  • This is some fucked up shit!

  • incredible film.

  • When I was a kid I went to the theaters to see this movie and every time the spirit with the white mask appeared I told my mom I had to go to the bathroom as an excuse.

  • one of the best anime there is today

  • I LOVE THIS.3

  • My brother hates animes but he is in love with this movie.

  • Who in the GREAT GHIBLI disliked this??? This is my favorite movie!!! Just because it's not glamorous doesn't mean it's shit. wow.

  • Yuu-Baba created 97 Youtube accounts.

  • wow i bet my dad all my money (45,000 dollars) that the movie was called new house.........im fucked up

  • @telekinesisgirllo what 9 year old girl has that much money

  • I remember crying because I didn't want my parents to turn into pigs. Also it really did scare the living shit out of me.

  • I seriously did not know this was a Disney movie. Good job Disney.

  • @jilijub no Disney only ask the creator if he would be interested in trying to bring Spirited Away to an American audience.

  • wow for the past 3 weeks i have been trying to figure out the name of this movie

  • this movie is amazing <3 but this trailer was terrible.

  • yoooooooo this movie was too much for me to handle! it was so frustrating!

  • i saw that movie some years ago and i want to see it again now that i'm older, because i didn't understand much at the time. this movie is stuck in my head since then..

  • best animated film.

  • I love Princess Mononoke :D Omgeee. Lmao

  • @SassySarinooo I don't know. I found mononoke too long. I liked Castle in the Sky better.

  • :D

  • the boy;s voice sounds like Noel from ff13-2 lol

  • I saw this movie when I was six. It was the trippiest movie I'd ever seen. We're watching it in English class. Now that I'm older, I understand the beauty of this movie. It's still the trippiest movie I've ever seen.

  • My favorite movie!!! I just say Princess Mononoke today as well, tis glorious

  • I first saw this movie when I was 10 years old. I had no idea what it was about. Needless to say I had the shit scared out of me. After the film my parents asked me what I thought of it. My response...

    "BEST FILM EVER!"

Ten years later, I still hold to that statement.

  • How old is this movie? O.o ....ahh like 10 years?? just askin

  • @MrPsychokiller69 It came out in English in 2001

  • @MissHockeyChick98 ahh oh okay, thanks Chick

  • Japanese movies in English are so awful!! This movies amazing in Japanese. The English just takes away from its originality! Just my opinion!

  • @JayDolce Didn't this come out in english? Oh well. I agree. But for this movie, I found the english voices charming, which worked.

  • T remember watching this at my grandmas house. RIP Eleanor, we miss you.

  • Ahh .. watching this brings back so many childhood memories!! Great movie. :)

  • Omg i saw this movie when i was 4 ! i was so excited to see the comments and how all of you saw this when ya was small and ya got scared like i did ;'''( im even crying how i cant believe i found this movie iv been trying to fing it for 5 years lmao and im 14 now..

  • oh i remember this... i was a little kid when i saw this x)

  • this movie freaked me the fuck out when I was little haha

  • best cartoon movie EVER!

  • I LOVED this movie when I was little. I also loved Howl's Moving Castle and Princess Mononoke! Cartoonetwork really needs to bring back toonami. These movies were my childhood and I feel like a lot of the younger generation are missing out. Japanese people are great script writers.

  • HA-Y-AA-O Woot.

  • I miss these movies.

  • im watching this in 500 BC , on my iStone.

  • Oh god! I watched it as I was 9 or sth. I loved it so much! Oh, memories.. Well, wutevaaa. ;) Just wunderful.

  • trailer gives away the whole damn thing...good movie though

  • I watched this movie a hundred times .. and I still love this movie .. I never get bored watching it all over again .. this is my best anime movie .

  • my 7th grade Japanese teacher showed me this for the first time, I fucking love you Ms. Pope <3

  • this was my childhood moviee!!

  • Japanese film, like Spirited Away, tends to have a low frame rate and some moments of silence and calm compared to the action filled American movies. A lot of people think Japanese movies suck because of this, but for me, the silence brings calm and peace for you to absorb the more in depth and less shallow messages that Miyazaki is trying to portray in this film. This movie should be a classic for all it represents.

  • Best movie ever. Likee really, watched this as a little one.

  • This film was released in America in 2001, not 2002.

  • I had a BIGGGGG CRUSH ON HAKU!!!!

    And I still have lol

  • this is definitely one of the weirdest movies i've ever seen

  • This movie is the reason that I could watch more anime on TV because anime had a negative image in my country, this movie proved them wrong and anime will never be banned here!

  • OMG I LUVED thz movie it was 1st studio ghibli movie

  • Haiyow.. lol wh..? They can atleast attempt to pronounce it right.

  • .-. ainda não entendo porque no brasil é " a viagem de chihiro " ç_ç

  • its been 11 years since i last saw this movie. im gonna watch it again :D

  • 2:22 what soundtrack

  • ive watched this like 2000 times still awesome! :D

  • ah, I love this movie <3

  • i remember when i watched this when i was 8, never got so freaked out in my life. 7 years later and i wanna watch it again

  • i wonder what would've happened if she turned around when haku told her not to turn around

  • Princess Mononoke will always be my favorite but this was a very good film.

  • when i was young this scared the crap outta me lol

  • I have this movie and I have not watched it in 7 years lol

  • is he done making movies like these?

  • this movie scared the shit out of me

  • @45678ret same lol

  • @45678ret Same, the part where No face was eating...fucking Hell :O.

  • @45678ret how? :)

  • @45678ret just what I'd expect from retarded people that can't open there minds

  • Hayao Miyasaki, Mamoru Hosoda and Makoto Shinkai should join themselves to creat a movie.

  • I am form the distant future. Now watching this in the year 3000

  • First time I saw this, I was scared shitless.

Second time I saw it, I fell in love with it :)

  • So much Disney!

Haku is voiced by the same person who voices kovu in lion king 2

Chihero is voiced by Lilo from lilo and stitch

Lin is voiced by Megara from Hercules

And I'm sure there r so many more but thats just a few. So awesome :)

  • I can't find the movie on youtube. D:

  • @idkmybffjoejonas01 Why use youtube? There's sooo many other sites that let you watch it. Geeze.

  • @spector2ifi I found a link on myspace. :D ahaha. xD

  • omg i watched this when i was like 7 and it scared the crap outta me and now that i see the trailer it wasnt that scary :p lol

  • Studio Ghibli was 100% GREAT! But most of the movies always have sad ending. . Like how she should walk away without turning back to Haku in spirited away; He died because too much sadness for his lost of his younger sister in Grave of Fireflies; Had to go away with family from her new lover because she is a borrower while the boy she like is a normal human being in The Borrower Arriety; Have to live own life because a girl and a cat is impossible to be a lover in the cat returns, etc

  • This is an awesome movie, but when i saw it a few weeks ago again, i realized that the voice actor is none other than Jason Marsden! He voices some of the nords in Skyrim, THE greatest videogame of all time lol

  • First saw this on Toonami, good times :)

  • I usually HATE anime. But I remember watching this when I was little and now I like it.

  • i LOVE this movie. i remember how she almost forgot her name! my gosh i miss these types of things that made growing up so great.

  • I grew up with this movie ^_^

  • This movie ROCKED!! :D

  • This one of the most amazing studio ghilbi films!

  • I don't like animation(it isn't my genre) , but I think this movie will be an exception. I'm looking forward to watch it for the first time.

  • I'm watching this in 2012. PROVES that this movie was great!

  • @XShadow333X I watched this in 2012 too. I seriously once thought Akira was probably the best animated film I've ever watched. Then Spirited Away came and spirited me away.

  • Best movie ever!

    Aisiteruuuuuu

  • awesome! i just finish downloading it.

  • my childhood <3

  • I can just say that this movie is beautiful.

  • This is literally my favorite animated film. Ever.

  • I watched this on VCR when I was little... I couldn't finish it. Too scary back then, but I want to watch it now. Too bad the VCR broke.

  • You need to see this film in Japanese... It is possibly the best foreign language film you can EVER watch.

  • First disney film with blood

  • This film is love.

  • im 13 and i love this movie!!! it rocks. wish we could of seen what happened between chihiro and haku later on.

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE.

I havent seen it in about 6 years though ]:

  • They need to show this movie more often, or I need to find out where to buy it! This was literally my favorite movie for such a long time, but then it just disappeared and I finally found it again!

  • I'm going to have to side with @TheTheDeclaration, based solely on the fact that he can quote his grandpa verbatim.

  • cutest movie

  • This is my chance for top comment!!!!! xD

  • @TheTheDeclaration

    U Mad bro?

  • I saw this when I was in elementary school and had never seen anything like it. This seriously tweaked my little mind.

  • This movie is beautiful. I adore Haiku and Chihiro's relationship, especially the ending. It makes me cry.

  • Best movie ever :D

  • a, I too have been looking for it for a few years now. Best anime I have ever seen.

  • This sort of looks scary 0____o

  • @theKMMcrew

    You

    MUST SEE

    this

  • I've been looking for this movie for forever!

  • In addition, I just want to impart some words of wisdom my grandpa(a WWII vet!) imparted to me when I was young, and a fool who forked over 200 dollars for the complete series of Neon Genesis Evangelion as well as the two movies. Which by the way, sucked and made know sense. I WANT MY MONEY BACK WIZARD REVIEWER!

"Don't try to understand the Japanese. They belong to a bizarre culture that's way out there and beyond rational, logical, and reasonable thinking. They are the other."-- My Grandpa

  • @TheTheDeclaration Evangelion makes complete sense. The fact you cannot comprehend it does not make it a bad series, it just means it's clearly too hard for you. I suggest starting with easier series like Harry Potter and Curious George. Leave this kind of stuff for the big kids.

  • @oloompop Pretending that you know what it means, does not make know what it means, or make you a big kid. Please check out Confused Matthew's Purple Monkey Dishwasher. Anyone can put up a random picture on the screen and anyone can make questions about it.

Also, Harry Potter AND Curious George are much better written than EVA, because they have CHARACTERS and STORIES to tell. Not just blank anime doll vessels and tears in the rain and FORCED CATHARSIS.

  • @oloompop Finally, I just want to recommend a book, not just to you, but any other wapanese retard who heralds shitty Japanese cartoons as some sort of "high art" over western comics and animation. That book is Watchmen. I also recommend Asterios Pollyp, Maus, and Will Eisner's New York. Probably haven't heard of those because your nose is too deep in those silly Naruto books. Have you? Once again, western civilization TRIUMPHS in the arts and sciences! AMERICA FUCK YEAH!

  • @TheTheDeclaration I've read all of them. Your silly assumptions and generalizations just make you look like an idiot.

  • @TheTheDeclaration Also, bashing all Anime in general, and an entire culture really speaks to your ignorance and insane narcissism. Patriotism is an idiotic idea, and people like you are laughable. The fact you have nothing better to do with your time is frankly rather pathetic, and the fact you are even alive is a testament to the idea society won't be getting better any time soon. Thanks for reaffirming my disappointment in the general populace.

  • @TheTheDeclaration Which is what makes everyone unique.

  • Americans! You have been gyped! (Or should I say, JAPPED! :p) Spirited Away was nothing more than a random, incoherent gibbering, beautifully animated mess!

Just search "confused matthew spirited away"

Please check out this review, and please, please, PLEASE never give the Japanese another Oscar again.

Seriously, the Japanese are incapable of telling stories due to their nonsensical language. I just wanted to let you guys know this.

  • @TheTheDeclaration bigot dumbfuck

  • @sTapleEVA I'm not a racist, that's what's so insane about this!

    -- The Declaration

  • @TheTheDeclaration just jealous Japanese can make a story that is not generic and also make the best animations.

  • @rebornl Anime is the most generic genre/medium/artform/whateverthefuckitis since broadway theater. All animes are the same, and they are all crap. -random events that could charitably be described as a "plot" -tentacle rape -Characters who have bright blue/pink/green hair and interchangable faces -horrible, wooden dialogue -tentacle rape -pedophilia -schoolgirl outfits -convoluted, illogical storylines -ancient demons inhabiting magical swords -androgynous, whiny man-boys -girls

  • @rebornl Also, I'm not jealous, I'm angry. Why did Lilo & Stitch not win? That movie was charming, cute, had a lot of heart, and most of all, ORIGINAL. That was anything but generic. And if you're going to play the "OH BUT ANIMES IS SO DARKER AND SERIUS!!11!^_^" card, please search "Tales of the Black Freighter". It is adapted from a comic book called "Watchmen", which are both LEAGUES beyond all anime. Just goes to show you what Western Animation is like when not held back.

  • @rebornl One more thing. You praise this movie because of it's "WOW SO AWESOME ANIMATION!" Big fucking deal, if I had a ton of money and a bunch of starving underpaid animators, I too, like Miyazaki, could make a shitty story look awesome to bunch of morons, slap my name all over it, and steal an Oscar. Pretty pictures do not make up for shitty storytelling. Look at Avatar. As Pixar said, "story is king."

What does Lilo and Stitch have that Spirited Away doesn't? A good story.

  • I love this so much <3

I was sad though when it was in the end and Haku told her not to turn around...

Good bye to that world forever :'c

  • i have been looking for this movie my whole life..... i finally found it..... GOD i love this movie..... :D

  • LOVEEEEEEEE

  • god i love this movie

  • @TristnaCaley

I see your point they need to Bring the old Disney back

  • This one should be seen in Japanese with subtitles.

  • This is pure Disney, (okay maybe it was Japan.. but I'm talking about Snow White, Cinderella) How did it turn into teen crap like comedy shows? Spirited Away was one of the best movies ever and it's just history. Does anyone agree?

  • At South Korea, there's this one store with a lot of Miyazaki stuff and I saw a plush of the mouse knitting. I wanted to get it was it was too expensive... BEST MOVIE EVER!

  • my mom bought this for me when I was like 8 maybe, and me and my brother watched it, and I started to cry when that black ghostthingy ate the people and the frog and stuff O_O

  • this movie is actually so freaky

  • @SweetyYumYum ya but its good..

  • When I was like 6 or 7, my babysitter brought this movie over and watched it with me. It creeped me out cause Id never seen a japanese movie but now I know its very beautiful!

  • One of my fave Miyazaki films -3 I feel like they reveal too much in the trailer though ^^

  • I love this movie, even though it's SO random! ;)

  • ANIME RULES

  • This film is amazing. It moved me to tears....

  • Shut the fuck up you weebos its good in english and japanese dub. God these guys are on every anime video on youtube I swearr .

  • I prefer to watch it in Japanese with eng subs, definitely more terrifying and exciting

  • The black caped guy....he terrified me!

  • i love this movie but whenever he goes i will distract them i go how by blowing glass pedals

  • Anouncer: In a world where announcer dudes ruin movie trailers, one little girl shall save the day.

Little girl: The evil too dramatic announcer will kill us all if we don't do something! We must fight back!

Anouncer: It will take courage, skill, and friendship to stop the forces of darkness and save the day

    THE GIRL WHO SAVED TRAILERS!

staring some people that you probably wont reconize

Coming soon to a theater near you!

  • @TheOmgwtfproductions No, it wasn't made by disney... Disney just took it and made it, you know, into the movie. Like Ponyo, it was made by Miyazaki, but Disney took it and I think you would say published it(..?) Yeah...

  • this was made by disney! holy shit!

  • Dear Lord... I remember watching this as a kid. Always loved that movie, now its time to get nostalgic!
