  • I don't know how to read lute tablature and that is the only scores I could find. Does anyone have this piece in standard notation?

  • @sledprepin

Reading lute tablature is really easy. Look for Wayne Cripps lute site, there is a page on how to read lute tabs.

    Good luck !

    Val

  • I think I mentioned a long time ago that this piece is a favorite of mine--and didn't you record it earlier on with the rest of the suite? Anyway, there are now several versions on YouTube, and they are variously too bland or too slow or just generally lacking the sprightliness of this version. Thanks, Val!

  • Ciao Val... just discovered you searching for Dalza Piva I first heard on Angelo Branduardi's Futuro Antico V. Really wonderful! And it's a great emotion to see it played.... you can enjoy music more watching magic hands flying on instruments... Thanks for posting!

  • Thank you ;-) I'm happy if this music please you.

    Val

  • Thanks, Val. That was lovely. I wish somebody would record a full CD of Dalza's lute music. Maybe they think it's too risky. :-)

  • Thanks to you,

About Dalza I think someone already done a Dalza's music CD. I have to look for the name...

  • Val - I know I've commented on this before but I've just listened to this again (and again) - it makes me SO happy!!! Particularly on a cold and snowy night.

    Merci!

    Brian

  • Will yo post it one day ?

    Val

  • I doubt it Val .... it'll take me a long time to reach that tempo. Maybe when I'm 90!

  • I'm sorry. I was wrong!! but very rithmical!!

    Val

  • Bravo, cher Val ! Superbe, comme toujours ! Merci beaucoup !

    Merci Roger !

    Amitiés,

    Val-et de Coeur ;-)

  • beautiful job. here in italy, in the north, piva is the name of a bagpipe. if follows that it's also the name of a renaissance dance ... which in turn, produces toe-tapping contadini!

  • Hi Bill, I'll like to see you dancing on Dalza's piva ;-)

    Val

  • Thank you again for demonstrating the timelessness of good music.

  • Thanks for listening and commenting ;-)

    Regards,

    Val
