@dbgurl0109 ... There are about 35 of us, and we do over 100 shows a year outside of game days. We perform all year long, not just during football season.About a dozen gigs require that we all be there, but most of the time we go with about a 8-10 piece, for a couple reasons; 1) we all have normal jobs and we all can't get away that often 2) most all events have to pay for us to perform, just like the cheerleaders. (except charities & schools) and it costs more to pay for a larger group
@dbgurl0109 yep hes, right. all teams have a line about this big, but they kinda split up and play for the fans in a few smaller groups. then regroup for the field performance. check out my bears tailgate drumline vid. not as good as this one but its neat to see other teams if you like drumlines. hard to capture the audio of these drums, iphone can't do it any justice.
At the beginning of Sunday morning, before the game, various factions of Blue Thunder start in different locations, hitting up the watering holes along the way getting the fans pumped up. They ultimately converge at the south end of Qwest Field, then march up Occidental Ave. before bangin' out a few numbers outside the stadium grounds before moving on to the staircase, then onto the field and ultimately, their perch.
@shaun147852 Thanks Shaun we had a blast playing at the jam and definatlely playing with you guys. Keep up the good work and join us when you turn 21!!
@xBoose Thanks for making those haters look like idiots and we only practice 4hrs a week. Blue Thunder is not a drum corps. When are people gonna stop hating??
@drumlinedude42 Show me a drumline that has 35 players that's clean and only rehearses 3 to 4 hours a week......oh and learns about 20 tunes. If you're truly a "drumline dude" then you should respect whatever drum line is out there promoting percussion. What corps are you or did you march with?
Yea Im a big fan of show style bands. I like all the funk that hbcu schools got but Corp style precision is where it's at. Schools like Norfolk state and nc a&t have the perfect balance
seahawks!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELL YEA!!!!!!! i didnt kno pro teams even had lines! thats pretty tight, ill look them up nxt time im in Seattle. but heres all the drum corps u need to look at (ppl are forgetting sum good ones) -Blue Devils -Cavaliers -Phantom Regiment -Bluecoats -Cadets -Santa Clara Vangaurd -Boston Crusaders -Pacific Crest -Mandarins -Mystikal -Impulse
You can always find them pregame about 45 mins or so before the game on the north staircase at Qwest. Small pieces of the line also go around the local watering holes earlier than that and then they all hook up just north of Safeco and proceed north up Occidental before playing on the staircase.
well, i might not remember that since i live in So Cal and im not goin to seattle any time soon, plus all my friends in washington live in wenatchee so even if i go up there ill b watching the games on tv...:( but ill definatly tell everyone up there bout these guys!
Are we the 1st NFL team with a drumline? I think so. You know what sux? Our drumline gets zero exposure on tv and the networks, as they seem to hate us up here, pay zero attention. Keep rockin Thunder! I am a drummer too, and would love to play with you guys. Pretty tight stuff!
Yes. We are a Drum Line. But we get called everything from a band to a drill team. The largest and only professional drum line in the NFL (others are voluntary). No battery, no horns, no guard. We're cops, bartenders, lawyers, students, engineers, school teachers, etc. and range in age from 21 to 55. But we have lots of drum corps & college roots. Even a World Champion winner from the Santa Clara Vanguard on snare. Thanks for the post.
Nice chops Blue Thunder. Good job! You are not the only Professional Drumline in the NFL. Check out the new Atlanta Falcons Drumline on youtube as well. Enjoy!
Drum corps- Usually is a size of 135. Consists of a Battery section - drumline, Front Ensemble - pit instruments, Brass, and Guard.
A drumline is just a separate part. It could be a Drum Corps Drumline...or a HS drumline(part of marching band)...or a College drumline(part of marching band)...or WGI drumline...or for independent groups, but what you're watching isn't a Drum Corps, it's just a drumline.
Hope that clears things up. O and look up the Cavaliers or Santa Clara Vanguard.
drum corps is actually suposed to be used for only military drumlines but stupid people like hollywood directors (mostly the ones who directed drumline lol) started using it for all drumlines
so basically there was a difference but now there isnt
I would so love to do that. But im to loyal to my pats!!

What are you talking about?
Are you so retarded that you'll say stupid crap like "there was a difference but now there isn't".
OF course theres a difference. A major one at that.
The military had started drum corps when the VFW began Drum Corps but WAY BEFORE Drumline the movie, they split up and began DCI.
So I advise for anyone to look up the Blue Devils, the Cavaliers and Blue Coats.
