Prolotherapy for (adhesive capsulitis) frozen shoulder, has been shown to work to stregthen external rotator cuff muscles. But you need more motion and not less so to get over it you have to work with a physical therapist with a good history of helping people with your similar problem. But this is not advice just what I have observed in my research of prolotherapy and treatable conditions. If it were me, and you are not, I would start with an orho and go with a recommended PT>
In Raleigh, NC. The 2 prolotherapists I recommend from my own personal experience (obviously your response to treatment may vary and my opinion is not a professional one) is Dr. Tom Motyka in Chapel Hill, NC and Dr. Steven Blievernicht near Asheville, NC.
billybill02: This procedure is listed as "expiremental" by my insurance agency. Can't vouch for the other agencies although if the FDA had given it it's blessing it probably wouldn't be considered experimental. Literature has show that it can regenerate cartilage. Most research done on knee cartilage regeneration.
Published studies have shown cartilage regineration. Can't speak to the adequacy of the expirement. Dr. Reeves out of Kansas has the latest on his website if you want to check that out. To my knowledge it has not been authorized by the FDA. However, Everett Koop, former Surgeon General, recieved prolotherapy on a back that was deemed untreatable and he was able to function without pain. He was so taken with prolotherapy that he practiced it himself on some of his family members.
Im thinking of getting prolotherapy for my back pain, im just wondering did it work for you?
