The phone was really good at first, but there are so many bugs and lag. I hate how Samsung does not offer you software updates, android 2.3 was supposed to be out already, we had to update to 2.2 using a computer, not over the air. So beware, if you buy a Samsung galaxy s or gs2 you will have a long wait for an update!

These are going on ebay fairly cheap now. $200 is about right for one in great condition. I just switched to Tmo for a Bold 9780 but I always have a secondary android device. Im thinking this or nexus s, or HTC incredible S. Just wished it had a camera flash...but I can get over that.

that phone is really nice. but my wife went through 4 of them by braking the digitizer or the whole digitizer and screen, it was vary costly to repair. its a beautiful device but very flimsy because of the plastic housing, but its a great phone if u keep it out of pocket.

Bought one of these used last weekend that was rooted and hacked to oblivion to the point where none of the features really worked well, sure it was running Gingerbread 2.3.3 and Cyanogenmod 7 (not sure if that spelling is correct), but after spending some time digging up old firmware and the Odin utility, I managed to get it back to it's stock form. I can deal with the bloat apps as many of them I used anyway.

I was burned with the Behold II and was wary of this phone, but Samsung has a winner

Incredible phone; has a fast processor, beautiful visuals, incredibly efficient battery usage, lightweight, and of course crystal clear voice call quality.

I can run like 5 apps at a time and it won't die until many hours of use, and in normal use, I have made the phone last for over a week on a single 100% charge!

I have a Vibrant, I thought it was the best thing ever when I got it. but now I'm starting to hate it, the Phone is so buggy. The GPS after the update fix, no longer works, When I'm on a call, and receive another, I can not see who's calling, screen stays black until call goes to voicemail, and so many other bugs.

Google is about to release 2.4 Honeycomb and we have no 2.2 yet. so Samsung and Tmobile really slow on updates. I wish I had waited for Nexus S, at least updates will come out sooner

Somewhat random question about the Vibrant: Y'know how some touch screens (namely on Apple products) can only be touched with your actual finger while others (like the Gateway One, the computer I'm using now) can be touched with a pencil or fingernail or whatever? Which is true of the Vibrant?

@proudrhrshipper It is a Capacitative touch screen, which means it can only be touched with your finger. Resistive touchscreens are the ones where you can use anything for the screen.

@ErisRivera5 i kno i love the super amoled screen ive seen it in person, but the guy here at phonearena said it was third in the screen department after samoled and retina but is it really that bad? if i got the mytouch i would probably only use it for self portraits or something so i agree with you. i really want the vibrant for the scree of course, and the internal memory, however, im still not sure because the mytouch has a better camera, i love htc sense, android 2.2. already goin to get 2.3

This phone is awful i've had mine for about a week know and in the past few days it has frozen up on me, foreclosed alot of my apps, and avatar will no longer play.I've switched to the mytouch 3g slide and I absolutely love it!! even though they have made a newer version the slide is still great.

Ya I know, I never mentioned display. Uptil Retina iPhone had sucky display (their macbook had and have the most amazing notebook displays). AMOLED in their current state are FAR more expensive and Use 330% battery of LCD and are hard to manufacture. Samsung's exclusive intellectual property on SAMOLED is running out. Also AMOLED are harder to manufacture. We won't see any Giant AMOLED soon. Pentile sucks aswell

as for the pages thing. it really it the most logical way for them to do it, other than the full page up/down app drawer. so in a technical way, samsung was really just thinking how to make this interface more user-frriendly
