Amazing cadenza!! It's as if Mozart had written it himself! Such a perfect part of a concerto, perfectly fitting it and displaying its theme at the same time!
What can one say - a wonderful interpretation,as perhaps only Lipatti could have achieved. The cadenza (probably his own composition) is a delight, listen for the three descending octaves in the left hand at the end of the cadenza - he brings the whole piece to life.
I understand why everybody says that when Lipatti plays, the music plays itself. It is pure sound, pure music whose vehicle is him. He is so fit for Mozart! But then he is so fit for Bach, for Chopin, for piano solo, for orchestra.
While exposing phenomenal technique, Lipatti still maintains the deep sensual approach as requested by the piece, the kind of interpretation achieved only by genuine artists.
thank you...this is great..I thought I was not in the mood for piano until I mosyed on over and took a listen...as you know how very limited my listening is (laughing!) this was a nice change up that I enjoyed..
now youre doing yourself a disservice. i KNOW thats NOT true. you have v good musical taste and listening repertoire, although of course (like me) you prefer the violin - of course only correct - but i know you apprecite great music which of course this mozrt is

Merci Marc d'avoir posté cet enregistrement.
Oh, how magnificent!
