  • only caadians and detroiters knew what he meant

  • Burton Cummings has to be one of the finest keyboard players in rock music. Incredible style! Doesn't get nearly enough credit for his musicianship. Love this song.

  • Love this Guess Who concert DVD! This should be in EVERBODY's collection!!

  • The rest are great but at last someone put up Bannantne cheers

  • I like this this style of piano playing very much. Also his little bit country-like voice fits perfect. I think the piano sounds more like a elctric piano (CP80..) anybody knows why?

  • @cenergen Because Yamaha makes great electric pianos

  • oh yeah,Randy Bachman ladies and gentleman

  • guess who should be played radio hauraki this is real music

  • Incredible! Love my rock and roll

  • Foghat and The Guess Who rule. Period. The Beatles and The Rolling Stones are like Bar-bra Waltters on ice.

  • @bwho And you're like stupid only with less personality.

  • @kurtizzyflush My, aren't we both clueless and hateful all at the same time? Swallow that Snicker's bar whole and come up fighting for five, moron.

What, are you in love with Bar-bra Waa-Waa or something? Or you absolutely hate that Foghat is the best band in the history of rock. Or you disagree and believe that The Guess Who is the best rock band in the history of rock and roll? What is it? Which is it? Be specific, please.

  • isn't a note Burton can play on piano,I can't play twice as fast on guitar!

  • @Syzygy60 Not too bad for a boy from the back streets of Winnipeg!

  • I get it

  • Burton Cummings has created many many songs that can only be classified as exquisite This is one of them. Thank you for the music, Mr. Cummings.

  • I wholeheartedly agree with belladonna and while we're at it, let's add BTO to our wish list!

  • man it seems like yesterday , when I was young , lol , but still love the boys from canada

  • OMG awesome

  • We got there early and had no idea so many people were behind us. We were in the 10th row, right in front of the piano keyboards and watched him play for hours. We looked over our shoulders and saw the Albert Flasher banner a few times. They finally played the song after an hour or so. They had no choice. They kept putting the banner up...and cheering "ALBERT--ALBERT"...This concert was like 2 hours long.

  • @JeffTheCanuck2 omg that is awesome! i really wish they would suck it up and do another tour for my generation who never had the chance to see them in concert, i'm 26 and from winnipeg and these guys are like my heros :P

  • @JeffTheCanuck2 Where was this concert? Reunion = Winnipeg?

  • @BurtonPMorrison It was a the CNE Bandstand...Bandshell? I think it was called back then. Lake Ontario's breeze can be seen at certain points.

  • burton truly had one of the best sounds of the 70s, one ofmy fave bands, and so may songs of theirs,

  • nothin better then Canadian rock&roll,

  • I have always loved this song

  • I was 13 in 7th grade. Gawd what memories. This group was so hot!!!!

  • Such an underrated group. Ah this brings back the ol' days. That piano, that voice! OMG, be still my heart.

  • Foot tapping feel good music for sure!

OMG I was 30 when this was filmed!

  • Saw those guys at Towson State back in 72' went to the concert barefoot...those were the days

  • Enjoyed these guys in concert @ the anaheim convention center.John Kay opened for them.1972.

  • Wow what a performance! Unreal. I would have been going berserk had I been in the crowd.

  • Yeah man, I was 10-14 feet from his piano. Best concert I've ever seen...hands down.

  • Wow, I just love this song. Just listen to that talent. Back in the 60s, 70s and 80s everyone had awesome music.

  • I went to high school in Winnipeg with Randy Bachman (Guess Who) and just down the road a guy named Neil Young used to play. We were only 16-18 years old and we seemed to know something.

  • @Dan77able Dude. The 90s were great to, and a while ago I hear some really good 2000s too. Good music will always be made, it's just not always immidiatly recognized.

  • Sorry I hurt feelings, take it easy, I was curious about name and googled it and seemed like a very creditable source, maybe they had the hangover part wrong, shoot me I'm not the piano player.

  • WHAT A WEASELLLLLL

  • WHAT A WEASELL

  • Randy Bachman was at a radio station interview one a.m. w/a hangover, and whenver the station/DJ came back from a commercial, a red light would flash saying "ALERT FLASHER" and Bachman couldn't get it out of his mind all day, and him and Burton wrote this song.

  • watch your tongue, randy's never had a drink in his life,,,he was about the music and the business of music ,nothing more,he couldn't care less about the sex, drugs part of rock'n roll,or don't you know he's a mormon--do your homework tatnell 1,good way to disrespect one of music's" good boy's"

  • Burton and the rest of the boys had a good thing going back in the day.

  • i alwayss thought burton had the best voice ever.......... thnx for the post

  • who is Albert Flasher ?

    offtap[brother]

  • beautiful canadian talent

  • The man has talent. Is there a name for the style of piano he's playing in this song?

  • I think it's rag time

  • I'm gonna be 48 and I remember these guys growing up with 5 older brothers. I have all their old Beatles and Jimi Hendrix LPs

  • we're any of us ever really that young?

    ha

    jimmy

  • hard to believe isnt it, lol . im 52 going on 18 :) lol this was the best music ever

  • The Guess Who....One of the most UNDERRATED bands of all-time. Word up....

  • There is nothing out there that even comes close to The Guess Who.This band was made of real music and not the crap we hear on the radio these days.

  • @lizzardfreak1025 Not wrong maaaate ! The Guess Who had the "je ne sais quoi{?) that kept the author sane whilst other kids "melted" on LSD. Not sayin' never tried the acid- did but didn't like the buzz. Anyways - a cool band !

  • So what if Burton Cummings' voice has changed? Big deal. He still rocks!

Burton Cummings is in my top ten of favourite singers.

  • Freinds of mine is also great

  • Yes! I agree. Well said!

  • Burton Cummings = talent.

Ughhh why can't society REALIZE this?!

...because Rihanna is the shit!! *eye-roll* no really though, she is shit. haha

I love when it was about the music, this is what TALENT sounds like people!

  • i have concert on dvd great to see burton at his best, also that singlr when it was released flip side was " broken" another song i really enjoy.

  • Has he ever not been at his best? The guy is almost better now than ever, he is unreal. What a voice! Thats what keeping the touring at a minimum will do.

  • I have to disagree, Burtin had a Great voice back then. I'm not knocking him he is still Great ! But I do remember the good old days.

  • I thought in 2001 that he sang 'These Eyes' better than ever, but that was 8 years ago, I don't know, he seems to somehow sound better all the time.

  • hahahaha 1:50!! wtf?

  • its all in good fun, you can see Burton laughing afterward, just someone who loves to preform!!

  • burton has an amazing voice! gah so awesome. he's like an underappreciated freddy.

  • Burton Cummings, no one better.

  • My favorite Burton / Guess Who song done to perfection. Sure Burton's voice has changed in 40 years, but he still kicks ass even today. How many can you say that about.

  • besides neil diamond, i dont think there is anyone's voice that i love more than burtons, amazing group from the 70s and he is still awesome

  • God they so good!

  • That was fantastic, period.

  • What a voice. What a legend.

  • Wohooooo....Awesome!!!! 5***** post! CanEhdian, Eh!....Oh Yeah! Gotta love it!

  • Have you heard Jukebox, a Bachman Cummings album released a little while back. Standout songs, Don't Talk To Him and Yeh, Yeh. Burton's sounds every bit as good as he did back when he was singing Clock On The Wall. Take a look at the other posts Harry. They are saying the exact opposite of what you are. So take off, hosehead, er... punk.

  • he was great here..but, no voice has changed so much over 60 like Burton's. A shame.

  • I was at the reunion tour in Winnipeg and it was.....awesome. the concert was delayed but they kept the beer lines open and when they came back on stage it was magical.

  • burtons voice hasnt changed thru the decades, he is still awesome..... love hearing him

  • this guy IS a phenom. Burton is the most amazing stage performer I have personally ever come across and his voice is perfect too, he is rock n roll.

  • Yep.

  • agree; something wrong with guitar player's track.

  • The guy was a PHENOM. I always tell people that this was my favorite concert back in the day. People today don't even remember his name. He could do it.

  • hatchetwounder! listen to the guess who!! they are amazing!!

  • OK, folks. There's that pervert "hatchetwounder" again! Name kinda makes you scared, doesn't it!? How do we get him/her banned? Free speech is one thing, but this is abuse!

On a lighter side, if you would like to see the Guess Who in ther Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, just google "Guess Who petition", but don't use the quotation marks.

  • Burton Cummings is awesome on this song!

  • hatchetwounder, you are just rude and obnoxious! How do you live with yourself? You are married? How does your wife tolerate your sorry ars? OMG, I have never seen such an obnoxious poster in my whole life!

  • 'Til your tin ear blooms, keep your lip spider from getting too angry lest he grow into your mouth and strangle u...... You actually wrote that?.... Fag

  • Please go to college and expand your narrow horizons, Mr. KKK, jinjoist, and closet-queer (those that are fearful of 'gays' tend to be secretly wanting the shaft). Now, by your demented reasoning, educated people that are from Canada could be gay as well? OMG! LOL LOL LOL at you, you fucking racist homophobe.

  • hatchetwounder...on behalf of Burton Cummings fans everywhere...fuck off!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My wife and I are rolling right-about now! LOL! Gay and from England to-boot!I understand that my last two posts handed you your flat-white-ass on a silver platter, so it stands to reason why you are the one that is 'butt-hurt'. Your latest attempt at insult has fallen short, yet again--not one relevant point and now racism and homophobia?

  • hey hatchetwounder....why don't you get a life instead of deeply researching pre or post "mustache" of Burton's voice. Yeah, as we get older everything degrades, vocal included, he still is better than you and 99% of population. Why do you feel compelled to post your crap on every Cumming's video? Are you a stalker? Rejected artist?

  • A lot of singers voices are either blown out or change as they age ... just listen to Sinatra over the years. Sounds like Burton has held up better than a lot of others like Elton John, who sounds nothing like his 70's peak.

  • Yeah, his vibrato that was so wonderful is almost completely gone from his voice, and his control over the rasp has gone too, along with a lot of his range. I still like his voice when he doesn't sing hard, but it definitely has changed A LOT

  • is there video of live at the paramount?

  • I have been researching Burton for a while now,and have found that the last time he even sounded like himself was a live show in 1974 on tv. Man, he really blows now-very forced and no edge/grit like the dude on Amer.Woman of yore. Just listen to the transistions and this was 25 years ago--just depressing to listen now. I think once he began donning the mustache he began going downhill--just research his performances cronilogically if you don't believe me. Sad to see a giant dwarf

    himself. :(

  • see my reply

  • Dearest"hrrycallahan",seems that honesty gets your goat.I posted those critiques over 2weeks ago-where the hell have u been, living your incredibly artistis "life"?Meekly strum-ming a plastic ovation to chessey tunes like what B.C.wrote AFTER the Guess Who?If a realistic critique gets up your tight-ass this far,u had better have your blood pressure and prostate examined. We would hate 2see your notalgia get the best of you.Truth hurts, both CHP moustaches, tenuous composition, and cry-babies like u.

  • The voice is still ok...however he admitted in concert about 10 years ago "Now I can't sing this song like I could when I was 19 but, like a professional, I should at least try". The song was These Eyes. He definately has lost that raw edge and sounds more nasally now. Still one of my favourites though.

  • burton, had and still has that unmistakable voice,,,,, awesome voice, my fave group from way back

  • the more i watch and see garry peterson play, the better he gets, he is an amazing drummer

  • Burton is amazing.

  • This was the group in their prime!! I have seen them in reunion concerts and they have wowwed me out. But, this is better. They have all mellowed a bit since the 80s. No shame. Haven't we all?

  • WOW!!!

    now that's what I call a jam.

    5 stars indeed

  • yes it was

  • Great grumbling grubbychunks!!! that was awesome!!!
