After looking hard at the Canadian system as a comparison, it seems Americans are brainwashed into being fearful of a socialized healthcare system. I didn't fight so that Americans could be so ignorant. We now have to fight for our rights. 18% of our GNP is going to healthcare, so we're going broke too.
I just wonder how many Americans have seen the government as a group of rich people who use the average working American as nothing more than a slave in the field to enrich those in the big house. Amazing how much money is taken from Americans to enrich others while they themselves lose their jobs, healthcare and homes. Yet our taxes pay for the jobs, healthcare and homes for those in government and prisons, along with free college educations for lite time prisoners. Do you feel like a slave?

Finally it got to the point where I had difficulty breathing and rushed to the ER. Found out I had congestive heart failure. I eat healthy, don't smoke, don't drink and don't do drugs and still got this illness. I work hard for my money but can't pay for insurance. CONTINUED

This woman is full of crap. Every study finds that americans have the highest survival rates for most diseases. The reason the U.S. was 37th on that WHO ranking of health care systems is because they think we deny poor people health care. Which is 100% false! As a percentage we have less people dye of health care deficientcies than most other countries. The WHO even ackmits in their study that there is a large margin on error and that their study is completely unreliable.

Except that what you described is not how it works. In Australia, which has universal healthcare, the government has no say in your diet or lifestyle. However in the US, HMO's will deny you treatment or insurance for similar types of things. I wouldn't be very proud about BCBS "anthem". If you have individual insurance you are probably overpaying, also if you work for a small company, the pay you could be getting is going to health insurance.
Everybody knows that healthcare is not free, the same way, police and fire departments are not free, we pay for them. The public plan option would require most to pay, BUT it would be a great option in comparison to BCBS.
