  • political appointees are in the process of trying to enact similar ordinances in philadelphia. it's disgusting.

  • @deliciousmorton Do everything you can to oppose it, make a Youtube video explaining the bullshit they are proposing. It's ridiculous.

  • This is the most terrible injustice I have heard to date. We need people to help people in this country stick together in this massive crisis that is going on and has been going on sense 2008. I say if people care help the food not bombs people get there yearly permit. They need help get a donate button and I will donate so they will be able to feed people. This is insane for our law enforcement officials to enforce this type of law when there is way more worser crimes being committed.

  • I think you have a strong head above your shoulders. Great response. I couldn't agree more. The police are the front line for defending rights at home. When they commit acts of aggression on citizens for victimless crimes, then freedom is lost. Another great act of civil disobedience would be people providing free food at ten times the rate!

  • REAL TALK!

  • Is there anything hacking can't do.....lmao.

    Great video!

  • WHY SHOULD ANYONE NEED A FUCKING PERMIT TO FEED HOMELESS???!!!! wtf

  • The police are arresting people who are just trying to help people who really have nothing. And are wasting time on an no crime while the people who do real crime get to do crime and get away with it. WTF

  • :D kitty behind his head :O

  • FUCK THE POLICE !! WHY SHOULD ANYONE NEED A FUCKING PERMIT TO FEED HOMELESS???!!!! FUCK THE GOVERNMENT !! THE GOVERNMENT FEEDS ILLEGALS !!! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS COUNTRYS GOVERNMENT COMING TO ????????????!!! FUCK THEM , I WILL FEED AMERICAN HOMELESS IF I SO CHOOSE TO !! FUCK THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • anonymous will get payback for every rouge cop

  • I'm glad someone posted this, I too live in Orlando, and what they are doing against the people who help others. Buddy Dyer spits on morals laid down for centuries by limiting the right to help others.

  • Everybody who agrees with anonymous should follow them on twitter they are trying to make America a better place for everybody and who's screwing it up the government. thumbs up if you agree.

  • could not agree more. the government seem to want to control everything, i say give the people more freedom

  • you couldnt be more right

  • thats completely illegal for the cops to be arresting them

  • One question then. What would happen if the cops didn't arrest these people? It's not the policemen's fault. It's the law. If the policemen didn't follow orders, they would lose their job.

  • I live in Orlando, and i think that arresting people for feeding the homeless in Lake Eola Park is freakin nuts!! I go there a lot and I've been there when the homeless are being fed, and they aren't disturbing ANYONE!! The OPD officers are in the wrong.

  • dude, your cat is epic!

  • No question that is a crime to arrest people for showing love to their fellow human being.

  • I think this makes no sense wtf has america become

  • Fuck tha police

  • Rootberry have you considered coming onto our irc channel and talking with higher up members?

  • @zolo009 I really want to look more into it but my schedule is extremely hectic for the next month. Please stop back in mid August and remind me. Thanks for your comments.

  • America is the asshole of the world.

  • @donttrustany1 This video represents the assholes of America! And some non assholes who like to give food to people who are down on their luck....

  • @rootsays they want the homeless to be criminals - they want them to steal their food, sell drugs for their food, prostitute themselves for money for food - anything to help them (the government, police, social workers, prison guards, etc) keep their jobs - because once we realize we are better off without them, wtf will they do? they are too stupid to learn anything new

  • @donttrustany1 and canada is the cock

  • give to the homless a job, not food

  • @ironmarion How many homeless are you employing these days?

  • @rootsays 2 of them, i give them provitional work, for time to time, not to many because they spend most of that money to get drougs.

  • @ironmarion

Feeding them is triage. Jobs are long term treatment.

I work with the homeless a LOT, and unfortunately in my experience the majority of them have mental issues and are unemployable.

  • @ironmarion i tell u what. let's say ur hungry. the nearest free food is 5 miles and u do not have a vehicle but I expect u to work for 2 wks w/o seeing money until 2 wks. u hav kids & wife hungry. ur job is 10 miles away. now work it out on daily basis. now the job depends on who picks u, & b/c others will work 4 less than u, they choose the others. make it work

  • way to go america!

  • thats incredibly ridiculous, to get arrested for helping people?! wtf?? i didn't think i was possible to get arrested for being raised correctly and helping your fellow man in time of need!

  • DDoS attacks?

  • it was my understanding that the reason they are getting so much guff from the police and the government is because of their choice of location. rather than feeding the homeless at a homeless shelter or church or other pre-approved place to feed the homeless without a permit, they picked a public park that is maintained by the city using tax dollars. thus making it a desirable place for homeless people to set up camp, and a less desirable place for the public to go. thus wasting tax dollars.

  • Peanut butter

  • @Cash8452 Yes, just as long as you don't feed over 25 people with your pizza. Over 25 you need a permit.

  • Am I not allowed to feed my homeless friend a box of pepperoni pizza?

  • @illfaded09 Depends how big your pizza is, if you feed over 25 then no, under 25 yes. Lame.

  • Can I give my homeless friend a box of pizza? Or should I be arrested? They aren't animals. They're humans. Arrest me sure but i hope the cops at least think twice at one point. Otherwise they're brainwashed robots carrying out the ridiculous orders of others. Just like the Nazis. Brainwashed.

  • They don't have to uphold the order. First, the one who gave the order committed a crime. The police officers who enforced the order, arguably did not directly commit a crime. I will be harsh to say they committed a crime IMO.

  • Peanut Butter

  • when you can't even feed the homeless without fear of arrest...how can freely giving someone something be a crime? Can I give my spare chage to them too, or is that against the law? man!

  • wow I had no idea this was really going on as bad as it is.... This is horrible

  • The police are not guilty of a crime. They're upholding a crappy law that needs to be changed. Police don't make laws, they enforce them. It's a really simple concept. Be mad at the local legislators who have allowed this travesty to occur.

  • @ButterflyDragon9 Perhaps a simple concept to you. Police upholding bad laws makes them into government thugs, bullies who hide behind a gun and do whatever the "legislators" tell them to do. These criminal legislatures create laws that take civil rights away from citizens who have not participated in a crime (they have not violated anyones civil rights) so, the police and the legislatures are guilty of a crime because they have, in a violent manner taken rights away from non violent people.

  • @rootsays

There is a reason why those who write the law, those who uphold the law and those that judge the law are separated. Those checks and balances are what makes this country and our system of government so unique. The citizens have the ability to change bad law. And that is by holding their legislators accountable. But we don't. We're lazy citizens. We vote for whoever has saturated our airways or has the appropriate R or D next to their name. We get the government we deserve.

  • @ButterflyDragon9 Furthermore, the Einsatzgruppen (post world war 2) were charged for war crimes, because they carried out Hitlers orders. They said they were just following orders. The excuse, and that's what it is, that cops don't make laws, or I was just doing what I was told is never a good enough reason to lock up people who have not violated someones civil rights.

  • @rootsays

So, you'd prefer all police to make personal decisions whether they want to carry out the law? Really? This country is founded on the rule of law. Doesn't mean all laws are smart. But to promote the idea that police officers determine on their own what laws they want to uphold and what laws they don't is an extremely dangerous point of view in my opinion. What happens when you're the victim of a crime and the police officer that responds decides it's immoral for him to do so?

  • @ButterflyDragon9 No, it comes down to a simple principal, was there a victim (was someones civil rights violated by another person). By feeding the homeless, the people feeding did not violate someones civil rights? The answer is a definitive no. When the police arrested them, they acted as oppressors not protectors, they did nothing to protect anyone, instead they took rights away from the arrested. Tell me, how did they protected or served the public?

  • @rootsays

They protected the citizens who live and operate businesses in that area that complained about the problems it created for them in the past. That is why the ordinance was created in the first place. People's lives were being disrupted.

I know your heart is in the right place, but think about this. You live in the area. How about contacting Food Not Bombs and tell them you'll open your front yard or backyard as a point of contact for them to provide free food to the homeless?

  • agreeeeed!

  • up to 30 people now, wow...

  • I agree, the police were causing civil dis-arrest by disturbing a charitable event (yea they didn't have a permit but if its a public place permits depending on what it is for is more being considerate, so why limit them in the first place?)

  • Peanute butter? lol

  • @yoyorocks2 81 comments and you are the first one to mention the peanut butter. Goodtimes!

  • Everyone is having a problem with housing , feeding , and general taking care of the evergrowing homeless and hungry populaion..thats the big picture that needs to be fixed..people are tired of seeing bums asking for money or always relying on others for food..enough is enough..not saying what Orlando is doing is right..but they have a HUGE problem as do we here in Tampa..I think we all should come together and figure something out as a country its getting outa hand as you said

  • I agree, thats not a crime. Police are sometimes do things that other people would get arrested for.

  • Why at the 0:32 mark do you make the illuminati pyramid symbol?

  • @sabrom Until you mentioned it, I did not even know what an Illuminati pyramid symbol was. After looking it up on the internet I still don't know what you are talking about.

  • Really!?! You have to have a permit to give food away homeless people?! This kind of shit really irritates me! There are plenty of people out there breaking serious laws like rape, abuse, drug dealing (with the exception of herb lol), etc. Glad these officers are wasting tax dollars arresting people that are just trying to help! <~Yes people this is sarcasm!!

  • I do agree with what they are doing, but heres the thing they have given them permission to give out food in certain areas but this group refuse's to go to the areas

  • @therandomidiot90 It's a tax payer park, public park, we as citizens pay for that park. Where have they been given access to. Is there a large group of homeless people in these areas?

  • @rootsays i dont know i was listening to 1011 and they were saying how disgusted they were with this but they were given permission to serve them in those areas, i dont know if they are populated with homeless. It makes me angry because for a while my dad was homeless and people like this helped him get back on his feet

  • Well maybe their boss put them under pressure and he threatened they would lose their jobs. But I don't know how things like these work in the US.

  • @pizzagek Yes, that is what happened, but they are cowards for using their power to arrest non violent citizens.

  • the homeless are very gentle people with feelings. those policemen are being cruel to the people that stand up and help and they commit a crime

  • If we continue to treat the homeless like trash, there's no way they're ever gonna get back on their feet. This is just a cruel, cruel way of killing them off :/

  • OK. I saw the video. I left comment there asking for email details of head of that operation and I promised i would let them know what I think of it. Got NO response. why the fuck is that. Look. for me the internet is this network where IF people would get together we could LET THESE PEOPLE DOING THIS HIT KNOW what many people feel about it. yeah? But noone seems to wanna do this. I would have. If I had seen that request and lived in the US or Oralando i woulda contacted me. so thers that.

  • @zezt 2---The zombie cops who dont seem allowed to even respond to people are basically 'just following orders'--that dont make it right and the must be shamed but more importantly we need to get to who MAKES this two permit law shit!!! First question I want to know is WHY are they only allowing two permits a year for something as serious as people being fed food etc? Do you know the answer to this?

  • Florida is devistated there are no jobs these police are just like all the other police out there they do what they are told if they were told to arrest you for untied shoe laces they would go do it no matter what. They don't want real police that can think and obey a higher athority. Want to know what they want then you need to watch the video of GEORGE CARLIN telling you exactly what we live in and how they do things. You just think you are free we are not free until we elect libertarians.

  • @cdltpx Do you happen to know what the George Carin clip is called, I'd really like to watch/listen to that.

  • @rootsays It in my favorites on my home page I think it is called "the best 3 minutes of George Carlins life" I went in my favorites and hit the more button then It was in the second group of videos.. If you cruise around in my favorites you will see I have a yt account to share the brilliant ideas locate the most direct way to get things and get things done. What I want developed is homeless tech a class training how to survive the eventuality that is most likely to befall us all at some time.

  • we are anonymous, we are aware of the corruption in the world's governments and their apathy for the human lives because of money.

we are aware of the governments' attempt to cover on the news of the rebellions to keep us as slaves for the current system.

we are anonymous, we declare war on the corrupted system, join the plan to get your freedom and rights back. you are a human being, your life has value. we are anonymous, we are legion, expect us!

    whatis-theplan(dot)org

  • @zolo009 I'm adding the description to the additional information of the video, thanks for the comment, I appreciate you.

  • cops...psh. >.> what are they thinking. What if they were homeless, how would they think then.

  • I think now that anonymous has called the city of Orlando out, they will keep arresting Food Not Bombs members based out of some egotistical principle....They do not realize however, that this will only attract more positive attention to anonymous, which is exactly what anonymous wants.

Let it flow and may the sun shine on all corruption everywhere.

  • @Anonymousche Well said, thanks for the comment.

  • they should also arrest the people that pick trash up off the floor (<---just in case u didnt know that was sarcasm) -_-

  • i want to believe that the cops dont want to arrest these people they are just doing their job, to feed their families also.

there has got to be a way to stop the sources from ordering these arrests. its ridiculous. government just wants all the homeless people to die, so the streets are cleaner!

such a sad world we live in where we cant even help our fellow man anymore.

  • Agreed with everything you said. Sick of this shit happening. Great video Jonathan. :)

  • I think arresting people for feeding the homeless is a crime, and also that they shouldn't be hacking sites for vengeance. That won't help anything.

  • @IRNjuggle28 I believed the idea behind hacking the sites it to bring awareness to the crime being committed by the police, I have linked to anonymous in the more description section, you should read what they stand for. It's an interesting organization.

  • @rootsays I suppose... I read that, and I sort of see the point. On the other hand, hacking websites doesn't do shit to help homeless people, food not bombs people, or even the "anonymous" people. And it makes the government mad at them, so who GAINS anything from the hacking?

  • @IRNjuggle28

Who says all we are doing is hacking websites???

  • @zolo009 You're one of the hackers? If so, what else do you do?

  • @IRNjuggle28

No, im just a regular guy who is in favor of the org, go to the website and do some research its open to the public for a reason we fight for your rights even if you wont.

  • That's not a crime.. that's just ignorance people who doesn't deserve they're jobs. Why isn't the government doing anything???

  • @KimiHeBaStTSBS The government is doing something, they the government is using it's police to arrest non-violent citizens for a victimless crime.

  • @rootsays well that's better, i thought the gov. wasn't doin' anything:)

  • You know we live in a screwed up world when we can arrest people for helping the homeless but we couldn't prove Casey Anthony guilty. I think I have made my point.

  • I think that while they may have actually broke a law there should be an exception. Just guessing the law is referring to something like a business permit (for example it is illegal to open up a store in your front yard unless you are properly licensed and have the right kind of property) I think it should be perfectly legal as they arent making a profit off of the program.

  • you nailed it

  • very said

  • I think that using a law like "exceeding their permit" to arrest those who care for others is reprehensible. Clearly the law needs modification. I also think the thought process of some of the people making decisions to arrest people who want to help needs to be replaced with more enlightened thinking. IMHO.

    EdElisea 07/07/11

  • I also believe its a crime that they arrested them. Good for Food Not Bombs for showing them! and yay I just noticed my comment at the end of the video lol

  • @XxGRIMREAPER9999xX Thanks for all the comments, please share this video, I'd like it to get out there. Cheers.

  • @rootsays Your welcome and also I will.

  • if we're not allowed to help each other then what's the point in living?

  • @MJG164 I don't want to my freedom taken away for helping others, it's just fundamentally wrong.

  • @rootsays our freedom is already gone we have to live under our government rules

  • Root I'm with you when you said in your comment "I'd rather be hailed by the people as a hero, then have to explain to my son that I arrested people who were feeding homeless people. I just can't follow orders that are in my opinion fundamentally wrong." I would do the same.

  • is there not any way to get some national or state wide attention to this issue? seems to me the Orlando TV stations should be willing to get a story about this and bring it to light.

  • @daddytech It's actually been on the news a few times here, local news. I've been wanting to make a video about it. I was reminded when the cyber hacker group "anonymous" hacked into another website. I wish it would get national attention. It's just so very sad.

  • @rootsays maybe someone needs to contact CNN or MSNBC.... they have a place to post stories like this and this one being supported already by video might be a quick human interest piece they are willing to post

  • Land of the thug, home of the slave! OPD is sad!

  • I agree that to feed the homeless is a good thing. I can't support hacking in any instance, however. I would support writing letters to the editor, protesting in front of city hall, giving money to that organization, and creating a petition to change this policy.

  • The police are just government thugs. They choose yes men to do that job. Not people who think for themselves, Root I don't think you would do well as a cop, because you think for yourself.

  • This is fucking sad.

  • there is not enough people in the world who want to help people in need..it is a crying shame

  • The police do have some lee way in what they can do. but if the officers on site were ordered to arrest and bring these people in and they didn't they would be fired, I think the real criminals in this is the local government clowns who won't change the statutes to let these people feed the homeless

  • @TheCasperOne Personally, I would be fired. I'd rather be hailed by the people as a hero, then have to explain to my son that I arrested people who were feeding homeless people. I just can't follow orders that are in my opinion fundamentally wrong. It's what the Einsatzgruppen did in Nazi Germany and after the war they were tried for the first time in history for their crimes.

  • @rootsays I understand where you are coming from and I hope that these arrests get more attention thrown onto this whole episode and that the statutes and laws are changed so that these people can do what they are doing. Lets say that a cop refuses to do what is essentially his job and stop these people from breaking the law then when he is fired, he will have a hard time finding another job in law enforcement because of the circumstances in which he was fired.

  • @TheCasperOne I am not trying to downplay what happened but the city responded to claims by local citizens that feeding in the local parks was disruptive. This was taken to federal court by the group and the court said that the feeding is free speech but that the ordinance doesn't infringe unreasonably the groups right. This organization is now doing this as a free speech protest. They could just as easily rent a building and feed the homeless there and not violate any laws

  • @TheCasperOne oh the group fed the homeless at City Hall and no one was arrested

  • @TheCasperOne I agree that they would find a difficult time getting another gov. job. But I can garuntee that there would be someone who would offer them a private sector job, just for having the balls to stand up to this BS.

  • heythatsmike sent me here through a twitter link i am retweeting this to help get the word out to all 600 of my subs too

  • @daddytech Thanks for coming to watch, feel free to subscribe, Mike and Holly are great people and I'm glad they are Youtubers.

  • @rootsays yeah they are the reason i kept at it till i made partner, Mike has been a HUGE help with getting me straight on what becoming partner was all about. they are really nice people too so yeah i too am glad they are youtubers also :o) I've heard them mention you i think it was last year or the first of this year with the contest that Holly won the juggling pins from and saw you guys with them at playlist live too. just hadn't gotten around to checking you guys out till now. i'm subbed

  • So, this organization does seem to have a good motive, but they don't seem to understand how things work. I mean, if you need a permit, you need a permit, right?

Why not run it out of someone's home, or become a NPO (if they already aren't) and try to get a small store front?

  • @meshunderlay That's what this group does, it offers meals on Monday and Thursdays, so that people know where they can get a good consistent meal. It would be nice to do it out of somebody's home but then they would be breaking other laws because they would be operating a commercial catering service (something like that). They feel that it's a public park. One of the signs read, Jesus didn't need a permit, the sign make me chuckle.

  • What the fuck Orlando. What the fuck.

  • i think the city just doesn't want homeless ppl kept on the streets. Cause its like animals in Park signs. "Don't feed the animals" because it might bring more. If i can be fed for free then call me homeless from now on.

  • @DJparsons89 Yeah, but you'd still have a home. I may go down and film next week.

  • thats not right at all

  • Were the hackers called Anonymous at all?

  • @conzosayshi Yep, that's the hackers group that did it.

  • @conzosayshi They seem to be doing alot of good work lately, eh? =)

  • @meshunderlay Lol, without sounding like I support them, or are a member, I kinda like what they stand for. I live in Ireland, so I know what oppression's like, and not having the freedom of speech that USA residents enjoy (to a certain extent)

I'm on the fence with Anonymous, but I would like to see how they go about their business of what they call "The Plan" :)

  • That's just ridiculous! The police may have the "excuse" for arresting the people in the sense that (hypothetically) the homeless know that they'll at least be getting two free meals a week so they MIGHT be less motivated to get back on their feet, but in my opinion, its prolly enough to deal with just by being homeless. I'm sure it's a huge relief for them to have those meals. The police have no business in interfering with helping people that may not have the means to feed themselves properly.

  • "Foods not bombs???" why bomb a homeless person? i'd bomb the stupid cops :D

  • arrested for feeding the homeless? wow, if anything they should be thanked and given more money to help out. what they are doing is a lot more of a crime than any of the people trying to help

  • Root, I have a question in history every civil movement or action that has taken part the police has always done something to stand in its way, civil rights, women rights, Vietnam protest, hell even in the Iraq war protests, police have always been in the way granted we need them but I honestly what do they think they are achieving if anything people will die from this, to me this is sad. As to the hackers I salute them for taking action on this injustice.

  • Arrest the Police!!!

  • F the Police

  • This makes me want to cry, how horrible. These people are heroes, doing a heroic act and they get arrested for it?! I am going to look into this further, because it is going to bother me. Thank you for bringing it to peoples attention.

  • @HeyThatsHolly I had to do a video about it, it bothered me too badly.

  • I totally agree with you

  • thcoolman noone really thinks that impressive anymore and Jon i think this personally is wrong and no offenseto you or anyone else but America has some crazy laws against things like this which are good so im against the matter of arresting people cause their doing good
