Whoever called out that he should sit down and act like a human being should realize that true Republicans follow the rules. A republic is based upon the law being the highest authority. If they break their rules, they break the Republic. And if they are willing to break the rules here, what does it say about our country? Our local government is supposed to be where we have the strongest influence, and if they try to do things like that what is at the top?

It didn't work and the Chairman regrets taking that approach and I think later realized that the Ron Paul people are just good conservatives, not people that are out to get him.

I was there and I know the Chairman. What I think happened was not that he knowingly tried to bypass certain rules but he made the mistake of trying to ignore someone that he thought was a Ron Paul supporter. I think that the "establishment" came up with a plan to ignore any additional "points of information", encourage a "scene" to be made and then try to have the RPers removed.

Robert's Rules of Order clearly state that the Chair must recognize a point of order. Ergo, ignoring a point of order is a clear violation of the rules. It is cut and dry.

My gosh, I can't believe I'm getting a thumbs down for just trying to be fair here. Of course I think it was wrong for him to ignore the point of order.... I just don't want people to think "It was obvious that knowingly the not-head intended on bypassing the voting on the rules." This guy has never been to a county caucus and didn't want to be the chairmen. If something wasn't on his agenda... he didn't know it had to be done. I do think he took some bad advice on ignoring the point of order.

I gave you a thumbs down because you are apologizing for someone who abused his position of authority. The whole point is that he blatantly ignored points of order coming in from all over the room, which he MUST recognize, and it doesn't matter who the person bringing it is!

He said in an email to some family members that he made a mistake by not acknowledging the guy (that's an understatement) but that in the end things went well and even Ron Paul supporters told him he did a good job over all (considering he had never been to a caucus before). These are the kind of RP Conservatives we need to have at these events... smart, firm, and kind.

Worse here in Ron Pauls district, the Chairman called me the day before the caucus and removed me from the nominations committee by telephone I cut up my voters card and I will never vote again untill this entire scourge is gone from this country. I am prepared to fight to the death against these dictators.
