@54markl - hahahahahahaaaa! Guffaw! Yes I see what you mean... Gabriel stuck with Music where Collins sold out to commercialism... like a stand up stiff in a monkey suit! A once great drummer messing around with electronic high hats, murdering a pianoand warbling. When it comes time for me to pop me clogs I wouldn't mind purgatory if The Angel Gabriel still lurks there though - Gave Collins the Invisible touch straight after Trick of the Tail! Ever listened to Passion? THAT is PURE MUSIC!
Once upon a time, There was Genesis,,,, The Beginning. Then The Great Creator left and Genesis was cast out of Heaven.... Thankfully God survived but Genesis were no more. - From The Book of Gabriel, Psalm 1:5:9
@zooreeka Peter Gabriel haunted Purgatory for a time, a pale shadow of himself. He's still there. Phil Collins made a snappy cover of Diana Ross, released a bunch of I Forget, and went straight to Limbo.
Everybody on both sides died, so a third gang "tossed a coin" and took over. Weird story of gangland antics in London's East Side, with music Jerry Lee Lewis would barely recognize as Rock. Gabriel is one of the best lyricists of all time, and has a unique voice. He should come back, he's worlds better than Phil Collins.
@54markl Yes, and Phil Collins is one of the best drummers all time and should have stayed there - but i'm afraid these times are gone and will never come back...
@1803fe They were my favorite group in freshman year. I saw them three times. Then they kind of went belly up after Roger Dean stopped drawing their covers. And Punk came along. Their video for Owner of a Lonely Heart, years later, was quite good. They harbored great bitterness in their hearts for the Ramones, as I remember. The Ramones are still my favorite group. Are Yes still around, they must be quite old now. Rick Wakeman was kind of a dick, awful solo album.
@Typtomai Both true... great time for music it was. Genesis, King Crimson... grea music. Lopve the Peter era of Genesis.. and indeed Phil was a fantastic drummer (lately i discovered he did a lot of great harmonie singing at that time
I've seen the Musical Box twice and soon a third time. All times though they do the Lamb. When they did Selling England and Black shows they did not come to my town. Always great to see the Lamb though.

I wish I was born earlier to see Genesis live!!! They were just amazing!
For those who weren't born in 74 (like me), you can see a really good tribute band named "The Musical Box". They use the same stage setting, almost the same instruments and costumes, it's the closer you can ever get to Genesis during the Gabriel-era!
is Gabriel wearing a ski mask? because it kinda looks like he's in blackface....

@Typtomai Yep, aside from a bloated Pink Floyd, Progressive is pretty much done.

@Typtomai Yes, he was great. I don't know where music is going now, I think the pirates have sunk the whole thing.

@law245 Back then, the most you could get
out of a Super8 camera was Three Minutes: Twenty Seconds. SILENT!
(2:40 with crappy sound)
Film and processing would equal ~$30+ each cartridge these days

Christ, Genesis were great back then
