Last time when I bought the Qosmio G5598J,I got some harddisk troubles,then I returned it to toshiba,they did help me to change a new one,but,as a result the new laptop got a dot on the screen...what a cock sucker!!Toshiba you win!!...Remeber,never buy a toshiba laptop!

@garciasslb Nah, I currently have a Toshiba Sattelite L775D-S7222 which is actually pretty good for my kind of gaming (like medium to semi-hardcore) and it's pretty good (kinda like a mobile version of the qosmio) but the next laptop I'll get (after this laptop does not work well like maybe 4 or 5 years, I'll probably be getting a qosmio but by then, games will be intense, but I'll figure it out.

Is this Toshiba Qosmio X500-Q930X model? I see that toshibadirect-dot-com has it for $1800, but it takes then 1-2 weeks to deliver. It is ridiculous that a pre-built laptop cannot be ship within 24-48 hours.

i am using a quosmio 505 that i just bought like 2 months back,,, i dont have any issues with it present but all these reviews actaully scared me, now i am wondering whether i made the right choice.. i dont know... and it actually does get heated up..

@MultiHarry1981 i have one too and when you consider that the only spot on the laptop where the heat is centers around the vents its really perfeclty fine. but you should worry about dropping it since the sucker isnt the easiest to carry around. id recommend a squaretrade 3 year warranty.

haha, you are lucky... Qosmio is very cheap in USA! I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and here this laptop costs about 3000$... So be happy that it costs 1200 ;D

Toshbia is china knock off. my X505-q890 over heated and melted the heat sink and fryed the motherboard and the repair service is a knock off. they cut me off on the phone and not anwer my questions I am not buying any more of there products again this X505-Q890 is the 2nd computer that died on me from the start its fcking bull shit

@pikabko1 really? i had a toshiba laptop, x205-s9810, it lasted just about 3 years and the repair center told me that the mother board overheated. It was bullshit, it was working fine in the morning, i shut it off, went to the gym for an hour, came back, turned it on, and it wouldnt work.

i bought the qosmio X505-Q870 but i have a problem with the speakers..

im playing a song(from original cd-high quality) in windows media player in top volume(in default setting-no bass or anything else) and the speakers becoming noisy.

(its like i have been using them for a long long time in the wrong way and the speakers gets pierced..you know like the woofers in the car)

BUT the laptop is new and the specific problem was from the beggining..

does anyone else have the same problem?

@SilverJigProductions Battery life, if no one answered you, if you are just surfing the web and doing office stuff in eco mode you can get a great 6+ hours out of it! Without eco mode running normal. Running games on the battery, now that's gonna kill you and the games won't run good on battery mode. But the battery life on this laptop is insane. Best I've had on a laptop.

@DeltaFalkon614 I don't know from any personal experience with THIS specific model, but I will say that IMO Toshiba builds the most reliable and toughest laptop out there (besides "rugged" laptops obviously) I have a L300 and I've dropped this thing from about 7 feet and it landed open face done (making a tent-like shape) and it was still on and unharmed in any way when I picked it up.. (DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.. haha) Toshiba's rock, so I can't see this one being crap..=]

@kikeronaldo Alienware is HIGHLY overrated. I just bought a Qosmio and it is hands down the best computer I've ever owned, better than even custom built desktops.

Yes, Alienware has gorgeous customizable high performance laptops but they really take people for their money. You are paying for the name, not the computer. The qosmio has the same hardware as a fully decked out Alienware for less than half the price. So yea, if you want a picture of an alien on your notebook, spend the extra $1000+

@FrankLampardd08 well, yea I made the mistake of buying a gaming laptop and half of the time I was to tired from studying and working that I didn't even have time for gaming. If you watch alot of movies though I recomend something with a good graphics card. ask around for that.

But if you are getting this one, get the least expensive version.

Well herest the thing you gotta know. I bought mine for 800 about a year and a half ago.

When you buy a gaming laptop you need a good amount of RAM. 4GBs of RAM will do. A good Intel processor either the I5 or the I7 processors. and a good graphics card. Try to set something like that up when you go on the "Make your own options"
