@3timeMVPNash Nah, he had better matches. Even though this was a kill, this year US Open against Juan Monaco was much more intense I think. I think we tend to say this is much more massive because is Nadal on the other side.
AO 2009 Final was, for me, the best match of Federer.
@scienceisknolwedge How was that match his best? He lost 6-2 in the final set. The best match he has ever played has to be either the AO2007 semi, the Masters Cup 2006 final, or this brilliant match.
@3timeMVPNash No, no, no. I understand what you say - but look in a different way. Federer wouldn't have been so great if Nadal didn't exist - he probably would have dominated for longer period and gpt more titles and records.
Federer and Nadal grow together, by playing each other - that rivalry set a new tennis level in history. We've never seen such tennis before.
That's why I say AO 2009 was the best match. (for me of course)
@scienceisknolwedge I don't quite get what you are saying. Federer would have been even greater had Nadal not existed - he would have won the French in 05, 06, 07, 08, and 11, he would have won 6 straight Wimbys, and he would have had a 5th AO. If not for Nadal, Fed would have 7 more Slams just like Roddick would have multiple Slams if not for Federer.
@3timeMVPNash We don't measure a player only for the number of grands slams he won, but also by the tennis he played. Federer is much better then Sampras because he showed much more skill in court, not because he got more grand slams. Federer forced Nadal to be better to be able to be Nº1 - Nadal forced Federer to play better to maintain his domination. If Nadal didn't come up Federer would not need to play such tennis.
Being a Federer fan, this match was just so satisfying

The greatest match Federer has ever played, maybe not just vs Nadal, but ever.

@scienceisknolwedge for Roger's fans. it is impossible. Since Roger from 2008 has declined clearly. old of age. or illness. etc. his cause
