See - i love this video, but isn't ironic that if this existed - it would be terribly racist, and yet in existence are things like MOBO awards (Music of Black Origin) and BBC 1Extra whose tagline is something like 'Love black music? love 1Extra' How come racism only works in one direction? Nope, music was originally created by Arabs. I believe the first instrument was a harp or an Oud. Cain was incredibly gifted with music, and he passed it down to his sons. :)

Actually, that's not an archaeological term, and your basing your 'facts' only on what has been discovered physically. But, if you want to talk archaeology, the oldest music-related object ever found was a song written in Cuneiform (on a stone tablet, of course), in the Middle East. ;) I base my facts off the Bible, which has been proven to be true on many accounts... Especially archaeologically speaking. Neanderthals were never PROVEN to be in existence, btw ;)

What isn't an archaeological term? Neolithic? I think you'll find it is. It begins around 9500 BCE if you're interested.
The flute I refer to is made of bone and has holes deliberately carved into it so the noise can be manipulated. It predates writing, even cunieform.
And please, don't get me started on the Bible. I have an extensive knowledge of ancient mythologies, and I can tell you the Bible is just an amalgamation of them. A ripoff, in other words, proved wrong more than it is ever right

Since you asked I'm studying archaeology and ancient history at Sheffield University. As you can tell, I have a rather empirical mind =P
Ironically it was the school education you mention that turned me off religion. Being spoon-fed the same stories year after year, day after day just made me think 'why?'
Pretty much all my knowledge of mythology comes from my own research, so yes, I have looked for evidence. And I've found that pretty much everything in the Bible has a parallel with older myths

I have no problem with people practicing there religion but forcing it on others, or try to change people, annoys me. people follow religions because they want something to believe in and to think they have a purpose. but lots of people who dont have purposes live full and fun lives that can be more satisfying than being held hostage by fear (as in most religions). every thing you see around you is created by hard work of man not a god. It is easy to disprove God because there is not a lot of (or any) proof of him existing. but we have proof that hard work and dedication anything can happen. and the Miracles from God are statistic possibilities. the bible can't prove anything. it was supposedly written 600 years after Christ died memory's fad and images change over time nothing in life is constant. beside right now i can start to write a book of a person who did great things that would normally be possible (cont.)

people started to believe in God to explain things we couldn't explain before and to help us when we couldn't help our self. but now we can explain things and we can help our self. there are less and less people believing in God for that reason.
the bible is now looked at as a guide but not set rules. its a good way to live an honest life but some of them are not meant for our time. let it rest

i have always been taught by my catholic school teachers and local priest that the bible took 60 (sorry i used 600 earlier it was a mistake) years to wright. And can you prove that Jesus's miracles ever even happened, these so called miracles are scientific possibilities . they have proven their to be 13 people different people named Jesus that through description seem to look similar (though its impossible to prove) they may have been multiple people using this to their advantage
