This is a not religious issue. I am not a Hindu but a Sikh. These people are fighting for culture and not religion. Although I think their approach is wrong but we need to see that they have a point.

West is culturally degraded in a way , why do you want ape it blindingly. Best thing is to learn rationality from west and family values from east. But we seem to be learning bigotry and promiscuity and alcoholism (Pub Culture) from west and irrationality from east.

Yes, some peope of some cultures are most fascinated by the lowest aspects of American culture. I don't know why.

For all the cultural heights that India has reached over the millenia, there are always many people in that culture who feel themselves to be low. There is still much meanness directed toward the poor and the lower classes.
