I don't think sewing over the pin is a good idea. UNLESS you are using super fine pins. In this case, you are NOT. You could just tack it in place with needle and thread. That's much safer.

I have seriously not been able to find a good video for invisible zippers that actually use clothing, it's always shown with two separate completely unattached pieces of material which does not help me one bit...But you have, thanks so much!
