@friedstuffable I thoroughly believe Pat Tillman was murdered for political reasons. He had an extremely closed shot group of 3 in his forehead. The shots came from approx. 70 yards away to a target that was uphill. The docs said the shots came from an M249 SAW. I would like to meet the guy or guys that could hit such a small target from such a distance AND angle is such a short amount of time with a SAW. 1 shot to the head would bring him down. He had 3. It coulda have been set up for ambush, IEDs, or any type of trap that could have easily taken us out. Going into a building for a mission regardless of the circumstances is always risky and daring. Because you never know what the outcome could be. In this case, it was a very successful mission without any resistance or casualties.
It's pretty hilarious people actually believed the video was legit. So sad how easily propaganda can be pushed around but I guess the mindset of the time...well, we see what that was like.
I don't care what ppl say is the reason or who was behind getting her SAFE, if it was by chance fairly "easy" and no enemy combatants great! if not great! SHE IS SAFE!!!!!! that's what counts fuck the rest......

@friedstuffable I thoroughly believe Pat Tillman was murdered for political reasons. He had an extremely closed shot group of 3 in his forehead. The shots came from approx. 70 yards away to a target that was uphill. The docs said the shots came from an M249 SAW. I would like to meet the guy or guys that could hit such a small target from such a distance AND angle is such a short amount of time with a SAW. 1 shot to the head would bring him down. He had 3. So the shots had to be simultaneous.

Jackson, were pushed through the system because the Bush administration needed X amount of soldiers, or else they would have fired up the draft again. I have to commend PFC Lynch for her service. No doubt. I guess I'm pissed off at the system for exploiting her the way they did. The Drill Sergeants told us if they had their way, Jessica Lynch would never have passed Basic Training. That was a huge flaw in the system during the Bush years. I should have been more tactful when I stated that earlier. My bad. But if she really had integrity, she would have denounced the story from the get go. Understand that I'm still very skeptical about what the government tells me. First Pat Tillman was a war hero, then we find out that it was a covered up fratricide, and if you look at the details, it's easy to conclude he was murdered. First she fought in battle, then it comes out she didn't fire her weapon, and THEN it comes out the rescuers could have walked in and got her, but there was a one hour delay because the camera crew wasn't ready. Do you see why I have a hard time believing it?

I spent lots of time in that city during that time and was actually in the vehicle the guy came up to pointing across the river saying Americee. He came walking up behind my vehicle and I had my scouts check him out. We weren't actually a checkpoint but were just on patrol when we started taking fire from across the river. Ended up staying in that position for a while and the hospital was behind the hostel building. The hero's in her convoy fought to the death, the others captured.

at least she admits to not being a hero.. Well for one she didn't have a gun she had a rifle either an M16 or an M4 service rifle. If her rifle did jam which is probably true, there is a simple way of un-jamming it. One is called "Tap, Rack, Bang" which is simply tapping(or smacking) the bottom of the magazine to get any rounds un-stuck, than racking the bolt back to eject that round, and bang is for simply firing the weapon.

18 marines were killed in the ensuing battle, at least 17 of which were killed by fratricide in the form of two A10 Warthogs mistaking marines for enemy forces.

There was one track that was taken out by 2 RPG strikes though. I believe that the 18 were all from 1/2 which saw the majority of the fight. 2D LAR C CO and 3/2 got a little too as well as 2D LAR BN proper that got in the battle of the coil just north of the city. The HMFIC of the Nasiriyah milita and army said that they didn't know the differance between Army and Marines or Maint convoy's and Infantry. They did the initial attack to show Sadaam that they were willing to fight but with the success of the attack on the 507TH they though they had a chance thus resisting when Marines showed up.

It coulda have been set up for ambush, IEDs, or any type of trap that could have easily taken us out. Going into a building for a mission regardless of the circumstances is always risky and daring. Because you never know what the outcome could be. In this case, it was a very successful mission without any resistance or casualties.
