  • Actually it is not about regulating the internet or not.

SOPA and PIPA are overreach since they are bill written by special interests.

Piracy is a real problem, the issue is SOPA and PIPA does nothing about the real problem, and just give the right to censor sites to the corporation.

It is not whether we regulate the internet, it is how do we solve the piracy issue without destroying the internet.

There is a reason I dislike libertarians, it is because they always take the easy way out.

  • Guess I'll settle for Paul, would of preferred Gingrich or Cain, but their campaigns have gone to shit. But I sure as hell don't want Romney in office.

  • Ron Paul 2012.

  • SOPA can go to hell!!!!!

  • What a politician. He VOTED NO on net neutrality and now he's against SOPA. -The irony.

Screw Ron Paul. "Oh he's so cool!" And desperate. And extremely full of crap. -But you keep on thinking you're an "outside thinker" for supporting an old confederate white supremacist bigot. GOOD! FOR! YOU! "SHEEPLE!"

Reminds me of how Nazi Germany started.

Bad economy+Bad politician. Good talker. Racist views. People fall into it & suddenly they ugnore rred flags, excuse discrimination & think he's God. Sad.

  • @TheAntiRonPaul His principle is no REGULATION of any kind; SOPA and Net Neutrality are both forms of regulation. There's nothing "ironic" about that.

Next time read up on his reasoning of his positions before spouting off crap.

  • @TheAntiRonPaul Holy fuck, you are fucking horrible. Just, at life. Literally, everything you just said is a complete fallacy.

  • @TheAntiRonPaul And you actually dedicated your channel to your moronic views.

  • And wouldn't you know it! I didn't search anything for Ron Paul, I just typed "regulating the internet" and my man Paul once again steps up and shares my views in the White House.

The internet is the last form of communication that has not been touched by the government. It's not broke, so don't fix it! Once the internet is regulated, true freedom of speech & expression will be demolished.

Wake up and vote Ron Paul please

  • Message to all Masonic bastards. Get your hands off the Internet. It is a warning.

If you shut down or harm the internet, we will shut down or harm the government. It is a promise.

Internet is the last people’s open platform of free speech. Those dicks should spend time and cash on catching crooks which are robbing financial system instead of spending it on debating how to shut our mouths.

  • Find at least 1 person every day - who does not already Know about Ron Paul, and convince them to Google Ron Paul.

He Represents US, not Them, and it scares the crap out of the media and the lifetime politicians. They will pull out all the stops to fight Against him in the 2012 elections, it will take a Massive movement by We The People to fight back.

  • Ron Paul is awesome. Fuck the other brainwashing cunts.

  • this and many other common sense issues are why he received my vote in the primaries, I hope he is a cyborg and lives to be a thousand years old....we need ron paul and many people like him, if there wasn't such support for the two parties that have driven our country into the ground over the past quarter century we might actually be in a much better place....oh and I love Clinton too, just one president in my life that has produced a profit for the government, but what do I know right?

  • I dont agree with Ron paul on many things. But I agree with him on this more than anything. This basic philosophic principal which dates back to Plato: Laws restrict liberty and freedom. For a country that stands for freedom, every law that is passed through the senate should be fundamentally viewed as a negative thing. Especially the government interfering with a communication tools such as the public media and the internet.

  • ron paul is my hero dude is the only one with any brains. people need to quit electing idiots to lead us

  • How people are so willing to give the government control of the internet is absolutely beyyyyyyyond me. Conservatives who are for it yet who claim to be for less government and Liberals who are for it but proclaim respect for individual rights and freedom of whatever. What a load of bullocks. People are so fucking stupid.

  • @furtron0852

Lmao... Ok I'll hook you up my FTP ID is kazrela9326 =]

    And its true

  • right now sign up fulltilt poker using referral code POKERDEAL14 and play poker with free $600.

  • -- Ron Paul will never win USA elections ,, Biga daddies are in the house ,,, OIL GAS conglomarerates ...

He may end up like Kennedy if he Wins . but they make sure he does not.

  • Ron Paul I thank you

  • Regulating the internet would be a violation of freedom of the press.

  • The constitution didn't stop congress from turning over the power of our currency to the FED or many other bills that have passed for that matter.

  • google dontmakeuspay ! you'll definitely like it

  • What is regulation? Not exactly an easy definition. If we tell ourselves that regulation is essentially the control of internet, then it is evil (as well as improbable). But if regulation is the monitoring of illegal actions on the internet, then what is there to complain about. Complaining about watching out for illegal activities seems a bit, well, retarded.

Then again, we are talking about a libertarian who voted against gay rights.

  • Thats not regulation. You've been misinformed.

  • pure logic.

  • Keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer!

  • Of course they want to regulate the internet. With the trade of information we are realizing, SLOWLY, that we exist in a world of ideas and therefore, a world of abundance. The interests of those that seek power are served by the idea of scarcity. The only truly scarce resource is time, and we are running out.

  • My god, I love Ron Paul.

  • It's so easy to support Ron, I mean he just spanks everyone with the Constitution and they're to ignorant/corrupt to realize it.

  • @mathiastheok: It's almost as though he is the only sane person in the entire building sometimes. If only he was 30 years younger, I'm sure he could make an even more serious run at the Presidency.

  • @mathiastheok Absolutely 100% couldn't agree more with you my friend

  • Open Internet is a must. The Net Neutrality Act seems to be a necessary evil, as it would prevent major phone companies from taking control and/or blocking content. However, in such an instance of that happening, any "open" company would likely flourish.

  • Ron Paul isn't a gentleman so stop referring him to him as that, congress.

     Call 'em daddy.

  • Well said Penlord.

  • if they regulate the internet they'll probably block all the ron paul videos lol

  • I love how the only stuff on cspan worth posting is Ron Paul.

  • Thomas E. Woods Jr. is on C-SPAN sometimes.

  • Aye, ya got me there. And sometimes other senators and congressmen say good things too. We need more of that. Thinking by intelligent people in power, I mean.

  • go Ron!!

  • I usually agree with Ron Paul, but on Net Neutrality I completely disagree. The internet is THE most important tool of freedom, and regulating it is unconstitutional.

  • Um, thats Ron Paul's position. Did you even understand what he was saying?

  • Ron Paul supporting internet regulations = end of the world. LOL

You know Ron Paul wouldnt' supprt that.

  • You know Ron Paul is against internet regulations right?

  • LOLTROLLED!

  • ABOLISH THE STATE !

  • Idiotic statements like that are what make libertarianism so hard to defend at times. Although in an ideal world their would be no state the simple reality is that in the absence of government another group of powerful men would rise to power. Therefore even if we distrust the state and wish to minimize its powers one must still accept its presence in some form as a necessary evil.

  • Libertarian does not = anarchist.

  • your correct

Libertarian= the only people in this country who still follow what our founding fathers thought.

  • freedom hating commies voted to give the FDA the power to regulate tobacco this is backdoor prohibition. I guess before long the only choice that will still be legal is abortion.

  • Its ok for them to gamble with social security and lose the nations money. Its ok to gamble with the stock market or with other mens lives but a simple man cannot do with his labours what he wants if it harms no one?

All theirs actually harm others not internet gambling and Im no gambler, I'm just for the rights of those who chose to though I dont agree either.

  • The best way to combat the mainstream media is to buy music, movies, magazines, and newspapers only from alternative media, independent studios, and record labels. Sell/trade any DVDs and CDs you have from the big 6 media conglomerates. Don't use myspace or IGN which are owned by Fox. Give up a little so your kids don't have to give up a lot.

  • ...I hate to break it to you, but those ideas will not save the mainstream media. Once you buy something, they will try to make you buy more & more. Music is sometimes inelastic, which means price will continue to go up even if more people buy it. These monoploy organizations don't give a crap for the consumers.

If you want to fight back against these Corruptables, you better speak with your State Representative to pass a legislation to repeal this law that is crippling the media.

  • If you support regulating the Internet, then you are the problem.

  • I wish music was free & legal again :(

  • Impossible, nobody would put hard work and years into making music if the industry isn't profitable.

  • Correction: POSSIBLE

...so according to you. EVERYTHING we download from the Interenet should be legalize--.jpgs, .mp3s, etc. Why can't you just look at what actual statistics have shown, these guys have only made it worse for artists, musicians, & consumers in being reliable in getting & selling music. This legislation has done nothing but make the music industry suffer & DRMs has made less & less people want to buy music.

    *continues*

  • What I am saying is that government regulation won't work! I don't want government regulation on the internet! Music would be something the government would use to take over the internet and then start abusing their power just like everything else. If someone has a copyright on their music then they have the right to stop the sell and use of their music....this is not government regulation, this is enforcment of property rights! The regulation we are talking about is much more than music!

  • 1999 - Record sales boomed

    2000 - Record sales increase by 10%

    2001 - Record sales increase by 2%

    2002 - Record sales increase by 6%

*** 2003 - US Congress approved of the DMCA in March***

    2004 - Record sales dropped by 10%

    2005 - Record sales dropped by 50%

2006 - Record sales dropped 20% below national average.

Hmm...I wonder why record sales are so low?

  • Congress passed the DMCA in 1998, not 2003. Don't get me wrong, the bill has some negative oligopolizing effects.

  • But wasn't the DMCA updated in 2003? I remember John Stossel interviewing CEO Cary Sherman on 20/20 in March 2003---in his "Give Me A Break". Still, whether it was the DMCA or not, it has devestated the entertainment industry. And to make matters worse, other countries are doing the same.

  • This redicules! Give me a Break! Eversince the DMCA was passed by US Congress record sales have been their lowest trough ever! I wonder what's next huh? Will we have to pay to view .jpg or .gif images? People like you sicken me! Times have changed, & no anyone can make music! Putting these regulations on the consumers will only result in less & less people actually buying the music!

Pay attention people! Paying for music has only resulted in less & less customers buying the music!

  • The music industry will fall under its own weight just like Communism.

As one user said: "The age of plastic golden records is no more, MP3s are the future, now anyonw can make them if they have the right music-making software."

  • Net neutrality is a facade for regulating the internet. He opposes all government intervention, including regulating the internet as you just saw here. Why dont you actually read what the "net neutrality" bill says.

  • It assures everyone has the same access and corps can't manipulate it in their favour and turn it into a propaganda tool. And this is the least one can expect, as the internet was developed using public tax money and then handed over to private institutions. You guys are just stupid, government is EVIIIIIL and big industry GOOOOD. No thinking required.

  • I am a member of the Liberatianz Party of New Zealand. Please help us support the party either online or financially. It is the election in this country as well, and we have socialist ideas going unchallenged in the parliament.

  • Ron Paul is the only hope for this country. Wake up.

  • CreativeMessage, "Ron Paul is the only hope for this country. Wake up."

    I'm awake!

  • Preach on, Father Paul!

  • I'm not really a libertarian, but something in me goes "yeah!" whenever they give speeches like this.

  • So..... go ahead and become Libertarian! There's a freedom of mind which comes with beginning to embrace these principles of political and personal freedom. It gives you that warm fuzzy feeling deep down inside :).

  • Oh, one more thing. Being libertarian is sometimes more of a mindset than it is a political party. In fact, my view is that libertarian ideas will be more likely to succeed as an ideology within the current political framework rather than as a third party.

  • "You can't get rid of the demand, you only end up turning it over to the criminal side." I agree completely. Limiting something doesn't get rid of the amount of people who want it regardless whether it's allowed or not. Freedom of choice is what we've always stood up for. Taking away freedoms from one thing doesn't stop the act from others.

  • Ron Paul is awesome.

How can anyone think regulation of the internet is a good thing?

  • A fascist might like more regulations. anyone seen "1984?" The free market solves many problems, this is one. This net neutrality bill is another example of people giving up their freedoms for "security"

    Benjamin Franklin

They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

  • Wow I hope youre being saracstic.

  • Ron Paul would save this country, I can't stand all these Christian neo-conservatives

  • Give an argument when you curse someone, DJ.

  • Hah and Ron Paul is protecting your right to say that on the internet.

  • Nah, more like he's protecting our right to bet on whether or not he wins the election!

  • happymyster: "Nah, more like he's protecting our right to bet on whether or not he wins the election!"

He made that speech before we was running for the presidential race you moron.

  • get a sense of humor

  • HAHAHA

  • ron paul is awesome, why do we have so many communists on both left and right? can't we use the capitalism which got usa to no 1 spot? why do we assume that commnuism, which has always failed, is the answer? why do we blame governmetn failure on the market.......the market is awesome cuz no one buys crap in free market...bad things die off....all the bs government people who get money that normal people would never give them...how? goernmetn stealing money and giving it to them by FORCE

  • i wonder...did he give this speech after or before Barney Frank. Either way Barney Frank gave a much better arguement/speech on the subject.

  • Am I missing something here? This is about online gambling, not net neutrality. This has no relation to net neutrality.

  • "Fucking over the internet"? How so? Didn't he just literally say "regulation of the internet is a bad idea"?

  • You don't understand. Ron Paul is against the government stepping in and stopping ISP's from limiting access through a tiering system. The government's possible action is called Net-Nuetrality, they aren't going to be "regulating the internet", rather regulating the ISPs to make sure that they don't fuck us all over.

  • it gives the government the basis to seperatley regulate something which should always be beyond federal control regardless what is being regulated. it provides grounds for falsely creating the image that more regulation would be neccissary and that you can trust the government. it is the first baby step for bigger things and it is absolutley unnessicary. leave the aone. completly

  • Whatever you say buddy, but you'd better not make a fucking peep when you have to pay extra to go on Youtube to watch a conspiracy video about why Ron Paul didn't win the 2008 election. :)

  • ISP's are not as dumb as you think. Neither you nor I nor the government know how bandwidth should be distributed better than the ISP's themselves. Video streaming demand is growing and ISP's can only compete for the best pricing. In the end the free market always gives lower prices and better service.

  • Arnt you from Austriala? WTF do you know about American Politics? Seriously. And your 19.

"This video clearly shows how Paul is alienating his largely online fan base and fucking over the internet, yet they are arrogant enough to ignore it and turn it into a positive."

Are you mentally ill or just plan stupid? Ron Paul is voting against Government regulations. Your telling me that people on the internet are FOR regulations? lol, smoke much crack DOWN there bud? wow

  • Dr. Paul states clearly what he opposes and that is the PRECIDENT that would be set if this particular legislation would be passed. That's how this government works. They start small. One liberty gone, on to the next. Nation builders are patient people. And people like you are simple minded, which is exactly the type of person they need. Someone who will take the crap they spit out and eat it with a silver fork.

  • I love you Ron paul.

You make everything so clear, like Jesus.

  • be careful

Ron Paul is just a man.

  • And so was Jesus.

  • The regulation is to prevent tampering with the internet we have right now. I like Ron Paul but he is out of his mind here.

  • In this case it would seem that the regulation is in regards to banning online gambling, not net neutrality. In which case I'd likely agree with Ron.

  • Actually, google FREEDOMAIN RADIO! If you listen to him daily, it will enrich your life like you never thought possible!

  • While I am here....how many of you have heard of Freedomain Radio? The host, Stefan Molyneux, is an incredible libertarian philosopher. NOT FOR THE COWARDLY. He will tell it like it is, but he will also make your day sunny. Google his name. He has close to 1000 podcasts (and growing) and they are free:)

  • Good. Everything he says is true.

  • 1:54 - "I think it's pretty stupid, to tell you the truth."

    Hahahaha.

  • Do you have a reason that you think he's stupid? If you don't have a reason for what you say....if you can't back up what you are telling people, YOU are the one that looks stupid. So....gives us a reason to agree. You should also make sure what you say makes sense. Thanks

  • he's quoting ron paul not saying he's stupid

  • Yes...

I looked at his profile after I wrote that. I suppose I look stupid now! Hehe....it's a good lesson for me anyway...

  • Look at that man. Fighting his heart out for us, even before we knew about him, and before he knew we would support him. Bless him!

  • Ron Paul 2008

  • the "L" is lowercase- libertarian beliefs as opposed to the Libertarian Party- Ron Paul 2008

  • All these pieces of shit are paid too much for doing NOTHING!

What a waste. If they all died nobody would give a shit. Wake up people.

  • we are waking up, can't you see? we're trying to wake up and activate people like you charliebunns.

  • What the hell are you nattering on about? They are adequately effective at their job, which is to pass legislation allowing their owners to do things that are currently illegal, immoral, or both. Sometimes they are shown being illegal and immoral themselves, it makes a show for the peons -- uh, consumers. I mean *voters*!

  • Vote Ron Paul in 2008

  • Hey now... don't forget about Japan, SKorea, China, Australia, New Zealand, UK, Germany, Poland, Italy, Greece, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland!

Just reminding you of other places to move. I'd also say Canada but with this N.A.U. thing... it would be pointless.

  • the revolution is upon us brothers

  • its always scary when white people say that, because when you do, LOTS of people die.

  • oops, i guess that did kind of sound like something "the brotherhood" would say, but i assure you that i dislike them as much as anyone else, and that the revolution im talking about is one for all individuals regardless of what they look like

  • Ron Paul has some great ideas, but he is way off base with his opposition to Net Neutrality. Net Neutrality doesn't regulate the internet, but rather regulates the providers and prevents them from using their government granted position of power (telcos were given extraoridnary freedom to build our infrastructure) to harm internet users and sites by limiting access through a tiering system.

  • Umm... it sounded to me like he was talking about a bill that made gambling sites illegal. Although he probably would side with the corporations on net neutrality.

  • Ron Paul voted against restricting online gambling which I must say I felt was the right thing to do.

  • "I think it's pretty stupid, TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH."

You won't see any other candidate, Republican or Democrat, end a sentence like that.

  • RON PAUL 2008 !!

  • Brilliant. Dr Paul is a true patriot, and the only one in the race who stands on principle instead of selling out. We need to be more aggressive in supporting this man. Now is the time!

  • lol more aggressive? How can one possibly get more aggressive than Ron Paul supporters already are?

  • Guliani's foreign policy is crazy. He believes in torture, loss of habeus corpus, and general statism.

  • that would never happen... dr paul is to smart of a man to be associated with gulliani , rudy shouldnt even be in his presence...

  • I sort of agree, they should be nice to each other. But Ron Paul needs to help us end this war that was based on lies, and has made the rest of the world hate us. Ron Paul does not insult our intelligence with stupid propaganda, and will help us end the war now, before we go bankrupt! If Bush is allowed to keep this war going, I think every American should get a T-shirt saying 500 Billion dollars spent in Iraq, and all I got was a lousy T-shirt!

  • exactly! people keep trying to slander him by confusing the easily confused, of which i am one. i feel this will be a battle we will be fighting against the legalese who are on the payroll of crooked interests.

  • well said

  • undemocratic" or "democratic" refers to a system of government in which all people have an equal voice."

The debate is whether the unpopular should have as much power as the popular. In a democracy the popular have power. So, something that is not democratic would be socialism where every citzen.....popular or not is going to have the same amount of power.

  • "undemocratic" or "democratic" refers to a system of government in which all people have an equal voice."

Okay, for "undemocratic" your using the word 'demo' which means 'mob' in a different sense then that of "democratic". What it sounds like your trying to tell me is "they are two sides of the same coin." I'm using the word "demo" the same for both of them so they are not two sides of the same coin.

  • Dude, I don't care if it's a word or not you get the idea. Worrying about whether an understandable word is an actually word or not is some elitist garbage.

    Democratic>>>>>>mob rule

    Undemocratic>>>>>>not mob rule

It would would give the minority 50% even though the "mob of the minority" doesn't equal 50%, and that is not how democracy works.

  • bear my children ron paul!

  • Is this BARACK! I KNEW IT! we'll win this election yet!

  • Paul rocks so hard! He's like a 25 year-old's mind in a 60 year-olds body but who is actually 71.

  • Give me Ron Paul.

  • Ron Paul is not a politician, he is a Statesman. The only genuine man in congress.

  • I agree with everyting Dr. Ron Paul said.

  • It's not like they are run by the governent and are denying us access to information in order to control us. Hell, the only reason they are in bussiness is because we bought their internet service.

  • This Congress is democratic correct? Well, they are voting on something that is un-democratic in princple. The reason ISP's grant better access to the certain sites is because those websites are more popular. Why would they grant equal access to sites people won't go too? It's illogical, uncapitalistic, and un-democratic. ISP's aren't denying us access to information, they are just giving us our money's worth.

  • dethmachineengage, although i agree with you that controlling the internet is a bad idea, i just wanted you to know that ur use of the word "undemocratic" was incorrect. "undemocratic" or "democratic" refers to a system of government in which all people have an equal voice. therefore, it would not be "undemocratic".... it would be "un-free" (of course, that isnt a word)

  • "Prohibition doesn't work"

Exfucken exactly. The prohibition of drugs and alcohol has done more harm then good. Just because you ban something doesn't mean people are not going to buy it. The reason for even being able to live your life selling drugs might because prohibition increases the demand for the illegal substance. Has congress ever though about that?

  • Congress does not think, that is why this bill passed. The war on drugs ruins millions of lives yet it keeps getting a bigger budget every year.

  • The only honest man in politics... we are lucky to have someone like Ron Paul fighting for us.

  • He shouldn't be the only one though. I think more of us young Americans would really benefit this country if we continue Ron Paul's political work. Advocating small government, and etc.

  • The only thing which needs regulating is the government. Internet Schminternet!

  • This MAN FUCKIN ROCKS IT!!!

  • Drink your libertarian kool-aid Mr Paul and keep fucking those whores the telecom lobbyists are sending to you....

  • Libertarianism would get rid of lobbyist, you idiot. learn something about it. It's not as black-white as your average ignorant democratic/republican politico.

  • fube!!! you didnt get what I was saying catfish lover!!!! He is buying into lobbyist shit, and he wont get elected and wont be able to get rid of lobbyists if he keeps buying into their crap!!!! gads you ron people need to lay off the fuckin fo twennie!!!!

  • What's wrong with the Internet as it is? Gee whiz, this thing is just about perfect in it's ability for people to universally communicate across borders and about nearly any idea.

The government shouldn't take any steps to change it. This is great, it's wonderful. Don't change a thing. Leave it as it is.

  • Ron Paul is not Jesus Christ and should never be compared to Him.

    That having been said:

    RON PAUL 2008!!!

  • Prohibition is a failed policy, and does more harm to people than the prohibitied substance or action.

    END THE DRUG WAR NOW!

  • Is he talking about net neutrality or online gambling? Sounds to me like he's actually talking about gaming - this could be an argument against any of several bills that attempted to regulate online gambling.

For those who don't know, the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act was attached to the Port Security Conference report which became the Port Security Act at literally the last minute at the end of the last congress. The house nor senate ever even got to debate much less vote.
