It kinda sucks cause for me most of the characters Rivalry seems better than their friendship bonuses. I mean Merill's Rivalry alone is awesome so is Fenris's Rivalry dear god.....
@XxLasTxReBeLlioNxX Rivalry is better for Merrill if you make the mistake of not using her Pariah tree for blood magic. 33% less cost for spells and abilities is better for a mage than damage reduction, and I built her as a tank. And in terms of Fenris.. You take crit damage on a character not meant for DPS over 10% magic resist? Well, okay. Varric? Chance to stealth for rival, friend is 5% attack speed 5% dodge. Aveline's damage transfer is also berserk if you're anything but a warrior/tankmage
I have too disagree I maxes out level fifty with the glitch and played hard mode witch makes it near impossible too beat, but build your main character right and you can still own everything in your path, takes knowledge of character builds and in the end RPG's are all about the build. But thanks for the book locations!!
@GuidaDude i believe that once you read one it locks you out of that area for the rest of the game not positive on that though my friend did the same thing and hasn't found a way in other then a new game

Yeah, you really have to be into that sort of game in order to like it :) Everyone I know only plays FPSs like Halo or COD, so they wouldn't touch Origins with a 10 ft pole haha. You really have to love that sort of thing because the game demands a lot of time and thought.

Act 3: Starts when you kill the Arishok and save Kirkwall.
P.S: Originally Act 3 doesn't begin "immediately" after you kill the Arishok. It actually starts at that cutscene of Meredith and Orsino arguing about something in public in hightown, and then you step in.
For the difficult room. I spent hours for it(bad equipment, skilling, setup) till i figured out that you can reset the fight. Just pull the first group down the stairs and fight them. The will go out of fight if the last enemy dies. Then save the game and pull the next group and so on. Pulling groups and going back is the best strategy you can do in this game. Pull a big group you cant manage to control(tanking/heal), go back with all alts and stop with the tank and let him tank in a tight path.
If you formed a romance with merril and asked her to move in with you, you dont have to worry about losing friendship when doing this quest. I destroyed all the tomes except the last one and I didnt lose any friendship with her.
Here I was going to warn people that the quest was a bit glitched (no big surprise there in this game, sadly), but... then I saw Fragger go to the Bone Pit. I was going crazy for a day trying to get into the last area for the Achievement!
And yes, I actually did a facepalm for being so stupid here. -_-
Eh, I prefer.. if I'm having a character that always does the right thing... to make Merrill one of my rivals. Bioware even mentions this, that if you want to be a good friend, sometimes you end up having to do something they don't like (ie. trying to get her to stop with the mirror...) in order to "save" her. Still can get the romance either way ;-) It is so very hard to play a bad character though... like in Mass Effect 2... so many grey areas and morale dilemas!
@freakermeaker3365 its definatly worth getting,but imo it has some "flaws" that I didnt like,first of all,you cant get what armor you like for each char,you have to buy upgrades for the armors they are wearing,second you dont get to choose class as for example rouge,if you wanna be two handed or Archer or whatever,its already prepicked,on the side characters that is...but theres alot of great stuff bout this game 2,much better battle mode imo,and better graphics,all in all a very decent game.;)
@WrathBringerMS all who bought the game gets someting called the Dark Emporium. And there you can buy a potion that resets all the points and stuff. So you can change it. It's not prepicked

Im almost on my second playtrough,and yes I have the black emporium...lets take an example,he has a rouge on his team,Isabella,you cant use bow with her,even though shes a rouge,you can only use double weapon,same with aveline,warrior,can only use sword and shield etc

There is one of everything in this game just pick the guys you want. Having to much to do isnt a good thing, already soooo much to do in this game. Having to get good gear for yourself is hard enough. Making sure 4 characters got good gear/enchants/weapons and stuff would be way to much.

Xenbenkeck was a pain in the ass. Hawke was the last person standing and I was up against Xenbenkeck and 2 rage demons and a revnant. Took about 30 minutes to beat it.
yeah this helps because what i did was take the books instead of destroy them the first time through because Rage Demons, Shades, Abominations appeared when i took the books. i started my second game so i shall get it this time.

@klayhalo Nothing to do with WoW, it's a single player action RPG, WoW is an MMORPG and it's combat is different though the the first Dragon Age was more simular to WoW than this one they have nothing to do with WoW so you can go back to playing your game now.
@GEARGR1NDER Actually, the developers for Warhammer (still just the little action figure board game at this point) paid Blizzard to make a PC version. The deal fell through and they had an unfinished game. Then they created a new universe and storyline and created the Warcraft series. The games are completely different though, so it really doesn't matter. (Wikipedia. I'm not a massive nerd) :P

Why does everyone say this game is awful? Did you really think this was going to be as good as Origins? Personally I prefer Origins, Baldurs gate and Neverwinter of DA2 but that doesn't make DA2 a bad game, it just makes it a appeal to a less RPG focused crowd. Also in ME2 you didn't get to customize their armour and nobody complained about that even though in the first ME you could :P

Having to get good gear for yourself is hard enough. Making sure 4 characters got good gear/enchants/weapons and stuff would be way to much.

And no Varric the dwarf cant be used as an archer the way I mean,what do I do with the 15 imba bows ive found? Obvious answer is sell them,but I want to use them,also whats with the 120 different armor types you find having only 1 character that can use them.
I had no problems in Origin setting up chars;b
You had problems in Origins building ur characters with items/weapons/enchantments?

But if you read it them you won't be able to complete the Quest. That is what I was told and what I heard. Which sucks. Those 2 attribute points can really help when you're trying to get your stats high enough for a weapon! DX

Xenbenkeck was a pain in the ass. Hawke was the last person standing and I was up against Xenbenkeck and 2 rage demons and a revnant. Took about 30 minutes to beat it.

yeah this helps because what i did was take the books instead of destroy them the first time through because Rage Demons, Shades, Abominations appeared when i took the books. i started my second game so i shall get it this time.

@klayhalo Nothing to do with WoW, it's a single player action RPG, WoW is an MMORPG and it's combat is different though the the first Dragon Age was more simular to WoW than this one they have nothing to do with WoW so you can go back to playing your game now.

@GEARGR1NDER Actually, the developers for Warhammer (still just the little action figure board game at this point) paid Blizzard to make a PC version. The deal fell through and they had an unfinished game. Then they created a new universe and storyline and created the Warcraft series. The games are completely different though, so it really doesn't matter. (Wikipedia. I'm not a massive nerd) :P

I was just pointing out that WoW isn't the "Incredibly innovative idea" that this guy seems to think it is. Dragon age is a nice series, and nearly every RPG in the past decade has taken some elements from other successful RPG's

Why does everyone say this game is awful? Did you really think this was going to be as good as Origins? Personally I prefer Origins, Baldurs gate and Neverwinter of DA2 but that doesn't make DA2 a bad game, it just makes it a appeal to a less RPG focused crowd. Also in ME2 you didn't get to customize their armour and nobody complained about that even though in the first ME you could :P

Why didn't u replace Avaline with Bethany? She isn't as good as Merril if u want DPS but she's still ok. Plus if u play this, go as a rogue! It's far more enjoyable to play as one and it's harder to die.
