I believe that the locks were not made because of OUR greed, but fear of others' greed. I believe that most behaved people like you have locks to keep out "sinful" thieves who do not deserve your hard earned possessions. I'm quite sure your God wants his people to be happy and to not have to endure the shock of having everything stolen in one night/day. And if it means locks, then so be it. God is supposed to know everything and the best solution right? He did not say not to make locks.

Phil - I don't mean to say we are all bad guys because we have keys (though u might be onto something considering our sinful natures) - after all - we don't have an option when it comes to keys... can't buy a house or a car without em... but I was thinking about the very mindset behind the lock - and what that promotes...

I remember when I was young I grew up in a small town of about 100 people and never knew what a key really was for a house sure I seen them in cars a lot but that is because that is where people left them..It really was not that long ago. Now I would not even think of leaving my keys in the car. Even heaven has keys to the Gates and Peter was given them and Judas Iscariot was given money.

What motivates the desire for locks is the fact that there are people who want to knock your shit of that you worked for. Having said that....my door is often left unlocked. I dont buy into the delusion that somone is constantly attempting to break into my home. I do alarm monitoring for work, and live in whats considered break and enter city. LOL

I think idoal worship and paganism go hand and hand also with that as well. Even football, gambling, etc. Other gods before the truth god of the Hebrews. Rember though none will escape the true day of the lord. We all we be judged for are action. Thats why none should stock up on anything but just trust in god. Cause no one knows for sure what the next day will hold. Only the gentiles boast about tommorw and what we shall eat.
