  • awesome!

  • what's the song?

  • @OficialHangar in the house in a hearbeat =)

  • Man this is immense! Really nice effects and camerawork, and if I'm not mistaken this was uploaded before CorridorDigital's Frozen Crossing Alpha, so they may have seen yours and been influenced, who knows. :)

  • @gamesmaster369 who knows ;)

  • @gamesmaster369 they told me they were inspired by my video ;)

  • I love 0:00 - 0:52!

    I hate 0:53..

  • @fallenpee wow

  • good, but not as good as CorridorDigital's Frozen Crossing: Alpha

  • @legofreak247 They disagree ;)

  • How did you make this effects its aseome

  • sunshine theme would have been a sick song to put in the background of this

  • my guess is you green screened all of the people at different angles and layered all of them on top of a background and then used action essentials for all of the muzzle flashes.

  • @MrWemakevid nope.... but good idea ;)

  • i'm preatty sure you got the idea from halo 3 believe teaser, anyway, the effects are awesome, how do you do that ?

  • @zenku41 yes i did..... we just had them hold really still.... btw..... if ud like to see more vids.... go to my NEW account.... this one was hacked a while back

  • what did u use to not move the camera even though some shots we're kind of compicated to do hand held?

  • @batatacreew I did some handheld.... and when I didn't I used my dolly

  • @unrenderedmedia u bought it or made it yourself? btw great work very creative

  • @batatacreew made it

  • did u used a dolly or a slider or steadicam?

    nice wrk

  • @MrScarghost141 dolly

  • halo 3, believe

  • Awesome video

  • @JRFILMWORKS thanx

  • Amazing !

  • halo

  • This is one of the most epic videos on YouTube. Even the VFX aren't perfect, the video itself is amazing. The art style is just so epic. Seems like a trailer for a videogame.

  • @TheFXGuy Thank you

  • okay anyway you cn give a break down on how to do this. you must have tons of gear or something too. i wish i was this advanced, i didnt go to film school though. need a mentor. any help. i just moved to la and i like this stuff.

  • this is fantastic, ive been trying to find how to do this. maybe i drink too much caffeine but theres no way i can stay that still in specific ways like that.

  • and this is a freeze frame stuff right?

  • like the rotate shot

  • at :38 was that a pic in the background and the closer guy was real?

  • @niemritz23 it's all real

  • its like the opening scene on swordfish when the metal beads bomb explodes outside the cafe...

  • please make a movie already it looks freakin awesome

  • I love it. but the trees gave it away haha

  • @heylookurdead i thought it were trees also...but...thats blood from the guy...se again ;)...

  • amazing

  • Looks amazing! Hollywood look out

    thank you..

    Nick A.

  • Very talented

  • how did u do this? im new sorry

  • that's fucking awesome

    sw33t :P

  • It's beautiful!

  • inspiration of the halo spot?

  • ohhh very nice shots and "freeze" technique, only the shot on 0:35 is little crisp, there are missing realistic shadow etc. anyway good work man

  • yeah thats the technique they use for the freeze shots in heroes

  • If i'm not mistaken you actually told people to freeze and not move while you moved the camera. I noticed that the movement of the camera had some slight stutters, so I guess that was either the track was not perfect or it was your footsteps and you stabilized the footage after. I also notice the hand of the guy being shot moving slightly while you moved the camera to the left; that's what gave it away. But I liked the subtle details of time freeze (the clip and the smoke). Good work :)

  • there you go.... Glad someone's starting to think outside the box

  • @deadbackman so my assumption is correct?

  • maybe ;)

  • @deadbackman Vary nice work...the only thing that gave it away was the trees moving due to the breez. Other than that...i dont think anyone would notice.

  • @PeterBZ you are correct, if you watch, the trees and stuff move some in the background

  • @deadbackman what was the name of the song?

  • @PeterBZ around 0:18 to 0:20 you could clearly see that the clip falling out of the pistol was tracked into the video. Okay. maybe not that clear. but look closely. overall, this is a nice vid. :)

  • @PeterBZ no need to bash his work so what if all he did was walk around a guy a few times when they werent moving ull find a way to get over it cause its probably bettter than u can do

  • @PUDxXET are you retarded? how did I bash his work lol?

  • @PeterBZ Relax guys... Thanx for the views ;)

  • nice. i love how ppl beg for tuts for almost every fx shot posted online now. hahahaha. keep up the good work!! Nice! wait i already typed that. lol.

  • ha...true

  • @deadbackman could you make a downloadable file with all youre most used film stuff, eg sound effects and songs and mayby special effects. please. youre work is so great i want to nik some of it.

  • @rockmysocksification sorry.... i can't

  • Camera Projection

  • Nope

  • Camera Projection :)

  • sorry, but no

  • i am still completely confused on how u did this! >:(

  • don't stress urself out on it... it's very simple

  • stop taunting me... help me out? :)

  • just break it down, think of how people do it in the movies and find a similar yet cheaper way, you'd be surprised what You can think of

  • i found a method called "bullet-time" and "timeslice" is that wat u used?

  • no....those are very complicated and expensive methods, though even more effective

  • so what method did u use?

  • HOw do you move the camera so smothly? something with wheels????

  • ups, i now know!!!!!! Motion stabilization???

  • nope....I have a homemade dolly

  • a skateboard maybe

  • wow thats really cool.

  • really reminds me of that halo 3 commercial. mostly when the guy opens his eyes at the end.

  • this is crazy awesome

  • Did you do this all in After Effects with Camera mapping or a 3d program with mapping? Very nice!

  • All I can say it amazing. Also what song did you use?

  • wow that's absolutely amazing!!!

  • pretty nicely done. I'm impressed.

  • How do you do this!

  • i know what u meant...I ws just messin with u....check out the Visual FX breakdown in the Related videos on the right

  • oh thanks man, one more thing, im pretty sure your good wit explosions, so i thought id ask you. i use action essentials two, but my explosions always look 2D. how do you make them look so good

  • just keep tweakin them....lots and lots of layers....it's all about how u composite them

  • a tutorial mabey? in the long run,if you have tme. but what do yo mean by tweaking them, just take the same clip and put them in different angles on the clip? just record yourself making one of these vids if anything. agin, if you want.

  • it's a lot of just trial and error....layer after layer...good luck

  • well can you atleast tell me where you learned to do all of this? that would be just as good.

  • Internet....self taught pretty much...just creative thinking....

  • how!

  • what! :)

  • This is gorgeous!

  • wow, how did you make that? Thw zooming part and every thing. Did you guys just freeze or did you cut out the persons and freeze the images.

  • halo 3 believe trailer inspired?

  • maybe ;)

  • really nice ;), ( ACTION ESSENTIALS 2 ?) it looks pretty proffesional.

  • amazing work man. definitely earned a subscribe :)

  • thanx man.....ur stuff is pretty tight also

  • @deadbackman thanks! i am hoping to do have more videos soon with some great VFX, but i guess we will see how that goes! haha anyways awesome work again

  • let me guest,,, that was a picture ryt? you made it 3d

  • for this did you get everybody to hold still while you filmed?? or did you take HD pics and animate across them??

  • watch the breakdown

  • @deadbackman

I watched the breakdown. that didn't explain how it was done. I just saw the effects taken out of it. :(

  • semantics.....

  • orgasmic!

  • that was so good! :)

  • They have used a robot camera to make that movie.

The Philips Carousel Commercial is an amazing master-piece.

And you done your movie with just a homemade dolly! That's something amazing!

  • watch?v=lQ3D4CqHbJM

  • seen it already....was the inspiration

  • Amazing, which dolly was used?

  • homemade

  • Do you mind sharing how much it cost, or PM me instructions online? Thanks a lot, deadbackman!

  • a little over $100, but it all depends on how u put it together.....Google it....U'll find plenty of tutorials online....Even check on youtube...

  • Thanks a lot, really appreciate the help!

  • how to find it on google?

help me... we have a film making class... can i have ur email add?

  • look to the right on related videos it's called Dead Land (VISUAL FX BREAKDOWN)

  • @deadbackman thnx

  • is this inspired by the halo 3 tv spot by any chance? Looks really nice, may i ask how you got your dolly shots so smooth and how you got the people to act so still?

  • I used my dolly which is smooth and everyone just held real still for me

  • You should do some tutorials. This stuff is amazing!

  • how did you do that?

  • VERY COOL

  • It looks really nice. One of my favorite videos of yours.

  • what video soft ware do u use

  • BLOODY HELL!! =O

    This is INCREDIBLE!!!

I hope you dont mind me asking, but what type of camera re you using for the film?

    -matt

  • HVX-200

  • very nice. but at the end when he opens his eyes, you should have made it 1-2 seconeds longer

  • thanx, but it's exactly how it's suppose to be. It adds to the mystery.

  • where do u learn how tto do the effects? andrew kramer?

  • aWEsOm3

  • Gr8 job !

  • This is awesome, just there where is the clip and the blood you can see a bad motion track, but still really cool.

  • You're killin it Nick.

  • is that good?

  • It's exceptional.

  • ONLY exceptional...lol

  • That was AMAZING. Fantastic choice of music. 28 Days=MINT. John Murphy is a genius. But the video with that was fantastic, the still frame mise-en-scene was great. I really can't express in words how fantastic that video is!

  • dayamn man, nice work, lemme guess, the side by side camera trick that the wachowski brothers did for the matrix movies? Either way your videos are awesome, i'm surprised that your not a youtube partner yet, your really good with this stuff.

  • that is just amazing!

  • This is very good man!

  • Once again I think this looks really good, keep it up!

  • amazing!

  • great video keep up the good job

  • awesome music !!!!

  • This is awesome!!!

  • Nice tracking!!! sick!

  • realease date?

Are you going to make a dvd of this if its good enough?

  • WOW. Brilliant tracking!

  • how did you do this?

  • very carefully...

  • but like how its obviously how still photos so what did u use?

  • not still photos..... you'll find out eventually

  • can you say anything on how you did it, i use after effects but have no clue

  • like I said... you'll see, I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise

  • my guess would be tell ur actors to be very still, turn it into a "3d picture" using a tut over at videocopilot. then have some (very beautifully done may i say) tracking of a few smoke, blood, and muzzle flash elements.

  • maybe ;)

  • well, i didnt notice this till after i commented, but the trees do infact move in the background at regular speed while ur actors are frozen, either way, i cant wait for this movie. looks pretty tight, so when is an expected date?

  • wow!! pro!!
