Group skills, team work, face-to-face & hierarchical respect, individual pscho & socio-pathologies (of the student, teacher, enviroments) ...
More HUMAN-FACTORS literacy & practice, individual, one-on-one, small group, large groups, intimacy, hostility/ emotions, .... know-how & skill learning is required. The research is done, but needs more disseminating into the general communities.

SO TRUE!!! ex. Heidi Hayes Jacobs... has built her career on the next big thing. Just went to her conference where she said that teachers should use twitter and facebook in the classroom because the kids use it. Another presenter stated that we (teachers) should teach Facebook. Question- If they do itr well already... why are we teaching?
Wake up people, this is really happening. "According to The New York Times, more than 7,000 students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools are now in a program in which they are taking core subjects via computer. There’s no teacher in the class, but, rather, a “facilitator” to help the kids."
@iamcompucomp "The more powerful technology becomes, the more indispensable good teachers are." Michael Fullan.
If we are going to "wake up" we need to look clearly at all of the issues. This will require independent thought and critical analysis and neither of these things are easily taught by a Hewlitt Packard or Web Browser..
Beeautiful! Love the teacher decked out in their uniform and name badge, the telemarketer administrator, the whole fast-food, part-time, low-wage job foreshadowing of what is to come in education. Even more impressive is that everyone believes this garbage--somehow some north americans in the past were able to become intelligent, innovative, and motivated without a computer or a cellphone.
@UncleBilly3000 All those north americans from the pre-computer past that you mentioned will be able to apply their intelligence through the use of these 'technologies', once the hardware and infrastructure is easily (cheaply) available and 100% reliable (an issue all unto itself).
You are looking at the changing over from paper/print to online/multimedia.
