it fills. When I get any apple product such as AppleTV I was pretty excited aside from what it could do. The packaging, the interface - all of it just feels different.
endlessdream94 2 years ago

ShepperdOneill 2 years ago
You bought a BOXX for personal use?
thebsdguy 2 years ago
Not just personal use..... I work for a animation and post production studio. Thats the main reason why I have it.
ShepperdOneill 2 years ago
The magic is exactly that magic, know one knows why Macs have it, it feels better! Its the whole thing!
SlinkyStudio 2 years ago
I've had my system for 3 and a half years and my system still feels like my creation in a sense. And of course I got what I wanted in it. My system has never had any problems and still has all the original parts in it. It'll be a sad day when it's time to retire it, but that won't happen for another two years or so. My point is, you don't get the same experience when you buy a computer as apposed to building it yourself.
SourceZombie 2 years ago
SourceZombie 2 years ago
The opening line is blasphemy! :P
TheBlueHour 2 years ago
I had a friend that wanted that whole experience. We went to the Apple store and took pictures while he was buying the Mac mini because for him it's no different buying your first bike or car. It's not just a computer but THE computer. Something that has to be set aside from PCs entirely.
SunriseInTheMidwest 2 years ago
As a pc user, I think what gives Apple an edge is the "fit and finish" aspect. Their hardware designs are minimalist but classy, and they feel right when you touch them (similar to a good power tool having some heft when you hold it). Their apps are good, especially iMovie. At the end of the day, Mac's and PC's do the same thing, but I will probably never go Mac due to initial cost, poor upgrade choices, and lack of game support. But, to each his own
martinitime1975 2 years ago
the whole feeling of a mac is better. When using a windows pc, I feel like the computer has to work a ton and I am straining it. But when using a Mac, it feels more pristine and seamless.
celtic426 2 years ago
the PC side also has magic but it doesn't come when you buy it off Dell or any OEM it comes when you custom build your pc. you can be working on it all day and at the end when you finally hear that post sound you feel accomplishment inside.
UbuntuOwns2228 2 years ago 2
EXACTLY! All my problems ranging from braking cases, overheating, ADOBE ISSUES, EVERYTHING ONLY on my HP. My first HP also sucked and this one is reasonably new. I just finished building my first custom build, the mobo came faulty (actually turns out it's a bug with the model, not a big one though, still works fine) and my asus wifi card clashes with my nvidia drivers (getting a new wifi card.) I must agree, it's SUPER fast and runs REALLY well, just a stupid ASUS error TBH.
christheferal 2 years ago
I think the true magic of the Mac is the high quality hardware and attention to detail combined with the best OS money can buy. Its a hard combination to beat.
For the longest time after buying my Mac I would feel like there was something I should be doing: Updating my antivirus? No, wait, I don't need any. Installing drivers? No it does that for me. hmm, maybe a defrag? No. I come from a windows background and it was actually hard to just relax and enjoy a computer that just worked.
dragonballjiujitsu 2 years ago
Well I come from a windows background too and I've always and still do enjoy my computer. I run all the OS's. I have a macbook pro that me and my brother use. And my desktop that I built has Ubuntu and Windows. My Windows runs fine defrags aren't an issue very much cuz I don't write to much to my c: drive. And my AV updates on it's own. Maybe you didn't know how to run windows very well then, because people that have issues with their windows usually don't have an AV, or don't set it to update.
SourceZombie 2 years ago
I never had to worry about AV's or defrags on my mac, which is cool, but i've still had problems with updates jacking up my superdrive. And with the drivers thing, you don't have to worry about those on a Mac or even an HP, Dell, or other computer that you buy at a store because thay are already pre-loaded. When you build a computer like I did, then you have to install them, but they aren't hard to do. Most of them you just put the driver disc in and run it.

i can respond to this, i think i will. i have good stuff to say.

Great built machines & love the software that it has & comes with. That to me is the true magic. Just my honest opinion.

DRBUK 2 years ago
The magic of Mac for me is the community around Apple and the Macintosh. The blogs, the podcasts, the youtubers - all dedicated to the mac. Giving tips, recommending stuff and helping out. And it's just a couple of seconds away on the internet.
masterm1k3 2 years ago
I worked with PC's for many many years, before i switched over to the Mac, and i must say, i've never felt some kind of magic feeling when buying a dull PC in a dull box. For some reason the whole Mac experience is something special. PC manufacturers don't try to give the customer some magic feeling while Apple does. And it works, the combination of nice design and nice software (OS X) is great, and that's one more reason not to set OS X free.
Anyway, nice video!

I don't have like an emotional attachment to a computer. I do though build my own computers because most OEM's suck for desktops. The only thing I do have some emotional attachment to is my old 1971 Chevelle 402. I was not happy when a tree fell on the trunk of it.
blacksteel25 2 years ago
I honestly think people that like the mac experience are people who have less technical knowledge of how computers work. They enjoy that they don't have to perform any real maintenance of the software in terms of updates for antivirus, drivers etc. These users typically just understand the basics of computer web browing, email , word documents etc. Some people claim the hardware is better. I tend to disagree though. Anyway that's just my opinion. I've used a os x and don't like it.
ljscott1990 2 years ago
The thing is you shouldn't have to maintain things all the time. How about letting the operating system handle that and then doing some actual work instead.
masterm1k3 2 years ago
Completely true masterm1k3. Windows is usable but you need knowledge, and some people don't have that knowledge, or just don't wanna get into all that stuff like defragmenting your HD etc.
When using a Mac, it just works. No extra knowledge required. A magic feeling indeed.
Sven88abc 2 years ago
I agree and disagree. The it just works routine for me is just lame windows works just fine - osx crashes just like windows not as often but it does especially if you really use it heavily - most mac users today do not do allot of video or design work they are just users they hardly push their systems. There is definitely less work for a mac, windows should adopt a better update system but most things you own need maintenance regardless of what it is. I love the Apple experience bar none.
IKLIPTIC 2 years ago
It's 2009, dude. Windows has automatic updates, Vista and 7 defragment your hard drive on a scheduled basis, and software is easy as hell to install (what's hard about clicking Next?)
Please don't use that "high maintenance" argument, it simply doesn't apply anymore.
thebsdguy 2 years ago 2
Ijscott1990
I disagree about the ''smaller'' knowledge of Mac users. Besides, it is better if the computer works for you, not you working for computer (like some IT staff)
kyutomusu 2 years ago
No you miss understand, I'm not saying because I have a PC I'm smarter than you or anything. I'm generalising, and saying people that have less computer knowledge would prefer to use the mac because they encounter less driver related problems etc. This is why they probably enjoy the mac experience more than windows.
ljscott1990 2 years ago
Well, the knowledge is only relevant to the system you use. Just because people owning Mac do not need to search for drivers doesn't mean they have less of a knowledge, they have less of a troubles with maintenance. Windows shall be less of fixing and more of doing things. (If you want to drive a car you buy a car which works, not one, you will be fixing every week) MAC or WINDOWS or LINUX, just your taste of choice.
kyutomusu 2 years ago
I used to build my own PCs for gaming so knowledge of how things work is not it (for me), and apparently not for mrbit since he's about as knowledgeable as they come. I have since ridded my house of all PCs and now have 3 macs. For a few reasons, aesthetics, more time to do what I want to do and less time wasted on the constant maintenance that is part of the windows experience, and knowing that apple's support system actually works should I need it.
ddiiggiitt 2 years ago
As I said to kyutomusu I am not saying PC users are smarter than mac users. I'm generalising, and saying people that have less computer knowledge would prefer to use the mac because they encounter less driver related problems, malware etc. This is why they probably enjoy the mac experience more than windows. However I completely disagree about apples support, any major pc hardware vendor offers good support and there is far much more support for windows software than software on OS X.
ljscott1990 2 years ago
thats wrong dude, apple support kills HP, Dell and the like.
AppleShakeGuru 2 years ago
Well I have no personal experience with HP or Dell as I custom build my PC's. However just a short while ago I upgraded the BIOS on my P5K-E WIFI AP and it corrupted the cmos. Resetting it wouldn't fix it so I emailed Asus and they fixed it and sent it back to me within 2 weeks. This good considering my friends brand new mac book pro took over a month to replace a faulty logic board.
ljscott1990 2 years ago
Apple support is definitely awesome, especially when they blamed my superdrive failure on some minor cosmetic damage on my old MacBook.
hurf durf.
thebsdguy 2 years ago
i wouldnt say that id say windows users would be that because they are afraid to learn something new i have never thought macs are "easier" to use just "different" to use I'm mac linux user i despise windows because of DLL hell
SamueltehG33k 2 years ago
Fair enough, and I agree in general users of Windows like what they already are use to and are unlikely to change operating systems (Users not willing to move on from XP to Vista is a prime example of this). I have tried OS X, and am currently dual booting Vista and Ubuntu 9.04. BTW, I know your a mac / linux user because I subscribe to your channel, lol.
ljscott1990 2 years ago
I disagree with the less technical knowledge, I have seen a lot of computer science students begin to use OS X and I am sure that they know far more than most Windows "power users" and they do enjoy the Mac experience. Yes I do hang out in the computer science group a lot more but my point stands that you don't need a lack of knowledge in order to enjoy Mac.
sunnz 2 years ago
I wish I could delete that comment I made now. I was just generalising because most people who use computers have very little idea of what they are doing. Thing is I was actually complementing Mac in say it is easy to use and has pretty much no malware. People get screwed over by viruses and crap etc in windows because they have no idea what they are doing. For general users in my opinion linux is just not user friendly enough. That's why people prefer os x over linux.
ljscott1990 2 years ago
I think it is fine that people use computers have very little idea of what they are doing, that's the whole point of computers, no one knows everything there is to know of. I invent some very smart things and implement it in software and the rest of the world can use it without being an expert in my field. I wouldn't say Linux isn't user friendly neither, they are just picky about their friends.
sunnz 2 years ago
By the way I think in general people that call themselves power users are quite stupid too. They think they are smart or something because they have downloaded a whole lot of torrents and have a shitload of programs they have little knowledge of. With any OS it takes a lot of experience to maximise your efficiency in my opinion.
ljscott1990 2 years ago
A lot of power users are pretty stupid but there are few smart one's as well... some people just want to focus on what they are interested in rather than the computer... but anyway the people I was talking about are like software engineers, kernel hackers, etc... so of course they know a bit more than any power users. ;)
