Focus on using the basic Triads in diffrent combination
Start with the classic I-IV-V proggresion try outline the chords and the changes by using chordtones(R-3rd-Fifth), Scale tones and even cromatic tones (tones not from the scale)
@vonroden no offense but u churned out all that music theory stuff and still came up with an extremely dull bass riff. i have jack all knowledge of music theory but my guitar and bass riffs are a lot more interesting!
metal doesnt need 2 be fast look at rammstein and some songs from ozzy osbourne they're sometimes far from fast

preatty good. a little slow for a metal riff, but metal doesnt have to be all fast for the bass. nice job
