Yes. 13.99 or quicker requires a helmet. This car has run as fast as 13.00 since this video was taken and can run 12's now. There are a few new SHO's in Detroit who are knocking on the 11 second door.
Airaid CAI / Corsa catback system / Eibach Pro-Kit lowering kit / Wheel Pros 20" Lorenzo wheels on factory Michelin tires (each wheel/tire combo is 4 lbs heavier than stock and slowing car down a bit.
It is a shit run indeed, but the SS automatic is not as fast as the manual. It has too much torque management, so 13.9 is actually what they run... definitely over 13.5. With a simple tune reducing torque management, you can easily rip one second off and run in the 12's. The manual would be able to run in the 12's without a tune a a good driver though.
That is the V8... They aren't that fast... If automatic, they lose a lot of speed in the gear changes (too much torque management). With a tune, they can drop by about a second to high 12's... The other issue is the lauching...
@steve142857 u do have a point but if u have the optional paddle shifters in the 11, your launch will be better. i believe shos also have a launch control button if i am correct.
No launch control in the SHOs... Paddle shifters, but I don't use them to race, auto is faster. It is AWD though which helps a lot for launches, but is heavy for the balance of the race... Same engine and mods in a Mustang frame with RWD with slicks would be a mid 11's car at 120 mph imo... But then, it wouldn't be a sleeper like the SHO is... I'll try to hit the 11's next year with a few more mods... ; )

Yes,the other Camaro in my vid was tuned.It was a good sec. faster than stock.That said,I had a late start of about 0.3 seconds if I remember.I finished with 12.76 and him at 12.85.It doesn't show that way because a late start of 0.3 seconds is about half a car but at the other end,0.2 seconds is about 2 cars lenght.So I started half a car late and he finished 2 cars in front,but still I got a better time.In bracket racing he would have won,but I wouldn't be filimng at same time!
Custom tune on the SHO? Camaro took off one second later - was that delayed reaction or go light was out of sequence? Either way, doesn't matter... love the SHO.

13.9 on a 2010 SS is a shit run. They are good for 13.2 all day with a half assed driver, bone stock.
